I had to wait a bit for an appointment, but I can understand why this place is busy! My issue was malfunctioning AC. - Very helpful friendly customer service - Handled my car troubles in a very reasonable amount of time - Text updates for upcoming appointment and work progress - Resolved the real issue an out of state mechanic misdiagnosed for a third of the price he estimated! I will definitely return to Dale's with confidence. read more

They charged me $850.00 to change one wheel speed sensor, because they had to extract one broken bolt on the sensor. Labor alone was $550.00 The diagnostic fee doesn't go towards your bill. The owner is very arrogant , when I complained about the price he said he's been in business for over 30yrs and he isn't going anywhere "Even though he told me he bought the business from Dale in 2019 and kept the name" Needless to say I don't recommend this shop. read more

Dales Quality Car Care - Repair receipt - Tires Near Me - Harvey, Louisiana

Amazing service! Probably one of the best experiences I've had at an auto mechanic. Very thorough and explained everything in detail, even brought me out to the garage and lifted up the car to show me exactly what was wrong. read more

Very helpful over the phone. Gave me good advice on tire issues, both efficient and economical.

The folks at Dale's have been great to us. We have taken both of our vehicles to them and they have always been so accommodating to our busy work schedules. The best part, in my opinion, is that I am able to ask and trust their opinions on any issues that have come up. I've had a tough time in the past finding honest mechanics and this shop is a shinning beacon. Instead of letting us spend unnecessary money on repairs, they helped us navigate maintenance issues and come to a solution that fit our budget and our needs. By far one of the best shops I've ever been a patron of. If you're looking for an honest reliable mechanic look no further than Dale's!! read more

After pushing off some needed TLC on my Subaru Wagon I finally had enough time and a decent amount of saved money to do the work required to keep her purring for hopefully a few more years. I dropped the car off after work just before they closed on a Tuesday and waited for the call to find out what all was a priority to fix. They did great work and kept it within the budget we set up, it took a few days longer than originally expected, but that was more because finding the parts needed for my older Subaru in the area was a chore (and then the parts supplier shipped the wrong parts initially) I'd trust them with any job needed on my car, and they'll probably be the first place I go the next time my car needs work. read more

These guys are great... I've been customer of Dale's since 2004 and I love Dale to pieces. Marc (Mark) is a great help as well... :-) read more

I had to go to these guys because I tried to install my brake pads and rotors myself. I got to a point where it was difficult and said you know what I need to call a professional. They saw me the very next day. It was a drop off with the expectation that it would be done later that day. I was in and out within an hour to an hour and a half while waiting. Can't guarantee that will happen every time but it seems like they took very good care of me I was able to bring in my own rotors and pads in the labor was only $105 plus tax to change the entire front. The price is the same for the rear. I would definitely go back for any vehicle maintenance with these guys read more

If you live in the New Orleans metro area and are looking for a good, honest and reliable mechanic shop then look no further than Dale's. My parents have been doing business with Dale's for close to twenty years now and I myself have been bringing my vehicles there since I started driving almost fourteen years ago. They offer a wide range of automotive services for your vehicle which include basic services such as oil changes, tire rotation, tire replacement, and brake work all the way to the more advanced services like diagnostic work, a/c work and engine or transmission replacement. All of the mechanics are very knowledgeable and will take time to explain to you exactly what is going on with your vehicle and what needs to be done to get it back safely on the road. What I appreciate the most about Dale's is their honesty when dealing with me. In all my dealings with them whether it was a simple oil change and tire rotation or when I needed my transmission replaced in my old truck I never left there feeling as if I was ripped off or sold something that I did not need. As a matter of fact it was the owner Dale who was completely honest with me when my old truck finally reached it's end that if I could afford it I should look into getting a newer used truck or even a brand new truck because it wasn't worth fixing and he didn't feel right having me continue to sink money into a vehicle that would continue to have problems based on how old it was and all the wear and tear it had accumulated. To me that speaks volumes to the type of business he runs. I know as long as I continue to live in the New Orleans area and Dale's continues to be open I will bring all my vehicles here for their maintenance and service needs and if anyone who reads this is unhappy with their current mechanic give them a try I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

My A/C wasn't blowing cold, we're full time RV'rs here from Mo. We made a appointment 2 days out, came in on time & they took me right in. Good to go now. Kept me updated on progress til finished. Did very good work. Would definitely recommend. read more

This review is way overdue, but my hair's been on fire over this and I wanted to calm down first. It's been six months. I took my truck to Dale's to get a second quote on the cost of repairing my air conditioning. I'd taken it to the dealership and the estimate was super high. I told this to the guy on the phone, as well as explaining the frustration of the dealership quote on top of all the other costs we had on our plate post-Ida, post-pandemic, and post recent surgeries. I wanted the guy to know from the outset that finances were an issue for us, indeed the very reason we sought a second quote. (Not having AC in the summer was brutal and limiting, so we wanted to make sure it wasn't an easy fix.) I spoke to the guy on the phone again when they were through with the truck. He told me the cost to fix it would be high, about the same as the dealership, and that he texted me a link to quote. I said that, of course, we would unfortunately have to wait to have it fixed. Little did I know that the link also showed diagnostic charges amounting to $298.75, being that the guy failed to mention this to me. My husband picked up the truck that afternoon, told it had cost $300, and asked what work they had done. I was floored, and immediately called. It rang and rang, and then it went to the voicemail of an individual, not a business. I called several more times that day, and the next. All the same. I double checked the number against my saved contact. Still no answer. Finally, I called from my husband's phone, and the guy picked up on the first ring. I was hopping mad and tried to untangle how they could charge me money without my consent. His explanation was that they had to do a diagnostic test and that "they don't work for free". My response to that flippant remark was that I don't expect anyone to work for free, but I do expect to be informed of, and give consent for, any charges. Otherwise, it isn't business, it's theft. He said he'd texted the link to me (and then recited my phone number, which made me feel even more certain that my calls had been intentionally dodged). The link was the same link that he told me was an estimate for work- this guy never once said there would be a charge, before or after. I railed that not even the dealership had charged for a diagnostic, and that if he had informed me of the charge in advance, I of course would never have had the second quote done, which he should know because I'd made our financial situation very clear. Business is an agreement, and I never agreed to any charges. If it will cost money to provide an estimate, inform the customer, and get consent. Dale's made an excruciatingly difficult time in life $300 harder, not to mention the anguish of feeling completely taken advantage of. I may not get back my $300, but I hope this review will save you yours. read more

I brought my car into there shop to be repaired, the gentleman told me he would have it repaired if I could leave it for two days and I agreed. I called up at three o'clock two days later and they hadn't even looked at the car! Apparently integrity and honesty aren't part of the business model at this Repair shop. I would avoid using them if you expect to have your car repaired at in a reasonable amount of time. read more

SCAM ALERT! Sidney the owner admittedly scammed my family. We took our vehicle in for AC repairs and was charged over $2600 to not have any AC on the 4th day after paying to get out vehicle out of the shop. He admitted to withholding information that he says was found toward the end of the job knowing that he would take our money and that the AC repairs were poorly done and that the AC would fail. This man talks in circles of all his knowledge of cars only to gain your trust and then knowingly rigs our vehicle and charged $2000 just toward labor (parts were under $600). When we took our vehicle back Sidney the owner did not stand by his work. He didn't take any accountability for not sharing all of the information concerning our repairs until we returned with the vehicle blowing hot air. This company took away my options as a customer just to get paid without offering me the fair and quality service that I deserve. Sid was heartless and maintained his stance on doing poor work by trying to justify his stance with redundant excuses. I am a very unsatisfied customer who is -$2600 (+sum) with nothing from this company trying to make things right. So very dishonest of him. read more

When my old Jeep started shuttering in lower gears I thought it was finally time to get a new car. But before that I took it to Dales. They are amazing! They are friendly, reliable, and trustworthy, and genuinely take pride in their work. Recently, I brought my vehicle here under new ownership. I brought it in for a simple diagnosis that I anticipated would cost around $100. The owner failed to adequately communicate with me (the car's owner) about the problem with my vehicle and instead opted to discuss it with a family member of mine as if I am incapable of making decisions. I even gave him my phone number and I verbalized that I am the owner of my vehicle and to please communicate with me. However, the owner told me that I suddenly owed him around $900 dollars for diagnostics and labor, which was not agreed upon by me. This was due to the lack of communication he had with me. During our phone conversation, I asked him if it were possible to buy aftermarket parts for my 2002 Acura since I didn't have the money to pay for dealership parts, but he refused and insisted on ordering dealership parts. Then I learned that he proceeded to install dealership parts and put it on my car anyway. After realizing all he had done, I decided to pay the entire bill to move forward from the situation. I arrived at the office and I calmly requested him to show me the parts that had been changed. He became agitated and only showed me some of the parts that had been changed. When I requested a copy of the itemized receipt, he got irritated and stated that dealing with me and the situation had been a headache. While he and I reviewed what parts had been replaced, he noticed that a belt tensioner component had not been changed but was added to my bill. He then took it off my bill. If I would have never asked to discuss the bill in detail with him, I believe I would have been charged more without knowing it. Then later I found out that he tried adding a fuel pump without my permission, but later took it off my bill, which I thought was really shady. I feel very disrespected by how he unprofessionally handled the situation and how rudely he talked to me. After paying him in full, the car still seems to still run with some of the same issues that made me bring the car in the first place. I am simply trying to protect the public from this individual who obviously loves to deceive hardworking people and steal their money. read more

I brought my wife's Nissan Rogue in to Dale's for an evaluation. The technician was very honest and everything was well documented and forward... nothing hidden. Sidney had photos of the problem areas and I felt well informed. I was impressed by the quality of care that I received and I was still in the lobby. The office and shop were spotless! Fast, efficient repairs and honest, professional service. What more can you ask for? Brought my car in to have the air conditioning fixed, but they do a little of everything. I took my Chevy Silverado to a very near Chevy Dealership and they checked my truck and stated that my engine was blown and it would cost me 10K to replace. I stated thanks but no thanks I then called Dales Quality Car Car only one mile away from the dealership and they serviced the truck and found that it was only lifter spring. Part cost $5 bucks. Dales repaired the truck and completed a high mileage oil change in the same day and I am back on the road rolling I walked out the door with the best service ever and they are great people that truly dedicate themselves to ensure you are taken care of. My cost including labor was less than replacing tires on you Car $450.00. read more

The customer service I received was great! The staff was very friendly and honest! If they can't take on your car they won't sell you dreams! Properly diagnosed a problem with my tire that had lost its sidewall integrity. Dale was honest enough to tell me that he couldn't get my tire for a couple weeks so I ordered it from another place and had him install it professionally. Nice guy that has a staff that does quality work. read more

VERY considerate individuals. I only take my car here. Once, after a service on my braakes during me ride home from the shop, my turn signal went out so I quickly took it back. Upon arriving they asked how they could help and when I asked to buy a turn signal bulb from them to put in they said "no way we'll just throw that in for you no charge". Only thing, you leave your car parked outside overnight and while they have a security camera watching it, I was always wary of my car being broken into. read more

I'm not sure how well the service is. But I can't get passed the phone. My vehicle is having a/c issues and I was only looking for an idea of what it would be to repair. The guy on the phone just says $98.99 and 2 days to diagnose the issue. A quote would give me a ballpark of what it could be. But 2 days to diagnose sounds crazy. On top of that I believe a auto repair shop can give you an idea over the phone, especially with specific information. I've moved on to the dealership. I'll spend much more, but after calling twice I can't give these guys my business. read more

1st time bringing my car to Dale's - he was highly recommended by co-workers. I had noise in rear of car, Dale found that my car dealership had either not tightened or did not put the bolts back on after I had them change my brakes. Dale immediately fixed the problem while I was at work saying that he could not let me take my car out of the shop because it was too dangerous. I was so grateful that he found the problem and immediately fixed it. Very honest and professional - would highly recommend! read more

Best mechanics. After horrible experiences at a few Tire Kingdom's, I came here. Should have come here first. I would give 10 stars if I could! Hands down, the best trip I've ever made to have an auto repair made. Honest, trustworthy, personable, full of integrity, kind....just to name a few words to describe Dale and his employees. I'm new to the area and know nothing about auto repairs. They found and fixed my issue promptly and while I was waiting were kind enough to tell me about the area. Started my Monday morning with nails in my tire. Mark & Jacob at Dales on Manhattan promptly plugged my tire and, without asking, checked the tire pressure on the other tires. Great honest and fast service! Recently had a few Craigslist auto repair guys give me estimates and they were all more expensive than this place. When I called and stopped by the owner was actually onsite and seems to care about his business. I already have more work scheduled since I think the costs are reasonable and that the service is honest and friendly. read more

This place came highly recommended from the shop where I usually get my oil changed, unfortunately when I went in to make an appointment the man behind the counter was incredibly condescending. Excellent service! I drive an Acura TL. Brought my car to dealership for oil change, tire rotation, and asked them to check my air because it would blow cool air one second and hot air the next. When I brought my car to dealer to be serviced my air was working. Next day was told my air was completely out and that I needed a new compressor which would cost me about $1800. After questioning how this was possible when my air was working when I brought it to them they dropped the price to $1450. Took it to Dale's to have it checked on a Saturday and he was honest and told me to bring it back on Monday because they were swamped. Brought the car back to Dale's and after it being checked was told it more than likely was not my compressor that was the issue but the expansion valve needed to be replaced. Expansion valve was replaced and viola!! AIR!!!! Not to mention it was a whole lot cheaper than having my compressor replaced by the dealership service dept who then would have told me I needed my expansion valve replaced. I highly recommend Dale's Quality Care Care! read more
