Finding a shop like Rainbow Muffler in St. Pete is like spotting a unicorn, they are not just exhaust system repairs. I took my high-mileage SUV there and got pure, unadulterated honesty. They focus strictly on what keeps the car running and safe. Because of them my beautiful piece-of-trash Honda (300k+) lives to rattle another day. Bonus: Sometimes they have awesome old cars there getting work done. Most everyone you meet there is going to be a repeat customer like me, because when you find a Unicorn you have a friend for life. read more

Got an estimate quote through Yelp on a 2017 Elantra shocks and struts replacement from Robert and it seemed very fair. The work was done on time and the car is handling much better! Final price was exactly as expected also! Definitely recommend this shop. read more

The crew were friendly and professional. The location is conveniently located. My favorite was the artwork painted on the exterior. I didn't end up using their services as the estimate was too high but would revisit based on their customer service. read more

My air conditioner failed on an extremely hot day. I came in without an appointment. They diagnosed it and repaired it in less than an hour and a 1/2 on a busy day, and I left with cold AC at an extremely reasonable price. I can't say enough good about these guys, they did an awesome job. read more

I'm from Ohio and this shop was recommended by Apex Auto Repair to fix up the tailpipe of our Sprinter chassis RV. The mechanic knew exactly what we needed and fixed us up accordingly. We have pictures showing what was done. Repairs took less than 2 hours for 2 technicians. Highly Recommended! read more

Fast efficient, guys know what they ate doing and have the experience and knowledge to give it to you straight. Highly recommended

Best of the best! My Jeep is running perfectly like never before! Replaced my gas tank that had a leak guess what 'no more leak'!

Great service the guys there are very friendly and knowledgeable they did some impossible work and did it good would recommend this to any car guy that wants a quick and reasonable job done ! read more

The service was courteous , prompt and knowledgeable , good ownership and good management

They did good fast work sure, but leaving my truck locked with the key in it in st pete surrounded by bad people & they didn't even know it was locked they told me it was unlocked with the key in it & had been that way since yesterday because they couldn't figure out how to remove my key didn't even think to call me or anything to figure it out just gave up & left it there what if my truck had been stolen? I had a bad dream about it last night & I will never come back to this place again. Fucking 663 for 1 cat installed is beyond crazy knew I shouldn't have taken it here once I saw that price maybe you will have a good experience but me? Hahaha fuck these people. read more

Very fast very professional in my car is running smoothly the manager there was very nice and friendly and funny

I was disappointed when I was headed to a different location after having made an appt almost 1week prior. They tried to reschedule because the lift wasn't accessible. Called the St Pete store, they said no problem. Took me right in. Good price, great crew and incredible work on my new Flowmasters! read more

We purchased a pair of running boards for our new truck and brought it in for a quote to install. Bill inspected it and Jesus was our service guy. He told us that the truck didn't have any screw holes already on the truck and that THEY would have to screw them and that would make it a "customized" job since the boards couldn't just be added. All holes already installed by manufacturer and ready for install we knew before going in and couldn't believe they lied to our face. read more

they are amazing helped me with exhaust problem and now it sounds way better then before

Apparently this place that I have gone to for years is under new ownership. My $74 (after tax & fees) oil change comes to $101?! I understand the additional $11 for the 2 quarts of oil while diagnosing it. But the math isn't mathing. $74 +11= $85. My car now requires a special $9 oil filter now (since when) and there is a $2 shop fee (normal for disposal) and some additional fee hidden in there? Unfortunately, while this place was super convenient for me, I won't be returning. I don't like being taken advantage of, as I don't believe anyone would. read more

This auto repair shop gets nothing but a 5/5 recommendation. Every time I bring my car in, the car issue is explained thoroughly and I am given the price of the parts and how much the service will cost. Dana does such a good job focusing on the customers. She is always busy answering phones or calling auto part stores. The wait time differs day to day but the end result is well worth it. They do great work on Nissans. As I myself have a Nissan and this is the only place I take it. I even take it here before I go to the Nissan dealership. Rainbow muffler gives you the best price and also provides you with a receipt if you plan to come back a different day. The price of work does not change as long as you keep the receipt. Every time I have done this , Dana has honored the price. I do not feel as if the mechanics here try to get over on me because I'm not all familiar with what's needed for my car etc. read more

Terrible service quote not what was charged. Was charged double plus extra with no explanation. No refund!!!! Rude disrespectful

Service is always great. I have an older car and they've helped fix my A/C and muffler issues. Very honest, down to earth staff and very reasonable pricing for services. Will definitely be a recurring customer. read more

Honest Quality. I am extremely pleased both with the shop's work and the customer-service focus. I brought in my car dreading that it needed $1,000+ in exhaust work. And I told Sally that. An hour later I get a call back that it's not bad at all; a full price under $200! The work was completed quickly -- several hours -- and right the first time. While they could easily have charged much more (I'm ignorant...), they just did things right. I'm planning on bringing all my auto needs to Rainbow for both cars! read more

Can't say enough. Should have done this the first time I was there. From Dana at the desk to everyone they are customer focused. Good old school mechanic shop. No frills but amazing service and more important total honesty. Will tell what they can and can't do. Free estimates. First come first serve so get there early (even though I didn't and they solved my AC issue in under 1/2 hour). First visit was more than they do but gave me recommendations and told me exactly what to say. These are good people. Owners at desk and in shop. read more

Amazing service. I highly recommend this shop. their pricing and workmanship is 2nd to none.

Wow! Great people and great service! Dana and Rick were very helpful and courteous. Once Tom found the issue with the wife's minivan exhaust system, they were able to accommodate the repairs right away. Tom also found an issue with the driver side tie-rod, which needed to be replaced. Everything went smooth and they were very reasonably priced! With the service, that I received. They have a customer for life!! Thanks again Dana, Rick and Tom. read more

Came in to have a pinhole spot welded and the guy behind the counter who was the person that did the original weld that missed the hole, I didn't understand why it even mattered but I told him the previous owner of the muffler pipe, I held it up to show him the micro pinhole that he ignored and tells me he can do it for $30 I was like umm no thank you then he gives us n attitude and says how cheap his price is, I will never go back to that place for as long as that dude works there, total rip, who charges 30 buck to do a 1 second spot weld? read more

Have always had great service there. Only place I'll take my vehicle. Staff explained every issue and were great.

I got my oil changed here twice so far and I really like this place! My first visit was uneventful, but the second time I went, they helped me figure out what the rattling noise that was driving me crazy was. And they didn't give me a laundry list of things that I could not afford to fix. They have been consistently straight up and honest with me and have given me very reasonable quotes for repairs. I highly recommend them! read more

Had I not gone to get a second quote I would of paid nearly $500 here. The place that quoted me $85 fixed it and I've had no problems since. Sure Rainbow is Family owned, and sure they *maybe do a good job according to other reviews however quoting me for something I didn't need done completely rubbed me the wrong way. read more

If you have a 2003 S-10 and your rear back up lights stick on.replace relay beside fuse back right corner.I learned this off youtube.

The best experience I have ever had with a repair shop. I thought I needed a new muffler and expected to be without my car for a couple of days ad they ordered parts/etc. Rick got me in right away, and the mechanic brought me out to show me the problem. My catalytic converter had been STOLEN (cut out). Rick worked up an estimate, ordered the parts and had me out in about an hour. I figure at about half what I would have been charged elsewhere. I am still blown away. Everyone was very friendly and highly knowledgeable. A++ HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

These guys are aces. As good as it gets. It's a small shop but came highly recommended. So I brought my brand spanking new Raptor to get muffler surgery. It has a 6.2L engine that sounded like a Civic. I needed options and I was broke, so the guys here hooked me up with a Flowmaster muffler and my truck now sounds, well, like a truck! They were very courteous and helpful and fit me in without appointment. The prices were fair and the quality of the work was outstanding. If you need muffler work done, give these guys a shot. I really like the small shop, personal service feel and they are very competitive in their prices. But best of all they take great pride in the work that they do, and it shows. I brought the car back to do some additional work, and would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them. read more

Save your time and money and go somewhere else with your muffler and automotive business. These guys do sloppy work, don't stand behind their work and act like they are doing you a favor to do your work. Their operation is disorganized, shoddy and unreliable. Even if you pay them what they ask, it doesn't change the outcome. Pride in workmanship does not exist at Rainbow Muffler. They always act like they are super busy, but every time I go there, their staff is standing around and chatting. They use a first come, first served approach which is the most ridiculous business method I have ever experienced. I told the guy that recommended them to me and he said I'm the third complaint he has now heard and will not recommend them anymore. read more

This place is a little rough around the edges but did an excellent job replacing the rotors on my Toyota 4Runner. I stopped in on Friday to get an estimate, they were slammed with customers so I waited a bit to talk with someone. The price I was quoted was the best I had received so far, only $99 in labor! so I made plans to drop it off Saturday. It's first come first serve, no appointments so I planned to leave the car and return later. Dana at the front counter was very helpful and saved me money on the rotors by shopping around. My car was ready at 3:00, just when they close and it drives perfectly now. I was dreading getting this work done, but they made the process so easy and stress free. Thank you!! I know I'll be back in the future! read more

Amazing service. I stopped by and the lady at the desk was really friendly and took care of my cars issue in a very fast and professional manner. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Do NOT take any Mercedes, BMW, or FOREIGN cars to this place. The chic in the front is a smooth talking saleswoman. You will be robbed!!!! Those mechanics have no clue about those cars, nor do they have the proper tools onboard. Again, they are B.S. country robbers!!! Stay away!! They don't even deserve a star! read more

This company charged me $1,400 to fix my car and returned my car in worse condition. I had my 2013 Ram 1500 Stock dual exhaust removed in favor a more aggressive Magnaflow System. I wanted everything welded up so I went to Rainbow Muffler on the recommendation of a few others and their decent reviews on here. Let's start before the work was ever done..... 1) I was quoted roughly $99 to install the new muffler/y-pipe and the very little piping, once I got the truck on the lift and they already cut off the old pipe/muffler she (lady who works from desk) says oh its going to be $175 and its normally 200 but I am cutting you a deal because your military...PLEASE! I asked why an $80 price difference and she said replied with " I didn't know you would need 2.5" pipe, I thought it was 2 1/4... I bit my tongue politely since I was in uniform. Figured it was a lesson learned- dont allow them to cut until a price is agreed upon not "quoted". 2) Pipe bending is taking place and the pipes have HUGE valleys running down them at the bends a good 7inches long, I talk to the guy doing the pipe work and he says "the mandrel bender hasn't been serviced in a while so it doesn't bend this big pipe well, it leaves creases but they wont affect the flow any". I again voice my concern, this time Ricky(ie?) comes over and reassures me, no issues with it. I reluctantly say ok and the poorly bent pipe is installed. 3) After leaving I notice all lower RPM's there is a shutter, dare I say turbulence-esque....hmmmm Poorly bent pipe causing this? Me thinks so. I call and tell the Lady my issue, she says bring it in and we will look at it. What do you mean you will look at it? I just overpaid you for a shotty job (I will say the welds were nice though as well as tip alignment if I must find a positive), absolutely not, i will be there and you will fix this. 4) I arrive, they put it on the lift, she (desk lady) then tells me, we cant bend the bigger pipes with the creases, our mandrel bender doesn't work that way.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!?!?!? YOU ARE AN EXHAUST SHOP!!!! IT IS YOUR SOLE PURPOSE! I go talk to "Papi" who was awesome, him and the welders were phenomenal dudes, and he says don't sweat it, I will get it fixed, you're not happy I'm not happy. "Papi" fixes it, shutter/turbulence gone....guess it was the shiitty bent pipes....go figure. It gets two stars because the crew themselves were good, the front office, sales tactics, customer service and overall knowledge of their supposed trade was abysmal.-All this is a reflection of the office and not the shop laborers who actually do the work. Like said, those guys were standup guys who got it fixed, read more
