Chuck, the owner is great! However, he was booked, so I went with someone else. Not really happy with my tattoo. Plus, this particular tattoo "artist" didn't listen to what I wanted. I'm done with tattoos. Chuck or nothing!!! read more

My girlfriend and I came in with our friend as walk ins yesterday with super simple tattoos for all of us. We asked about pricing as well because we are from St. Louis. Mike was the artist we talked to. I want to preface that I was the one who chose this shop because my father is a chief in Saint Louis and I will always choose to support FD when I can. Our friend talked to the artist first and wanted a little tattoo on the back of her calf that the artist himself even said didn't look like it would even be a $100 tattoo. They were struggling with sizing because she didn't want it to go half way up her calf. The artist said he was not going to make it any smaller and they agreed on the size. She went back with Mike and he placed the stencil on her and was about to start getting the needles and everything set up before our friend could even look and see if she liked the placement. Obviously it's on the back of her calf so it's not like she could see it while he was placing it. He said "I mean I guess" and let her get up and look at it. With the way it was placed she did not like the way it was placed and she asked if he could move it down a little bit. He basically told her "I already placed the stencil so I'm going to get paid either way". So she decided to not get the tattoo. She paid $100 Then My girlfriend and I went back with simple tattoos that would be shop minimum. I had no shading on my tattoo At all. And it took him a total of 20 mins MAX to do my tattoo. No color. No shading. Literally two inches big. On the side of my wrist. My girlfriend then laid down. She got one about 3 inches big. All black with very minimal shading. Again it took like 20 mins to do the tattoo. And when I say my girlfriend has a 8 hour colored and shaded 1.5 feet floral piece that she sat through with no problem on her thigh but this dainty ass tattoo hurt her so bad that she was pool blood by the time we even left says a lot for his tattoo styling. Once we were ready to get out we were fully prepared to pay minimum and get the hell out of here because it was a terrible experience. He then told me it would be $150 each. Which was a complete rip off and if I could give 0 stars I would. I literally feel like he saw 3 young girls and immediately had the mindset of "easy money". You should not run a business around greed instead of ACTUAL customer satisfaction and consideration. read more

Mikey has done many of my tattoos for the last 3 years and is very versatile in different styles of tattooing. Super clean work!

I was there earlier because my son karate chopped my nose piercing and I was struggling. The place was extremely professional, they had everything clean. Jerry made me feel extremely comfortable as well as his beautiful wife, I was there for a few minutes but it felt more like a hang out. That truly helped as I struggle with severe anxiety, will most definitely be back as well as recommend! Thank you!! read more

Got my cartilage earring placed by Jerry. Had him pick the color opal and he gave me two new earlobe piercings as well and the placement is spot on in such that the earrings are fashionable and will never go out of style. He's your guy for piercings. He takes good care of his business too- very clean. read more

What's the point of putting down a deposit and having a scheduled appointment time (since June)if you have to wait for walk ins before you? I waited for 2 hours for a scheduled appointment with deposit. My appt time should be honored. I understand waiting a few minutes; I'm not unreasonable but waiting 2 hours when I have a scheduled appointment? I wasn't a walk in and I was on time. I asked the employee if I can reschedule because I had things to do. He said he was finally done at 3 after taking 2 people before me. Yet, they were still there and he hadn't even begun to trace mine out yet. Should a 1 appt for a small tattoo really last until 4 or 5? Do you really expect me to tip? Bad vibes. By that time I was annoyed and upset and took off. A simple dad tattoo and a 1 appt should not make me carve out hours of time. My time is valuable too. I was doing this tattoo for my bday and to honor my dad. Super disappointing experience. I got my ear pierced by Jerry and he is awesome. He was professional, kind and kept to my appt time. That's why I came back for a tattoo but unfortunately my experience wasn't good. I am going to call to see if I can get my deposit back. read more

THE WORST tattoo experience. I would give Mike a zero star if I could. My mom just lost her dog and I wanted to get a similar tattoo that were both very small. We had pictures and only one needed initials added to the design. We did a walk in and I thought it would be pretty cheap because my tattoo only took a half hour at most. I was charged $150 and that is usually a city rate for a full hour. My mother got two small simple tattoos and was charged $200. Again less than an hour for her too. Our mistake was that we didn't ask for the price before but I have a lot of tattoos and thought this was going to be pretty cheap and easy. He was on his phone and seemed to take way longer than what was necessary. Kinda felt like stalling. I also have a pool of blood in my santiderm and I never have that. We felt used and would never go back to him. read more

I received and amazing design from Brandon. This guy has crazy talent as a tattoo artist and a gentle hand for an almost painless experience. read more

I went there with my sister to get an estimate for some tattoos. One of the artists, not sure who cause I never got a name. He basically rejected her whole tattoo idea because in his words "her darker complexion" would make the tattoo come out as a blob because it had too much black ink. I'm not sure if he had no experience tattooing on black people or what. We went to three other shops after who ALL said that the tattoo was doable. Let me also add that this place is EXTREMELY over priced. A $120 hourly rate. He said that the artists like to rush through the tattoos to get them done because they are booked up. Not a good look. I wanted a simple name in cursive and I understand paying the shop minimum. But I'm not paying 120 dollars for something as small as what I was looking to get. Thankfully we found another place to go. read more

Great atmosphere, amazing staff, even better service! This is my go to for all things piercings/jewelry and tattoos.

Worst place ever I called and asked for a hand tattoo and they said it's first come first serve I asked what time were you closing he said 8 I got there at 6:30 he's like oh everybody's gone why when I called wasn't that explained nobody has gas to just got back and forth like that last minute. Whatever just make sure you guys ask more specific questions. read more

Zach did a small tattoo on my wrist. Great service, price and atmosphere! Definitely going back to him for my next tattoo.

Jerry is the best! Went in with some fucked up piercings and he helped me out soooooooo much, I swear I've never been more appreciative of anyone haha. Can't wait to get a piercing actually done by him sometime soon! read more

I had a horrible experience at this place. When I walked in I could feel the vibe that I wasn't welcomed. I was half-ass greeted and The tattoo artist there wouldn't give me an estimate of my tattoo because of how dark my skin was. He stated that my tattoo would become a but black blob when it healed. The man that was speaking made the comment that the artist there rushes through the tattoos that they do. I wouldn't recommend anybody going there to get their tattoos done especially if you have a darker skin tone. P.S. I went to three other tattoos shops and they all said that the tattoo would come out fine. read more

Just don't! No one is wearing a mask, no sanitizer anywhere around! Went there for an estimate and an idea of a simple tattoo and was told it wasn't possible! Wasn't even offered other options. They have a $100 deposit on all tattoos no matter the size but no way of accepting a credit card at the shop, some how it has to be emailed to you and you get back to them... you get the picture..just don't! read more

My brother & I have been planning to get a tattoo for awhile & decided on Firehouse Tattoo. What a perfect experience for two new comers. The owner did both of ours & while waiting I picked out a 2nd one & he even stayed late to do it. Clean place. Spotless even. And Chucks assistant Anthony was such a friendly guy that made us feel instantly comfortable. Can't say enough about this place. I'm not a big review writer but really felt this place deserved to know how happy we are. read more

Firehouse tattoo seems like a decent place and there are nice people working there, but I had a not so good experience with my artist. I sent Art a picture ahead of time, maybe a day or two before wanting to come in. When we arrived, he had nothing ready. It took him 4 hours, 4, to draw out my idea, that was pretty much already done by me. I just wanted help tweaking it. Then another hour, hour and half to actually do the tattoo. The tattoo is the size of my palm with not a lot of detail. He kept tweaking ideas and got aggravated when I said I preferred something else. He made it a little bigger than I wanted and charged more than what I said I had a budget for. My fault for not speaking up, but I just wanted to get the fuck out of there. Bad mouthed other employees and for that 4 hours talked to other customers and employees when my tattoo could have been drawn and done with. Just disappointed that I got stuck with him. Just think its rude to keep someone there that long when its unnecessary. read more
