I saw something disturbing the other night. At 4:30am I was stopped at the light at Riverside and either Vineland or Lankershim, can't remember, I was looking at the homeless encampment under the overpass when a Fire Dept. ambulance or paramedic box truck traveling south entered the underpass area slowed down and started blaring its sirens, no lights, zigzagged from one side to the other, then turned off the siren as soon as it exited. All a mean-spirited attempt to annoy those sleeping in tents. I did not get a truck number, wish I had. Is this sanctioned or tolerated behavior? If yes, it is shameful. If not, since I didn't get a truck number, you might want to put the word out that many in the community would be offended by this behavior.

My boyfriend lives in LA in the Harvard Heights area and every time I'm at his house I turn on the citizen app and I'm shocked at how much crime is happening at any instance there. Whenever I'm at home I open my Citizen app for fun and it's always so safe and quiet here. I feel like our police department is a huge reason for that. Even being in high school I was also really proud to be living in such a great city. Every interaction I've ever had with officers has always been very respectful to me. Despite this, I have repeatedly been stopped and followed by Burbank police officers while driving at night. I often run errands late at night due to my work schedule and personal obligations. Driving after midnight, by itself, does not constitute suspicious or unlawful behavior. During one stop, I was accused of "swaddling" or driving suspiciously despite obeying traffic laws. It appeared that the sole basis for the stop was the time of night I was driving. I am concerned that I am being unfairly targeted and subjected to repeated stops without legitimate cause. Additionally, during a prior interaction, an officer told me to "talk in English," which I found inappropriate and concerning. I expect to be treated fairly, professionally, and without racism. I am requesting that these incidents be reviewed and that any concerns regarding repeated stops be properly addressed. This will be justified when I give court all findings that evidence from a stop was unlawful. BURBANK PD can be DISGUSTINGLY racist. You have every right to stop someone who's speeding or driving recklessly but NOT someone who is obeying traffic laws.

I then called my insurance company, where I learned that they were in the middle of processing the claim. When I called the fire dept's billing office to explain this, an extremely rude representative started yelling at me about how they had already billed the insurance company and started demanding immediate payment. I had to repeat myself multiple times before she finally understood me. Two weeks later, they sent me a final notice bill. Really? You get to spend a year and a half f******* around and then don't even give me 30 days to pay? I understand that emergencies happen, but just be prepared for a headache when the bill arrives.

People were so nice to bring water, ice packs, and an umbrella... I had hit my head on the concrete so it was bleeding... An official at the Complex called 911 as part of their protocol and... Station 24 to the rescue! This awesome team: Matt, Chris, Steve, and Carlo, took excellent care to question me, take my vitals, advise and assist me. They were very professional, so kind, and impressively compassionate and considerate. Thank you ALL so very much! This happened a year ago, but it still sticks with me. I had…read moreto call 911 for help getting up 2X 2, 3:30am. I had a sudden medical episode, 2 big friendly EMT came. I had an appointment to see Doctor specialist that morning. Later at 7:00am I was in extreme pain and needed the ER. 6:30 is shift change. They sent 2 baby firefighters. Not EMTs. A young girl, smallish and a 23 y.o. guy, also not too big, not yet an EMT. I couldnt walk and was in screaming pain. These 2 raw untrained firemen were overwelled. Barely carried me down a few stairs, and put me on a guerny to hospital ER. They were untrained, unprepared and acted like I was bothering them. I don't know what crew they were. Shocking that the Captain sent out 2 small unqualified, unprepared, probationary "Firefighters" on a medical emergency.
