I would not recommend this Firestone location under any circumstances. I'm here for work, 1,000 miles away from my family, and I rely on my vehicle every day. Despite explaining my urgent situation--and a known leak issue diagnosed back in the fall in my home northern state that routinely gets snow in the winter --I was met with nothing but delays and indifference. I dropped off my vehicle at 8 a.m. with the clear expectation of a prompt service, only to be told by an employee that he'd get back to me "in a few hours." When I called at 2:45 p.m., I was informed, "Nothing we can do. We'll get to it when we can." After my co-workers had to bring me back at 5:30 p.m., I reluctantly rescheduled the appointment for the next morning. The same cycle repeated the following day. Finally, after continuous follow-up calls, I was told around 3:30 p.m. that they couldn't find the leak and that the system was recharged with dye--before being instructed to return if the AC ever started blowing hot. Fast-forward six weeks: After another 8 a.m. drop-off and numerous calls, I finally spoke with Denick. He explained that a technician had determined the evaporator coils were leaking and that the o-rings needed to be replaced. When I inquired about the availability of the o-rings, Denick dismissed my concerns with a sarcastic remark: "it's Louisiana, it gets hot here." Adding insult to injury, I later took my vehicle to another mechanic who determined that the o-rings do not need to be replaced at all. Between the repeated delays, lack of proper communication, and the dismissive attitude toward my urgent work-related situation, I am extremely disappointed with the service at this location. If you depend on your vehicle for work and value timely, competent service, I recommend steering clear of this Firestone location. read more

We made the appointment online w/no hassle. We showed up a few minutes early with the intention of killing a few minutes across the street where my son picked up a pair of work shoes. Sometime less than an hour later, our car was parked in front of the shop. I assumed this was bad news because the pleasant young lady at the counter told me it would be about two hours to complete the work before I told her I had replaced the entire front end to which she only replied that it would probably be less. The mechanic went over the entire alignment report with me and verified my repair work. The staff were all well versed in there jobs, professional and friendly - all qualities sorely missing in today's businesses. In the hurry to get his car back, my son left his new shoes in the lobby. Of course they had them the next day, tucked away for him. These guys are top notch. Left truck for alignment and sat in the parking lot for 4 hours, upon me calling they said it would be done in 1 hour more, i arrive an hour later just to realize it hasnt even been brought in for service got a sob story about an inexperienced mechanic i assumed i spoke with the manager because he said he would get the truck in and have me out of there in 20 minutes, 2 hrs waiting in the lobby telling me 15 more minutes every 15 more minutes only to get the same answer "they are just checking the bolts are tight enough and its coming down" they checked the bolts being tight for 2 hrs ever 15 minutes..... i do not recommend this place in the lobby with me there were 5 More customers who had their car all day in shop for service that would other wise in another establishment with more experienced personel take 2 hours top I honestly give them 1 star because i cant give them negative stars... read more

I called today around noon, needing 4 new tires for my SUV. The gentleman I spoke with verified the tires I needed, gave me a price, and let me know they could squeeze me in if I could get there before 2. I arrived around 1:30. They said they would call me when it was ready since it would take several hours. I let them know I would be staying to wait. At 3:00 my car was done. The tires I got were on sale which was nice. They did not try to upsell me on anything, simply gave me what I asked for. I was using my spare tire when I came in and they put it back where it needed to go for me. The store was clean, the waiting area was small but also clean. I would highly recommend them. read more

I purchase 4 new tires about 3 months ago from this Firestone Complete Auto Care on LaPalco in Gretna. I purchased the warranty so If I had any problems with the tires I could go have it fixed. Twice I've gone to them with nails in a tire. Both times I was told they were too busy and If I left the car, they might get to it in 2-3 days. I Don't recommend this Firestone Tire Company at all. read more

My girlfriend needed a new tire and I decided to go to Firestone. The mistake was not putting my phone number down when the Store called. Good way to lose someone's business is charging $78 for changing a license plate bulb. How long does that take you 3 minutes? I hope the extra money was worth it. We will not be back for business. Follow up: my husband went a few weeks later to have our Jeep's tires aligned and rotated. He knew about my experience so marked the tires and lo and behold they did NOT do the rotation. We wonder about the alignment as well since the Jeep has been undrivable over 50 miles/hour, it starts shaking uncontrollably! We have lifetime alignment because we bought the tires there but will NEVER go back. We'll pay for another garage to service it once we find someone more trustworthy. read more

After dealing with the unprofessionalism from the Gen. DeGaulle Firestone, I decided to try the Gretna Firestone. So glad I made the switch! The attendants are friendly, helpful, and professional. This is the 2nd or 3rd time my vehicle's received services here. Whether I wait for my car or leave it, I never wait long for services. A few days ago, my car's air conditioner went out. Firestone found the problem and fixed it. So glad I didn't have to go to the Chevy dealership (that's another review). I've been here a few times to get my car serviced and they have always been accommodating. I've had oil changes, ac cooler fixed, and needed the battery wire to be adjusted. Their rates are very decent and take time and dedication in ensuring your car is well taken care of. They are also thorough in explaining what needs to be done. The only thing is, be prepared to wait or having someone come with you. This way you can get dropped off and come back when your car is ready for pick up. read more

The BEST service I've ever gotten.... Let's just say I'm a pain in the a&$ customer. I don't mean to be! I really don't...but when it comes to getting tires for my SUV, I procrastinate and have so many questions. Buying a whole set of tires is just SO EXPENSIVE!!! Mr. Mannie who works here (I think he's the manager?) has gotta be the most patient and non-pushy employee ever. I've asked for quotes over and over for different tires, to find the best ones with being as cost efficient as could be. I think it took me a few months to finally make a decision. He ordered the tires, they came in the next day, and voila. His recommendation on what was best for my car was on point! He knows what he's doing! He recommended the Bridgestone brand after I told him about what worries me most (hydroplaning, wear and tear, getting the most mileage etc). They put air in it and the other tires, checked all for wear (I already knew I was over due for several new tires). We discussed tire/price options. Went in to get my rack and pinion fixed on a Tuesday, but the next day my car was still making noise. Took it back 2 days later and they said to bring it in Saturday and they would take care of it free of charge. Was told multiple times it'd be done by Saturday easily, then get a call they need it till Sunday. Sunday get a call that they needed to keep it for lack of parts and would have it done Monday before 5 since I work nights. Called Monday morning, said they'd have it done by 5. No call and when I showed up at 6:20, needing to go to work and was told at 5:15 when I called that it'd be done in an hour, they go and tell me they need another half hour. Ended up almost being late and having to get a ride. Frustrated with the terrible service and don't ever plan on coming back. read more

Not a huge fan of chain retailers but I trust Firestone! As a chic going to a car repair shop alone you can get ripped off and I've dealt with Firestone alot for my work vehicle(s). They got me in for an oil change without an appointment on a Saturday! Within 90 mins I was on my way out. The great part is that I was concerned about my brakes. The manager said it would take a long time to check them fully (remove tires) but after my oil change he told me he took a preliminary look and they look fine. He continued and asked me why I was concerned about them and then explained the causes of the brakes locking up. Seriously, this dude couldve taken me for new brakes, pads, whatever else goes there and I wouldve thought I was being a responsible car owner, instead he chose to take his time to look at my brakes himself and discuss them with me, advising me of the problem and not concerned with raising his sales! I will return to this particular location because I was just so impressed and feel so confident with their customer service and quality work! read more

My wife and I have been using Firestone for quite some time. I have always enjoyed the weekend serviceability as it is hard for us to take off work for service. This last trip to Firestone was one of those that reassured me of why we do business with this specific branch. We had an issue with our brakes, they found a rock in the calipers and removed it. I recently needed two tires replaced on my car and the first place I decided to go to get them was firestone. They are always extremely helpful and friendly. Not only were my tires replaced with ease, but they gave me a warranty on them, in case I get a flat or have a blowout and need a tire replacement. They make the stressful situation of needing new tires a lot less stressful with their knowledge and the ease of which everything is handled. But I got tires from them the end of this past year, and as I go to pick my car up, one of the managers informs me that one of the tie rods is cracked and that they need to replace it for 250 some odd dollars. I told them that I would wait till I had the time to do so. Took my car to three other places to see if they could see this "cracked tie rod" and they could not find ANYTHING that was cracked. Completed one alignment on my car. Spec sheet proved it was not done properly, and extremely out of allowable specifications, had to take it back next day. Since I bought the life time alignment I went back 3 months later. They told me they couldn't get my car (00 civic on tein coilovers) on the rack, even though no suspension changes were made. Dropped my car off at 8:50am and had to call them to pick it up at 4:15pm to which they told me "we just backed it off the rack and couldn't get it up". They are friendly, professional, and give detailed estimates, which I find extremely helpful. They've always been honest, which is so difficult to find in the auto repair business. I've dealt with the same two gentlemen for a few years now. They recognize me when I walk in, and always have a friendly greeting and a smile. They do quality work, and, in spite of never having an appointment when I've needed repairs or tires, they've gotten my vehicle in and out much more quickly than any other auto repair I had gone to before -- and I've never had to leave my vehicle overnight. One other thing, which I consider a great perk, is that the waiting area is always clean and comfortable, so even if I do ever have a longer than usual wait, I'll feel right at home. In fact, the last time I was there I asked if I could charge my cell phone while I waited, and the nice gentlemen working with me replied with a smile, "Of course! This is *your* Firestone." read more
