I shouldn't have to discuss my medical conditions with the staff when I order gluten free bread. They asked if it was an allergy or a preference. I said allergy because cross contamination is dangerous and can cause problems. They he asked again because if it's an allergy, because he has to change gloves and wipe down the surfaces. They ignored us when we came in and had conversations with each other about how there was no business today... so we ordered through the stupid kiosk. The whole interaction with the staff was bad. Great subs soft fresh bread not dry with good flavor. You don't need a large drink with the sub like other sub shops

I ordered a whole sub for takeout. My order was for an Italian sub on white with everything on it, cold. When I got home I had a white sub roll with meat and cheese. No vegetables or dressings. Obviously not what I ordered. For $13.00 I expect to get a complete sandwich, not just bread with meat and cheese. When I called to ask about the missing ingredients, the only thing they could offer was for me to drive to the location a second time with the sandwich so they could finish making my original order. This is not the first time I have had problems at this location. A few months ago I called in a takeout order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I live 10 minutes away from the location. When I got there no sandwich. I waited twenty minutes waiting for my sandwich to be made. During this time I watched others come in order and get their sandwich's. A few weeks ago I ordered my usual Italian sub, cold. When I picked it up it was toasted and hot. When I got home I put the sandwich in the refrigerator to cool before eating my sandwich. The service was terrible. We came in at 6pm this evening and waited about 5 mins for our food. Something wasn't right on the sandwich, which was no problem. The problem was the staff. There was a female staff who was talking very loud and cussing while customers were in the store. She also told her other coworkers she'll do whatever she wants. Went to firehouse on Ridge rd, as it's normally a cut above most sandwich shops, but this location has gone downhill badly. Poorly made, center-loaded sandwiches that look thrown together, soup that tasted vinegary and disgusting, wrong size sandwich on one, and no pickles with any of it- even though it's a normal addition. The greeting I got was tired and ho-hum, and the atmosphere was kinda grey and depressing. I guess them getting rid of the hot sauce bar is the least of their problems. I think the Rock road branch is still good. I'll go there next time. read more

This is a tiny store! Not many customers were here when I walked in. The staff was leaning on the counter, chatting. Nobody welcomed me, which is disappointing, because they sure looked like they could use the business. I guess since the place is new, they haven't learned the cheery greeting yet. Decent sub, I nice change from the cardboard Subway bread. Service is a little slow, but not too bad. I wasn't impressed, though, with the cleanliness. There were crumbs around the ledge of the counter, and I saw 3 or 4 pull tabs to the tops of sauce containers laying around as well. This was early in the day, like 11-ish, so I was a little surprised to see it that messy. What store managers may fail to see is that people tend to equate the attention you'll pay to the cleanliness of their food to how well you keep the store clean. I'll most likely be back, but hope to see some improvements. There also seems to be some confusion around why customers stand at the online order rack. Perhaps an instructional sign or something if you want customers to do something different. read more

I love firehouse subs but this location is the world's slowest location known to man. Hard to eat here on my lunch break which sucks because they're so close. I've been waiting over 20 minutes for a single sand which. And even when I order ahead it's either missing the pickle or I'm still stuck waiting. So we just finished our dinner and absolutely had to write a review. We have been traveling back from visiting family for the past 16 hours and are operating on about 5 red-eye sleep hours. We were famished but at the same time all we wanted to do was go home and get in pajamas. We live close to the airport, so opted to swing by the Firehouse Subs on Ridge Road and grab a couple sandwiches to go. We ordered two pretty standard sandwiches, and I told them we didn't want the pickles. We get the sandwiches and bring them home, only to find out that the only topping on both sandwiches was cut up pickles. Being as exhausted and hungry as I was, I was near to tears and demanded we call them. When we got someone on the phone, we asked for a manager. As it turns out, the woman who answered was actually the owner. We explained the sandwich, and she asked how we would like it corrected. We explained our situation and why we did not want to leave home, and asked for a refund instead of going and exchanging the sandwiches. Instead, she offered to deliver the sandwiches. We of course were thrilled. Less than 20 minutes later, her husband was at our door with our correct sandwiches. They were fresh and warm and positively delicious, exactly what we needed after our long day. I have been to a lot of firehouse subs locations and never been given a number to get my sandwich. I have been waiting 15 minutes for my lunch. DO NOT come here if you are in a hurry. It was my first time eating here and the lady that took my order actually talked with me giving me her opinion on what her and the other young woman working liked. Had no idea how big a large sub was going to be so had to take some home. They were very nice and helpful! The old man and I tried something different tonight on our way to one of our regular joints, Firehouse Subs. We have had them before, but that was back when I was working overnights, and everything pissed me off. The old man and I both had the Italian, and it was pretty good. We had chips and drink on the side, but I would have preferred some salad, potato or macaroni. Unfortunately, I have been fooled into this before, the first time is right, and then everything goes to shit. But I get to leave so few good reviews I thought I would put something...simi positive out for a change of pace. There is a big difference between locations with the quality. My husband and I ate at this location today and I am sorry to say it wasn't that great. I was a cook for many years and managed some places. When I walked in nobody greeted us. We couldn't even figure out where to order. I knew what I wanted because my husband had bought me a sandwich from a different location a couple times before. I ordered a Steak and cheese Lg. He didn't ask me if I wanted a drink and I forgot to order one. My husband ordered an Italian. When it was ready the guy just set it up on a ledge and called our name. I got my sandwich and I was excited because the one I had from the other location was fantastic. The bread for this one did not look that great. Some of it was lightly toasted and some a little darker. Sad face. The meat on my sandwich was still cold. I ate a couple bites and I took it back up to them and asked if they could heat it up some. He said ok. The guy stuck my food back on the ledge and Hollered at me that it was ready. Then another guy took my food off the ledge and brought it to me. They must have took the meat off my sandwich and heated it somehow. They gave me my same sandwich back because it was missing the couple of bites I had eaten. The meat was a little bit warmer but I am sure it wasn't up to temp. The guy that brought my food out to me asked later if it was better I told him kind of. I sent my husband up to get me a Tea. He bought it and they gave him a cup but they were out of tea. We had to wait about 5 mins for it to brew. We will not be returning to this location. Let me start by saying, I am a huge fan of firehouse subs, normally. I stopped in today for lunch at this location, at about 11 AM, shortly after they had opened. There were less than 15 people in the restaurant, some already eating. There were four people working. I ordered my lunch to go, filled my drink, grabbed my chips, and waited for my food. I noticed there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency on the part of the staff. And sadly it took longer than 15 minutes to get my sandwich. If they're there slow and they can't keep up with the business, I would hate to see how slow they would be when they're actually busy like the one in Newmarket Square. read more

Terrible. Just awful. From start to finish. Not one redeeming factor in any of it. I ordered from Grubhub, my order had 7 total items. I received 2. When I called them, I was told to call back later because they had orders to take. Then I was told that I had to come to the store to get the rest of my items, even though my Grubhub driver was already on the way back to get it. One of the items I was missing was a bowl of soup. I received a cup that was less than half full and just thrown in the bag with my cold soda bottles. The soup itself was ice cold, and tasted like it had been made a week ago. The corned beef sandwich I ordered was so tough and fatty it was inedible. By far, one one the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Perhaps it was because I was especially hungry as we grabbed lunch on our way out of Wichita, but this was of the best Firehouse Subs shops at which I have eaten. Fresh and delicious, the sandwich was exactly as I ordered it. The fountain soda was a good mixture of syrup to soda water, and there were plenty of fresh lines and fresh lemons to add to beverages. The televisions were playing the Olympics silently, which was not too distracting (although I prefer eating without televisions in view, it is what it is, so I cannot complain; at least there was no sound). The dining area was tidy, and the toilets were adequately clean (there is a men's room and a women's room with one toilet each, so it was fortunate that there was not a queue). Although Firehouse Subs is by no means an extravagant dining location, for a quick sandwich, I recommend it highly. read more

The sandwiches here are really good but this is the worst location we have been too. It's always super uncomfortably quiet, no music or TVS on and there have been times where staff are arguing for everyone to hear. This location is also super warm inside. It is definitely not inviting, so if you are getting a sandwich to go it's fine but know if you are going to dine in you may feel like you're sitting in a library trying to eat lunch. read more

The steak and cheese had the best flavor I've ever had on a steak and cheese. The steak was so flavorful; the bread was fresh and light.
