Delicious, thoughtful, pure, and incomparable. Fire and Earth Kitchen has changed my family's lives for the better! We absolutely love Renee. You can tell she is thoughtful, kind, and efficient. Her communication and respectful ways make all the difference when someone cooks meals for you in your home. She is very responsive to our messages and always sends a menu for our review and input before the week's visit. I can tell she puts a lot of thought into what she prepares and thinks about our needs when suggesting each menu item. I don't usually enjoy people in my home while I'm working, but Renee is a delight and unobtrusive. Of course, she'll talk with you if you want, but there is no forced anything or awkwardness with her. She has a great vibe and will get right to work. She knows her craft so well that before you know it your home smells wonderful and your kitchen is as clean as it was before she got there (I honestly don't know how she does it). Renee has been cooking six servings of three meals for us flawlessly since we first met her. She even catered a large garden party we had last year where you could tell quantity did not jeopardize the quality of her food. Every bite was packed with delicious whole ingredients and no corner was cut. Renee can meet all of our dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, nightshade, seed oil, and some nut intolerances) and offer meals that are incomparable to what we can find in restaurants or cook for ourselves. I cannot stress how delicious everything is. There has never been a time when we weren't blown away by her creations. The balance of flavor and spice is some of the most unique and delightful I have ever tasted. You can tell she's constantly learning new recipes and perfecting them for herself and her clients. All of the meals are 100% vegan and gluten free, but taste absolutely amazing -- they are packed with flavor, super satisfying and really filling too. He's really accommodating to different requests, and always keeps in mind our kids' tastes and preferences too. Renee is a very sweet, trustworthy and talented chef and her Personal Chef service is fantastic. She cooked for our family for a year. She essentially brings a large mound of vegetables into your home and turns it into delicious vegan meals. In one week, we could eat Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican and American dishes. My kids can be picky eaters, so Renee would put the sauces in side containers so everyone was happy. She even worked with us to create items not on her large menu, including tofu steaks, which was a crowd pleaser in our house. If you are on the fence, I would definitely recommend giving her a try! I circled back to sign up for Personal Chef services again, and signed up with Chef Brandon. He is very skilled at catering around dietary needs. He was able to meet my request for weekly desserts using only date sugar as the sweetener - he baked us pies, brownies, cookies and more. Delicious! A few months into the service, I suddenly realized I needed to move to a histamine-free diet which meant removing most of the foods I usually ate. Brandon was able to quickly pivot and continue offering delicious options, using most or all new ingredients to meet my needs. Without him, I would have been eating a very limited selection of foods and meals. However, I continued having the same variety of options with tons of vegetables and highly nutritious. He puts a lot of thought and care into meal prep. I highly recommend both chefs! read more

I simply cannot say enough about Fire and Earth Kitchen. I contacted Renee last year when I was hosting a backyard summer evening event for my little granddaughter. Not only was I looking for someone to cater vegan food, but I wanted vegan food that would knock the socks off my non vegan friends and show them we vegans don't just live on dandelions and fairy dust! Renee then told me she could come home and work in my kitchen the day of the event and have everything done on time Once I had the number of guests finalized Renee and I worked out a menu of heavy appetizers. I emailed her pics of my kitchen and small appliances and utensils, and anything I was short of she offered to bring. She arrived promptly the day of, and got to work. Her ingredients and vegetables were fresh and organic, and had every single color of the rainbow. Watching her prep and cook was a delight and I tried to sneakily learn some tricks. ;). She was neat, methodical and super fun to talk to. At the end of the day we had gorgeous platters of Sun-dried Tomato and Walnut Stuffed Crimini Mushrooms, Rainbow Veggie Sushi with Purple Rice, Toasted Sesame Seeds and Wasabi Mayo, Spinach and Herb Frittata Triangles with Dill Aioli, Rustic Flatbread Pesto Pizzas with Brazil Nut 'Mozzarella' and Roasted Veggies and Fresh Veggie Spring Rolls with Chili Cashew Dipping Sauce. Dessert was chocolate chip tahini cookies. Not only was it vegan, it was gluten free which made a couple of my friends very happy. She had all this as well as clean up done by the time our guests arrived. To this day my friends still rave about the food. I wanted to avail of her services again this year for a friends get together, but sadly the Airbnb that we're renting for a few months has a teeny tiny kitchen doesn't work for meal prep. Attending a Fire and Earth cooking class is like being live in the studio audience of a very classy cooking show - except it's quite a bit more intimate and you get to smell all the fantastic aromas, ask questions as it goes, and then taste, taste, taste the delicious (it really, really is!) food. It's fun to watch Renee and Nick at work in the kitchen. You'll get great tips on selecting, chopping and using fruits and vegetables, where to shop and what to buy, and a few fantastic recipes (sign up for the email list for more). Oh, my goodness the malai kofta! The recent class offered at Pasado's Safe Haven was a special treat. It included a tour of the sanctuary, and the Resource Center at Pasado's has an amazing kitchen. I bet the classes out on Whidbey Island are fabulous too. Generally, I find healthy vegan and gluten-free eating isn't that hard once you acclimate, lots of fruits and vegetables -- and ta-da ! -- there you are. However, if you want to impress a loved one, woo the office, bring something fabulous to the party, or if you just like to feed yourself and your family right and don't want meals to get boring these are great classes to help you up your game. Thoroughly enjoyed the intro to vegan cooking 4-class series. Renee is super organized, knowledgeable and down to earth. She took us through ~10 dishes; which taught us everything from smart ingredient sourcing to efficient equipment to use, to safe prep techniques, to flavor combining & balancing, as well as substitution do & don'ts. You can tell her fine arts background translates well into cooking colorful, nutrient dense, healthy meals that are really enjoyable to make & eat. Her middle-eastern baked sesame falafels were my favorite. The assisting chef MJ was also quite helpful. Highly recommend!! read more

We scheduled a personal cooking class with Renee. We wanted to know how to cook better with tofu. Renee suggested several recipes, and we picked three. She came to our house and taught us how to cook tofu scramble, marinated tofu, and tofu spring rolls. They all turned out great, and we learned a lot about plant-based eating along the way. Highly recommended for anyone who is vegan or vegetarian or just wants to learn more about healthy cooking. read more
