I've been a loyal customer at this location for years, which makes this hard to write. I brought my car in for a four-tire installation on 4/27. After driving the next morning after service, the car suddenly started wobbling dangerously and making a loud noise, and I had to drive slowly to get off the highway. I discovered the front right wheel was barely attached. Out of five lug nuts, only one was possibly tightened. Two were barely on, so loose I removed them with my bare hands. Two were never installed. The wheel could have come off at highway speed. When I returned, the team fixed it at no charge, but the manager only offered a discount on a future visit rather than a refund. I have photos documenting everything. I'm glad no one was hurt, but this level of negligence on a safety-critical task is unacceptable. I've contacted corporate. read more

My Experience with Firestone (Carrollton Ave, New Orleans) Stay away from this place. Update 1/6/2026 - Still no word on refund my for rental car and rideshare costs that I incurred. Firestone still unwilling to admit fault that technicians caused damages to my truck, and falsified the report saying that a sensor wasn't replaced. The technicians admitted to manually clearing codes after initially saying they "didn't touch my truck." Update 12/16 - The "socialcare" email that corporate responds to these reviews with gets you nowhere. Generic responses with no actual solutions. I've written and emailed executives, making them aware of everything, still haven't heard anything back. Firestone is a nightmare, and a dishonest company. I want to share what's happened with my truck so others can be aware of how this store operates. On November 22, I brought my 2018 Ford F-150 to Firestone Complete Auto Care on S. Carrollton Ave for what should have been a simple visit -- just an oil change, tire rotation, and diagnosis of a humming noise (front hub bearings). There were no check-engine lights, overheating warnings, or temperature issues when I dropped it off. Firestone did the repairs and called me on November 24 at 11:28 AM saying my truck was ready for pickup. What they didn't tell me is that, earlier that same morning, their system logged a "Check Engine Light On / Cooling System Diagnostic" issue while the truck was still in their possession. When I arrived that evening around 5 PM, I paid my bill ($1,400), walked outside, and started my truck. Within seconds, the temperature gauge maxed out, the cooling fan was screaming, the engine was shaking, and the dash said "ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE." I immediately shut it off and went back inside. The same employee told me they'd "noticed it during a test drive" and said, "We don't recommend you driving long distances." They also told me, "There's no way this is related to what we did." I left the truck there -- I never drove it off the lot. That night, Firestone emailed me a new $2,600 quote for more repairs: Cylinder head temperature sensor Active grille shutter assembly I never approved this. I never signed for any additional repairs. I left the truck for evaluation, not authorization to tear into my engine or cooling system. Weeks later, Firestone's corporate office had an independent inspector (Alacrity Solutions) look at the truck. Here's the key part of their report (and what Firestone never told me): "Repair facility stated that the cylinder head temperature sensor was replaced. Codes were cleared and vehicle is not overheating." That means Firestone replaced a part and cleared all the diagnostic codes before the inspector arrived -- without my approval -- which erased the proof of what they'd done. Then they used that cleared condition to deny my claim, saying, "No failure found." Let that sink in: The problem happened while Firestone had my truck. They replaced parts and cleared codes before the inspection. They never told me they'd worked on it again. They still tried to charge me $2,600 for the same repairs they secretly performed. And now, they've denied any responsibility. It's been over two weeks, my truck is still sitting there undrivable, and I've had to rent a vehicle out of pocket just to get to work. Every time I come to this place its an issue. once I came for something and the guy claimed he checked my tires and put air in them then he claimed my tire bust I had to replace it.(it was fine before I came) A second time again go in for one thing and they break something else. it's never their fault though. This time I came to get my windshield wipers checked now my ac isn't blowing cold like when I brought it in. Again it's not their fault. I'm convinced they are sabotaging customer vehicles to make more money off us. This is my final time doing business with them!!! I was fully prepared to be unhappy with my experience here when my husband booked an appointment here for an alignment. Previously, I have not had positive experiences at other Firestone locations. I am very happy to report that I could not have been more wrong. As another Yelper noted, they are understaffed, so even though we were able to make an appointment, we left it because they couldn't guarantee it would be finished that day. It actually was, and everyone there was so courteous and helpful, especially Moe. A couple of techs were around when we dropped off and we all joked around with each other about the groceries we took out of the trunk. A few days later my husband noticed the steering wheel was slightly off center. He called to ask about it and Moe said (on the afternoon of July 3, no less) to bring it in and he would look at it right away. We did, and they did. Fixed it quickly and free of charge. While my husband was waiting, he observed Moe take phone call after phone call, and he maintained the same level of courtesy with every single person. He said he overheard Moe speak with an elderly woman as if she were a relative. This Firestone is excellent, and I feel sure it is Moe's leadership and attitude that makes it so. My vehicle was dropped off to Firestone Auto Care on Carrollton last month for about a week of time to work on cv axel and control arms. Not only did they rear end someone/something in me vehicle while it was in their possession, they failed to alert me of the damage until I noticed it that day, and then refused to cover the cost of the damage done under their care. My front bumper is now misaligned as well as significant scratches on the front drivers side. Unprofessional, disrespectful, and careless. Never take your vehicle there. read more

I said I wouldn't write a review but after this situation , I feel like I have to. I brought my car in on Thursday August 28th. I brought it in because my Abs light, Traction control light, and limited slip differential light all came on at one time. The guy that took care of me told me a master mechanic comes in and can diagnose the Abs issue. I said no matter what, I need to replace the front and rear pads and rotors. on Saturday they told me they needed to order the pads and rotors directly from the dealership. I asked Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, and today (Wednesday) if the price given to me was to replace both front and rear pads and rotors.The answer I got all 5 times was yes. I also asked every single time if all the issues had been diagnosed. the answer every time was yes. well today is Wednesday when I pick up my car. when I called the last time, just to verify, I asked one last time, did we diagnose all of the issues. the answer was again, yes. When I arrive at the shop I was told that the lights have to do with a wheel speed sensor. So after all this time, and every phone call, I am told the original issue I came in for was not fixed and they just found out an hour before I got there. after having my car for 6 days. The manager did offer a discount on the wheel sensor that I have to go back in and have fixed. When I got to the car, I reviewed the work order..... that was never emailed to me like it usually is, and I see that only the front pads and rotors were replaced. I have never felt so scammed in my life. Not only will I never go to this Firestone again, I will never go to Firestone again. They also told me if I waited 2 days, they would get a better price for the pads and rotors. So the price of two brake pads and rotors with labor for my 2019 Veloster N was 1600. They asked me to wait until Wednesday and the price would go down 300. So I asked them to add a TPMS service. The same price as what the wheel speed sensor is. So long story short, and 1800 dollars later, the issue I went in for is not fixed. I got a sorry man. read more

Hands down best complete auto care service in city. Very busy location but Quality service every-time.

So first things first, this Firestone location is so understaffed that they do not take appointments. Instead, your best bet is to drop off your car in the morning and their mechanics will get to it when they can. I didn't know this prior to my first visit and was given an estimated wait time of 4 hours for just an alignment. I ended up waiting a little under 2 hours. If you have a simple repair and also choose to wait it out, their waiting room has some chairs, a TV, free Wi-Fi, and restrooms. A few months after my first visit, I noticed my steering wheel was significantly crooked. I came back for another alignment (my car has lifetime alignment with Firestone). Dropped it off around 8:30am on a Saturday and it was ready for pick up around 1pm. However, the steering wheel was still crooked (maybe even worse than before) so I brought it back a few days later. A huge thank you to Moe -- he kindly reassured me that they'd take another look. It ended up being around a 2 hour wait on a Monday afternoon. The mechanic discovered that I actually was missing a bolt in my lower control arm that he thinks was the problem. I had no idea how that could have happened and so they even pitched some theories to me. Anyway, they put in a bolt that they had in their stores and sent me on my way, free of charge. So grateful! And problem fixed! Like I said, the real downside is how understaffed and busy they get. But Francois and Moe have the best customer service. Hopefully I don't have a reason to be back here but if I do, I know I'll be in good hands! read more

Please remove your security nuts prior to service here. After two trips to Toyota of Slidell and over $100 in new security nuts and keys, they were finally able to remove them by destroying them. Overtorqued at Firestone after an alignment. They reimbursed me for my costs. However, they gave me nothing for my time, mileage, and gas. I also paid $10 extra for a general overlook. Told them of a sound I was hearing. Said it was my sway bar links. Got new ones an the sound persits. read more

I do try and be diligent about maintenance but alas I am pretty ignorant to car care outside of regular oil changes and my biannual visit to the Dr (dealership). Anyway. I needed tires. Found a decent deal with Firestone and spoke to Aaron. He gave me great advice on my car care and set me up with brand new tires. He even took a look at my son's Honda Accord and offered tips on care for that. If you've read my reviews, you would know that I had an another mechanic in the past. While the experience with them had been a good one, there were some mishaps. I feel more comfortable coming to a nationally recognized business. That doesn't mean I won't do business with local mechanics. I absolutely will. Overall, I had a great experience. Service was fast, friendly, and the mechanic is very knowledgeable. This review just covers the tire aspect of the business, I didn't have any other mechanical work done on my car. Had a damaged tire I needed replaced, so I called and they put the right size on hold. Dropped it off on a busy day, got the tire for less than I was quoted on the phone and it really didn't take that long. Invoice didn't have a bunch of sneaky charges added on or anything. I brought my partners car in to have two plugs removed from two tires and replace them with patches before a trip. Both plugs were in the tread and have been holding up well. They said it would be a while and I replied as long as it gets done today thats fine. I waited in the lobby for 4 hours and 52 mins before they said the car was ready. The same person then told me they don't remove plugs and replace them with patches. This would have been great know when I first came in and asked them to do that exact thing. They then tried to read off a quote for two new tires and a new battery. Huge waste of my time and speaks very poorly of them as a tire shop. If their techs aren't even capable of installing a patch on a tire how can you trust them to properly install tires, change your oil, or do a brake job. During my 4 hours and 52 mins of waiting,I overheard one of the techs say she did a complete service job on the wrong car. Then just said screw it, it'll be fine. I received some terrible news that my mother-in-law was sick and would have to make an abrupt 9 hour road trip to rural Tennessee... I'm nervous on long trips, and this would be my first solo trip, so I stopped at Firestone to get checked out before I got on the road. As typical with places like this, they do give you a long list of repairs you should get and they're quite pricey (just the nature of Firestone/the chain). I was just about to get my brakes repaired, when I get the call that my mother in law didn't have a lot of time left and might not be with us by the time I made the 9 hour trip. I feel super embarrassed about this, but I was overwhelmed and I broke down crying in the lobby. Francois was amazing and such a God-send. He got me a water and a towel, and took me outside to calm me down and talk to me to find out what was going on. When he found out, he offered to pray, and then put a rush on putting the car back together from the brake check, made sure wiper fluid and antifreeze were filled up, and tire pressure was good since I was going to Tennessee and it was cold. Francois then went above and beyond the call of duty and went to his car and brought me a rubber bracelet with "Strength" and Phil 4:13 verse on it to provide comfort for me during this trying time and during the drive. He then sat with me while I calmed down and was safe to drive, and gave me advice on how to do the trip so I was safe. I was able to make it safely to Tennessee, and while my mother in law did pass, she held on and I was able to spend one more day with her, and I'm very grateful for Francois and the guys at Firestone for making it possible. The services may be a little more pricey than others in the area, BUT you can't top that level of above-and-beyond customer service & care. So thank you, Francois! read more

Highly recommend going elsewhere! I made an online appt to drop off my car for an oil change, tire rotation, tire repair, and general diagnostics (relatively simple stuff). My appt was at 10am on a Friday. I dropped off the car. Nobody called to provide an update, so at 3:30pm I called to check-in. They said they were short-staffed but would have it finished between 6-7pm. I called from 5:30-6:30pm but nobody answered the phone. I chatted online with Firestone's corporate support, but they also couldn't get a hold of anyone at the store. At 6:45pm I got a ride up there and they still hadn't started, but the car was inside on a lift and they said they'd do it first thing Saturday morning. They open at 7am Saturday, at 8:30am I called and they hadn't started on it. I asked them to get my car off the lift and back it out so I could pick it up and they said OK. I Ubered up there and the car was still on the lift. I asked them to back it out and they said they couldn't find my keys. I started explaining to other customers what had happened and they finally found my keys and pulled my car around. I made an appt a week in advance, it was up there for almost 24 hours, and they didn't do any work. More frustrating was that there was no proactive or honest communication the entire time. "We're short staffed like the rest of the world." Even my Uber driver had a story about them not fixing his mothers car and then try to charge him for the same thing they did not fix! I made an appointment for this location. The Gen Degaulle store made me an appointment for the Carrollton store...how was I to know they don't care about their customers and randomly make appointments for other stores? I tried to give them benefit of the doubt but they absolutely ruined my road trip and caused me to be late, waste money, not make my hotel room in Texas. So I came here today with an issue with my BMW knowing what the issue was just to see what they would say. I heard the techs talking about my car and sayin there was nothing wrong with the brakes. I needed a control arm which at BMW is $167. They wanna charge me $576. I got the report back and they total out everything at $1,700+. All of a sudden my rotors, pads, and sensors need to be changed. I left BMW with a full service, brakes, oil, transmission, and tuneup about two weeks ago. They also said I need new tires, which I have fairly new ones now with about 7k miles on them. I must've looked like an idiot, so now I'm returning the favor. read more

So I brought my car here, not too long ago to get a diagnosis for a random misfire that my car was receiving and cooling/heating issue. I had brought my car to two other firestones prior, but their technicians were not in house to come and take a look at my car so I brought it to this one on Carrollton. Long story short, I basically brought my car in For $130 just to get told to sell it. I wanted my brakes inspected, and to get my AC fixed but they didn't even bother checking that. they couldn't even help me out in the slightest. They just basically stole $130 from me for no reason after keeping my car there all morning. First and last time ever using Firestone. Brought it to another mechanic and he got it working correctly for only $80. Y'all suck. read more

This place really knows how to push my buttons. I've been coming here for quite some time since living in Mid City, having spent thousands of dollars in repairs and preventative maintenance here so I know they are all too familiar with my car (which has been kept in pristine condition). I have almost 250k miles on my car, each of which I've put on myself. Like, if you didn't read the odometer, you probably would not believe my car has so many miles on it, well it does. And I haven't kept it running like this for this long if I didn't know what I was doing. I wake up early this morning to get here for another round of my preventative maintenance, only for them to tell me they won't touch my car because of how many miles I have on it. Well guess what, now they'll never touch my car again, for anything. Ridiculous. How can I keep my car running effectively if they won't even let me pay for the services I need? I wouldn't bring my car to this Firestone location if it was the only auto mechanic within 100 miles of me. I'm not even convinced this place employees actual mechanics--or anyone who has used a car before in their life for that matter. I brought my car early in the morning to get my brakes looked at. They told me the work would take a day tops and that there are 5 cars in front of me. Ok, that's fine. I call before they close that day, and there are 2 cars still in front of me. I call in the morning the next day and now there are 3 cars in front of me. Poof, a new car has appeared out of thin air. That's odd. Guess the only training the mechanics receive at this Firestone is wizardry. It has been 2 full days and my car is still not ready or even looked at. How can it take 2 full days to work through 5 cars? What are the mechanics getting paid for all day? Every time I call them to get an update, they spew lies, anger, and overall piss poor customer service. After 2 days of waiting for a common servicing, I drove to the shop and picked my car up. Can't say enough about the AMAZING service here. Front brakes went metal to metal upon arriving to nola new year's eve. Called New Years Day, and not only were they open but they checked out the truck, ordered the parts, called with a very reasonable quote, and completed the work before closing that day. Then were even open Sunday for us to pick it up. Also noticed uneven wear on the front tires and did an alignment and free tire rotation. Very kind and accommodating. Dropped my car off for tire rotation. Was advised I need 4 new tires. Also told one of electronic sensor was out so I purchased 4 tires and new sensor. They advised I need to change brake fluid. $1000 for all of this. Work was complete picked up car and noticed my air conditioner is not working but worked fine when I dropped it off. Brought it back. The said my compressor is out and the clutch is fried. But it worked fine when I dropped it off. No explanation but this is the second time that I dropped off my car for repair and when picking it up something else quit working. The cost is now $1500 dollars for compressor. . Does this sound unusual? I don't trust this place. Just searched google and now find thousands of complaints across the country from people using Firestone. If there was a possibility of giving zero stars this place has surely earned it. I called to schedule an apportionment for a diagnostic check/engine scan & oil change. I was directed to bring my car in anytime before 3 pm. Luckily I got off work early & was able to drop my car off at 1:30. 3 hours passed without hearing so much as a peep...so I decide to call and check up. At which point; I'm told my car is in line but hasn't had a chance to receive service. I inquire if service can be performed today...and no answer. Another 2 hours pass: still no call from the shop; so I call AGAIN to inquire ab a status update as I know the shop will be closing soon. At this point; I'm told they haven't had a chance to service my car & ask if it can stay over night. So my car was present for 5 hours & absolutely no service was performed: not an oil change or a diagnostic check up!! The lack of communication & ineptitude I've experienced at this place has ensured I will never return to this or any other Firestone. Wish I could say this was the only time I've received garbage customer service here. You'd be better served going elsewhere!! To add insult to injury; they try to offer free services for the inconvenience...as if I'd ever come back to this poorly run operation. Made that error once; won't be doing it again. read more

They tried to sell me a new tire after bringing in a loose wheel with a small nail in it. Claimed it was unrepairable, in addition to the tire being too old (2013), despite plenty of tread life, zero signs of deterioration, and the nail being well inside the belted tread area. A nearby Delta World patched it properly in 10 minutes. I have 15 years experience as an ASE certified mechanic, and I know how the business works; this wasn't a courteous recommendation based on facts, but rather a blatant attempt to sell unneeded work and scam a customer. read more

DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF OR YOUR POCKETS! The mechanics don't care and some are clueless. I took my 2013 Chevy Equinox to them and I regret it. I should have did some research first. First they had this little boy ( someone just hired) call me to tell me some bogus stuff and when I started asking questions his response was "I don't know ma'am this is what they told me to call and tell you" um instant red flag. After that they called to tell me that they ran a diagnostic when the computer reader and it came up with the same code I told and showed them. So he said we're going to try some things. Over the 3 days they tried multiple things and if it didn't work they still added it on to my bill and charged me for their mess up. Then they order a $900 computer for my vehicle and all of a sudden my car is "fixed" after. $2000 bill I was heated! Never again! Not in a million years would I recommend them. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. I took my car in for an oil change. Had 1 pm appt but my car wasn't finished until 5pm. Then a week later I heard dragging noise from my car and found that they didn't reattach the engine splash under my car correctly. Had to bring in so they could fix that and they didn't apologize or anything. Then same thing happened and I saw that the engine splash on the other side came undone. I contacted the main office and they made an appt for me to go back and the contact was the manager Billy. Even though this is the second time I have had to bring my car back, I still had to wait half an hour to get my car serviced. No apologies, no concern for all the time wasted so that I can pay $87.76 for an oil change. They are incompetent and could care less about the work they do. read more
