This free museum is filled with old fire trucks dating back to an 1834 hand pumper. A must see for young and old, and each fire truck has a print out, which is free, for one to take home and explains all about the particular vehicle.... I was so impressed. Not knowing what to expect since I had literally found out about this place by just walking by it, Doug did a great job job explaining the museum and trading stories with me from his time as a volunteer firefighter. I unfortunately witnessed someone in dire need of medical care and resuscitation. When called they were first on the scene and worked very hard to help stabilize this person who needed help. It wasn't a pleasant scene, but it was great seeing in person these brave first responders in action. No Rescue me or Ladder 49 here. A real-life spring into action to help secure a scene, oust the fire and help the victim. When I saw SFD FF, I waved, and he gave a thumbs up as the truck headed back to the station. Stay safe out there and do your part to prevent wildfires or any kind of fire for that matter. Don't want to sound the PSA alarms but doing our part can make sure SFD can do their thing top notch. I fell down on Denney in Seattle on 12/2/23. I broke my kneecap. Luckily the Seattle Fire Truck out…read moreof station 25 was heading up Denney on the way to training. We flagged them down and they stopped and put a splint on my leg and called the medics which came and took me to the UW Hospital. I want to Thank them so much for helping me out! I don't know what we would have done without their help. Time was about 1:30-2:00pm.
