Gary and Deb insured that paperwork was streamlined and complete; range time was completed in expeditious fashion. Chris' class was extensive!! And I mean EXTENSIVE. He fills about 20+plus hours of information in the 16 hour required class timeframe. Complete with dry runs of the range, law and policy information, even finger trigger placement, position and posture, eye dominance. I've participated in half a dozen of CCL classes. This was the first to cover so much information and even incorporated defensive insurance!!! They also support local businesses as the range we went to was a small mom and pop indoor range. I guess I will start with the latter, the way the world is nowadays is truly something to be recognized, it's not about paranoia but rather having your head on a swivel; being acutely aware to situational awareness - something that was taught as one of the key fundamentals in this class. Pew Pew Guru is far more than just a class, and like the owner and our instructor Kevin stated, "it's not how you take the test, everyone tests differently - it's about how you absorb the material as that is what matters." Upon walking into this class, I was promptly and courteously greeted by him as well as fellow colleagues, we took this course to have one goal in mind; to be safe and to know how to use certain tools when applicable and as a final resort. Kevin taught his class in such a way that anyone from novice to expert could easily digest and regurgitate the information with confidence. Pew Pew Guru doesn't just give you a book and in a sense tell you to 'read it' and send you about your way. No. There is a lot of gray area here, it's not all black and white. Kevin brings his prior experience in the Army as well as being an instructor the past few years to the table. His network is vast and his techniques are proven. Groupon had them for a different company for twice that much. And I was looking to surprise my bf, because in conversation he'd mentioned that's something he wanted to check off his bucket list and do. So, I purchased the deal for $75. Can I say that the staff at the fest was so friendly and nice, took the time to answer any questions we had. Fast Forward to this past Friday (my bf's scheduled pilot lesson) We were late by a few minutes but had called along the way and they were ok with it. Once, we arrived, everyone was just awesome, very nice, and polite and most of all excited. After a few mins, my bf met his instructor and we walked outside to where the planes were. The instructor gave us a quick tour of the plane and information on it, all very interesting. Shortly thereafter, they got ready to take off. Once they landed, the instructor allowed myself and my son to sit in the plane and check out the interior...my bf loved the experience and wants to take more lessons to eventually get his license.
