After browsing in the showroom and picking the fire that we loved we bought it and it was fitted.
After the fitters had left the house we had a problem with our hot water and central heating, we had to pay british gas to come out and fix it, the fire fitters had not switched it back on correctly when they left.
shortly after the fire had been fitted we contacted the shop as the flames were not being distributed around the fire as they were in the showroom. we were told that maybe the coals were in the wrong place and to move them.
then we began having problems with soot. soot was covering the coals and when burning and falling off was blocking the ignition and stopping the the fire from lighting.
we contacted the shop again who sent the fitters out to have a look who immediately blamed us for soot saying we had moved the coals. they cleaned up the soot and moved the coals back to original way and left. shortly after we had the same problem again, flames in the wrong place, soot covering the coals and blocking the ignition and the fire beginning to look like we had had it for years and years.
when contacting the shop again to speak to the manager he told is there was nothing wrong with the fire and and was very rude and unhelpful, he even sarcastically suggested we go down to the shop for a cup of tea. he reluctantly then said he would come out next week to see the fire.
he arrived the week after and again said there was nothing wrong with the fire, dispite us showing him pictures of the fire in the showroom and comparing them to our fire. he appeared completely uninterested in the complaint and couldnt wait to leave the house, he said he would get the fire fitters to come out again tomorrow and have another look........................................ watch this space!!! read more
