The store manager who I had spoken to on the phone before I drove over came right out to help. They were very busy but the guy that I talked to on the phone was also the guy that helped me when I got there. Both times he was patient in explaining procedures and materials and was very cheerful. Is there a zero star for zero service? Last time my son had his oil changed was two years ago because he's been working from home since COVID. He just went in and the oil plug was stripped. They told him to go back to whoever did the oil change last time because they stripped it. GUESS WHAT? THEY DID THE OIL CHANGE! When he told them that, he was told too bad because it's been two years. Aren't they the ones that said to go back to where it was done before because it's their fault? Went in to get my car diagnosed because I told them sometimes my car wouldn't turn on and I know for a fact that it's not my battery because it's a new battery. They ran the test and they tell me it's my battery I told them I'm 100% sure it's not is there anything else it could be. They tell me it's what the report says. Got a flat tire on Thursday night and didn't notice till Friday. Because of the snow on Friday, I didn't feel like going out after work, so I decided to get the tire fixed on Saturday. There was a big gash on the sidewall of the tire, but still some air, so I drove about 500 ft to the Firestone. I probably should have changed out the spare but I was pretty lazy. Anyway, I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I walked to the Walgreen's and by the time I was done browsing, they called me back. I like the service here, folks are always very friendly. They have always been honest with me, and never pressure me into getting any unwanted services done. I usually just go in for oil changes as they have good coupons, but they have fixed tires for me as well. The shop is clean (important!) and every time I go the individual working on my car is respectful with it and seems to be familiar with what they are doing. It's not often that a service business won't take of advantage of a customer if they have the opportunity to do so. My Subaru has 44,000 miles, and I thought it was just "time" for new brakes. What a great surprise to find out my brakes were fine! Firestone could have made some money by lying to me by telling me I needed $600.00 worth of work done. I was also pleasantly surprised when I said I was going to go next door to Jiffy Lube for an oil change because I had a $10.00 coupon. They said they'd give a $15.00 coupon & are cheaper than JL anyway! Very very pleased with these guys. Highly recommended! read more

Friendly staff and quick service. Took my truck in because it was making a ton of noise when I was turning. Gave my suspension a full inspection and rotated my tires for a very small fee. Discovered that my left rotor was in bad shape so they replaced. At no point did they try to upsell me or charge me for anything extra. Would go with them again. read more

Recently, my check engine light was on so I took my car to Firestone to have them fix it. They hooked it up to their computer to do a diagnosis and found that I had a bad sensor. They supposedly repaired it, but the following day I was driving home from work and my car stalled on me on a major road causing me much humiliation and about 3 hours out of my day. They did tow the car back to the shop and proceed to say they fixed some wire in the car and that it was all better, but two days later the check engine light came back on and the car stalled again. We finally took it to the dealer and they repaired our car and said that the sensor they said they replaced was never replaced. They lied to us when they said that they fixed our car after them having 2 chances at fixing it plus they told us something else was going bad on the car and if we didn't fix it within 6 months our tire rod would break. Well, the dealer said that it was perfectly fine and there was nothing wrong with it. Get a second opinion if you are going to use them!!! read more

Came into the Hanover Park location to get a fairly simple job done, or so you would think... All i needed was the back brakes replaced, and the rotors cut if possible. Of course they went ahead to do their "complimentary brake inspection", and told me that to replace the brakes they would need to replace the rotors, calipers, and do a brake fluid exchange all at an amazing price of $771.00, mind you this is with a coupon that I had for $50 off per axle. I obviously declined all work, for that price I could get brakes that would last me 100 years. The classic bait and switch, turns out this is a very common practice by auto repair shops to say your calipers are "seized". Avoid these scumbags who try to take advantage of you. read more

Lost a customer today! Spoke to someone earlier in the week was quoted for $150 for rear brake pads. Called this morning to see if I could have the work done. Was told to drop it off by noon. Got a call at 4:25 (1/2 before they close) with their estimate of $300+ and was told they would not be able to perform the work today. (Having full expectations the work would get done being they accepted me for an appointment.) I told them I just wanted pads done. I inspected the rotors myself a week ago they were fine and consistent with having 40,00 miles on them. It was explained to my that after cutting the existing rotors they would warp within weeks. Having some knowledge myself, the rotors would have be fine not being cut. I was then told ok, just rear pads then it will be $200. I further challenged the fact I was told there was a special this month and they could do it for $150 over the phone. So apparently we just charge whatever we feel like at any given time? These pads can be purchased at rock auto for $30. I get the labor and operating costs however, this was very deceptive. Only went there for the sake and was willing to pay for the convenience. The only positive thing I can say is the manager remained professional after I let him have a piece of my mind. He tried his best to make the situation right. I just cant give business to a company that will operate with dishonest practices. Hate to see what they would have done to somebody who is clueless about cars. Must have been a bad day there, the other 2 customers waiting didn't appear to be pleased either with their experiences. read more

Very knowledgeable and professional staff. Went in for two new tires and was pleased when they didn't try to sell me more tires than I needed or try to pressure me to purchase more expensive tires. They examine everything thoroughly and point out the current condition of various parts but again don't pressure you if you choose to not have the work done at that time. I feel they are very honest which is important to me. Have gone there for years and will continue to do so. read more

I would absolutely not suggest going to this Firestone in Haover Park, IL. My girlfriend setup an appointment to have tires replaced on her Hyundai SUV. After her scheduled appointment, she soon found out that there was a lot of upselling involved. Unfortunately, she ended up paying for a new coolant system that did not need be replaced. She had no prior symptoms an overheating engine - it was not needed. She also ended up paying for an alignment. Tire replacement does not always require an alignment. In most cases it is not needed and you would know as the car would pull to one side and she did not experience this while driving either. Furthermore, she was given an estimated time to pickup the car. to later find out it would not be finished for another hour. She had to wait an additional hour after she was told a second time when it would be finished. It is very disappointing to find out later she was informed the cooling system and alignment needed to be done and it clearly did not. Whether or not she would have asked another source or did research further before they completed the jobs, it is very disappointing to see Firestone take advantage of the situation. Taking the risk to make quick business is only going to hurt you in the long run, while customers will not return treating them like this. read more

I hate this firestone. I called yesterday and made an appointment for today at 10am. I dropped the vehicle off at 945am. They took and for a brake inspection and inatall new front pads and rotors. They called at 11am ans sais that the rears need done also. I said i will be there at 2 to look at ilthe rears make sure but please move forward with the fronts. At 2 pm. I got there and the fronts were not done.i gave them the approval to do the backs at this point. They said they would have it ready at 5pm. Only 1 guy working in back 2 guys sitting in the front doing nothing. I told them im bringing another car at 4 to do a coolant flush. All was fine. At 4 i brought the other car they did that one. And never even touched the brake job. I finally said just put my wheels back on and i would take it somewhere else. His only excuse was that he has been busy. He did nothing and acted as he didnt care. They put the wheel on and i left. read more
