One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)

Also the pastries and baked goods are magical. Decadent cookies, flaky croissants, which is seemingly their specialty with cruffins (muffins made with croissant dough and filled with magic) traditional croissants, and cinnamon sugar morning buns, which are all on the menu daily. The cruffins are perfection. My personal favourite is the lemon blueberry, the perfect balance of buttery, tart and sweet. The morning buns are delightful sugary goodness, brownies are rich and luscious, and they have the best ginger molasses cookies around.. There's honestly options for everyone, simple but delicious for the kids, traditional picks to please anyone and elevated unique fare for the adults - including craft beer to top off a fantastic meal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Perth and locals alike. But go early if you're going for the baked goods, they sell out fast!

Prices tend to be on the expensive side especially when buying a prime cut of steak but the meat is top quality, so give them a try. I'm sure you'll be pleased. Also inside is Vera's Burgers. One of the best hamburgers in Ottawa. My buddy Brian and I go there several times a year and enjoy the great food. I'm upset that they stopped selling Coke in the glass bottles. That was a nice touch. Drive out to Bells Corners and enjoy Vera's and the Butchery. Cheers! Zee Mitchell

Don't come here hungry! Wow!…read moreThis popped up when I plugged in 'butcher' near me. 15 min away. My first visit was a Sat. So busy! And for good reason. I was blown away by all the meat, the prepared goods. Burger counter. Some seating. Freezer choices. Some dried goods, bread. I got away with Chorizo, some lean ground beef and some beautiful olive oil. Is this place cheap? No! But, I pay for quality without batting an eye. Especially foodie stuff. Next round was a Tuesday aft. Ahhh. Better. I could see everything, not so packed. It was just after a long weekend so some things were sold out but I grabbed more lean beef, a chicken parm portion, a beef Jamaican patty and a stuffed potato. All were good! The chicken portion from the fresh cabinet was $11.50! More than my lb of ground beef! But it was a filling piece and fed me x 2. I love this place.

Prior to that they were on Cobden Rd (and this space on Centrepointe Dr was the Centrepointe Deli and Shake Shake Bubble Tea). The store sells raw meats, but also so much more. They sell frozen foods, deli meats, sandwiches, baked goods, snacks, and drinks too. On my first visit, I stopped by for a sandwich. Their menu changes daily, but I believe a few items are always available. I got the ATB Club Sandwich ($12.50). It had real pieces of chicken breast, thick cut bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. The default condiment is mayo, but I asked for mustard instead. It comes on a rectangular crusty bread. The sandwich was delicious, but a bit messy to eat, lol. The chicken pieces fell out of the sandwich and the lettuce is shredded, so the lettuce fell out of the sandwich too. Or maybe I'm just a messy eater, haha. My only complaint is that the sandwich was a bit small. I was definitely still hungry afterwards. So on my next visit, I supplemented my sandwich with a soup. I got the Roast Beef Sandwich ($14) and the Short Ribs and Vegetables Soup ($7). I enjoyed the roast beef sandwich less than the club because the sandwich was so oily. I don't know if they brushed the bread with oil but it was dripping oil. The soup was also on the oily side and the meat had pieces of fat and gristle. I enjoyed my first visit much more, so will likely just stick with the club sandwich. I did bring a colleague on my second visit and she got the Deli Trio Sandwich ($12), which she enjoyed. She also got the same soup as I did. They have Wagyu beef jerky! I've never seen that before. They also had lots of interesting brands and flavours of chips that I haven't seen before. They have cool drinks too, like sparkling botanical water from Collective Arts Brewery. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and ensured everyone was served in a timely manner. Free parking available in the shared parking lot with other businesses. (91)
