I called, the dispatcher, said she'd need to get a quote from her supervisor, then call me back. She called 10 minutes later with a quote for $195, sent me the invoice, and said she'd dispatch a driver. I paid the invoice, and did not hear back for almost 30 minutes. I called her back, she said the driver was on his way to pick up the lockout kit from their yard - across the street from the Pilot. Ten minutes later I get a call from their driver, he asked the year/make/model of my car, and said he'd be there in 10-15 minutes. Another 30 minutes goes by and I receive a call from their dispatch and she tells me her driver said he wouldn't be able to unlock my car because of the key fob being in the car - I told her this was the 2nd time I have done this, and it wasn't an issue last time. She once again said they couldn't do it, and her supervisor would need to be the one to issue me a refund because she couldn't - but was unaware of how long it would take to post back to my account. I called another tow truck company. The driver was there within 5 minutes, used the same lockout kit that was used before - with absolutely no damage to my car - and I was on my way within 20 minutes of my phone call to them. Also, for a third of the price! If you need ANY type of tow service in the Madera area, use Ron's!!! DO NOT USE THIS PRICE GOUGING COMPANY!!!

Great people! 10/10 customer service and great communication! Thank you for being so niceread more

Even if you are in need of roadside assistance, I would look for a more honest place of work. Long story short is that I was taken advantage of as a young woman who doesn't know much about cars. They took my money after supposedly "fixing" my car and sent me back on the road to only break down stranded on the I-5. They wasted my time and stole my money. I just wished if they knew they couldn't do the fix, that they had stopped instead of proceeding forward with this dangerous fix. Full story below. I was desperate on a Sunday looking for a shop that had parts to fix my car when I got stranded on the I-5 heading South. Luckily, I was able to pull off to a nearby gas station. Out of all the roadside assistance places that were open nearby, Nixons was the inly one that picked up. They sent some people out to help me ( Aaron Avila and Chris something). My issue was pretty simple to fix if they had the part because it was in an easy access location at the front of my car (oil cooler return line bursted and needed to be replaced). They said they could fix it, went off to get the part, and came back with "parts". I was skeptical (but I'm not a car expert), but they had hoses that said would work for the replacement and proceeded for the next 3 hours trying to finagle the hose into the right place. I asked them a few times if it was the right part, if it was a quick fix, if I'd be able to continue driving the rest of my 4 hour trip down to LA, or if i needed to still take it to another auto shop after to get it checked, and Aaron (the guy in charge) kept presenting that this fix would be no problem and their hose would be able to handle the pressure and temperature for engine oil. I should've called their bluff. At the end, when they finally were able to get their makeshift hose onto my car without the oil leaking out, they asked for payment and went off their merry way. They started working on my car at 4:20ish and finished around 7 (after sunset). I pulled out of the gas station parking lot and got back onto the interstate only to break down 1.5 down the road. I ended up getting towed and having to abandon my car at another autoshop for it to get fixed. Nixon's is negligent about their work, endangered me by sending me off with a defective car, were dishonest about their work, and (after some research out of anger) ARE NOT A LICENSED BUSINESS OR REGISTERED WITH THE BUREAU OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR. I tried calling them to find a compromise for their crappy job, and they are unresponsive. I know I have grounds to sue and am going to report them to the city for illegal operation. I have photos of those who worked on my car and recording of my conversation with Aaron.
