When the former Dairy Queen offers valet service, it's time to come back around for a visit. The building has a fresh coat of paint and the interior has been remodeled. Still, it seemed impossible to forget this was the old DQ., But then came the bottle of wine and the gourmet appetizers and the memories of deluxe bacon burgers and fries melted away into a delightful Italian dinner. Should've taken notes on the menu. The food was outstanding. If it were a little less loud and a little more comfortable, it would be great place for a romantic dinner. I'm truly surprised that there aren't more positive reviews on this place! I don't think there's much competition to FIore's, in my opinion. Minus the franchised stuff (which I hate pre-packaged frozen crap), you don't have much mom-pop competition. I think Pavarotti's is great but Fiore's has a better red sauce. Carmine's has great service but the food is subpar to Fiore's. Mesa de Notte is pretty good but not for the pricetag on their meal. Loretto's is meh and Abio's is next on our to-eat list... I love their spicy mussel app, it's by far my favorite so far! My mom had the shrimp aglio olio and that was yummy, too (big shrimps that weren't overcooked). My husband had the lasagna and because their red sauce is amazing, it was so delcious! I'm not sure how they'd do on pizza, but I rank them high for their pastas. Aside from food, the service is always attentive! There's a parking attendant and all of the waiters/waitresses always greet you. Overall, why wouldn't you go there?? read more

This used to be a favorite, now the pizza is awful, bruschetta a mystery food and can often be full,of unruly children and their unobservant parents. We have had three delightful meals since the disaster evening. Food was good and no screaming kids. Glad to be back. read more

I tried this place with the promise of a quality pizza. I was disappointed. First, the service was slow and the server forgot to bring me the sprites my daughter and I ordered. We also never received a refill on water and the pizza we ordered came out early enough that my daughter and I finished eating before my wife got her food. As for the pizza, we ordered a sausage pizza. It was doughy and cheesy but the pizza and the sausage had no real taste. It was extremely bland and when I did get any taste it was salty.... very salty ( thus the need for my water). I reminded me of chain restaurant pizza, like Pizza Hut. This reaffirms that Ocala just doesn't have great pizza and don't know any better to realize what they're missing out on. PS my wife never got a refill on her tea, but said her eggplant parmigiana was fine. read more

Have driven past this place for months and it never looks like its open. Today there were cars in the parking lot so we decided to try it. Atmosphere and look is nice. Garlic knots were good as well as the creamy vegetable soup but everything else was disappointing. Salad tastes store bought along with the tortellini. The chicken piccata was questionable. I met Efrain while working on his property, we conversed for a short time, and eventually began speaking about our professions. He told me he was a cook at his family restaurant, which piqued my interest. Turns out his family restaurant is a must taste stop in ocala! The style is Italian, and there are many Italian places in ocala, I've been to many of them. There are none like Fiore's Cafe! As soon as you open the door you are hit with the smell of fresh Italian cuisine. The decor is gorgeous, wonderfully decorated and the place settings are that of a 5 star restaurant! The food is fantastic, my family enjoyed the calamari starter and salads with fresh garlic knots that are second to none! The calamari was fresh, light and crispy with a very healthy portion sufficient for a party of 7 to all enjoy. Two of us ordered the seafood ravioli (made fresh in house, not boxed) one had the baked manicotti which was again fresh made in house and delicious. Another in our party ordered the baked ziti, which had an awesome taste, light but perfectly seasoned tomato sauce that was non the slightly sweet side, with no acidic bite that you would expect. Did I mention everything is made in house?! The two children in the party had kids spaghetti and Penne Alfredo which both got sampled by me and were on another level of wow, especially for kids meals.. just absolutely fantastic! The last meal ordered was the meat ravioli, it disappeared before I realized what was on the plate! Again another out of this world meal! We finished off with a tiramisu for the table, again made from scratch and delicious! We are trying to find another reason to head up to Fiore's but we really don't need any! hopefully we see you there too! Great family owned local business that blows everything else out of the way! I really like this place. It's small and quiet. The service is quick and food is consistent. My favorite on the menu is the stromboli. I love stromboli and this is easily the best in town. They treat the outside like it's a garlic knot! That's a really great touch. I like that they serve yout beverages in glass and not plastic tumblers. Overall, a must try. read more

This evening my husband and I both ordered chicken parm. It came with soup or salad, and pasta on the side. I ordered the caprese salad, and my husband wanted meat sauce rather than marinara sauce on his pasta. When we received our bill we were charged $2.95 for each of those two items. We were not told that they would be extra. We would have still ordered them, but I don't like not seeing the charge until I get the bill. This restaurant is OUTSTANDING. I have eaten there three times this week. First day I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana the sauce is light and very tasty, the chicken was cooked to perfection. Day number two was Stuffed Shells and again not disappointed it was stuffed with cheese. Day number three I got take out pizza with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes I do not think I have ever had a better pizza. The smell was so incredible in my car I wanted to cry. New location is great. Plenty of parking now. The food is the best Italian food that I have had in Ocala. The service is very good. Efren and the other servers treat you like family. It is very obvious that there are a lot of regulars that come to this restaurant. My wife likes the "ample" pour of a glass of wine. The chicken and veal parmigiana is some of the best that I have ever had. They are both thin, crusty, and can be cut with a fork. The pizza and salads are also very good. This is a great small non chain place that we love to go to. (yes it used to be Dairy Queen). The food and service are usually very good. it is not a fast food restaurant everything is pre-pared to order. The homemade sauces are very good and make sure you try the risotto. On Christmas Eve I made a reservation for the latest seating they had. When my son was late getting into town we were late getting there. Although they were getting ready to close, they sat us and fed us a great dinner and saved our Christmas Eve. read more

I took my wife here for her bday and have never been to the place. I read many reviews and noticed the cozy atmosphere and delicious food as per my fellow yelpers. My response...WOW! I'm so happy I chose this place. I mean what can I say that hasn't been said yet....the atmosphere was nice and cozy, beautiful table setup and the smell but intoxicating. Just by the smell you can tell it's authentic Italian food. The place isn't big but isn't small. It was a nice intimate sized place. Tables fairly spread apart, chairs nor tables were not wobbling round. The waiter was awesome. Very experienced with the way he served us and the prompt accurate service. He timed every part of the dinner with precision. We first ordered appetizers along with wine. The wine and appetizers came around the same time and gave us sufficient time to enjoy it, when timing was right he served us our entrees. At first glance the food looked delicious. Fresh pasta, fresh breaded chicken and freshly grated parmasagne cheese. Throughout the visit we did not feel rushed and we took our time enjoying each others presence. I have been to Fiore's quite a few times in the past, specifically for lunch as it is close to my work, and have previously been satisfied. Unfortunately I found out today that they are under new ownership/management and customer service is not a priority. The food was wonderful as always but if you expect pleasant service in a timely manner sadly it can no longer be found here. While here for lunch, our server (apparently the manager herself) was slow to approach, slow to take our order, slow to bring the check, slow to take it. Just slow. No smiles, no apologies, nothing. In fact a table next to us actually got up and left they were so dissatisfied! Sadly, this didn't even phase the manager or staff in the least. Any attempt to bring light to the poor service, as my lunch companion politely attempted to do, is met with attitude and zero apologies. It's always sad to see a good eatery brought down by poor management. If you're looking for a happy downtown lunch or dinner experience, try one of the many other local eateries that care about their customers: Feta, Stella's Modern Pantry, A Taste of Everywhere, to name a few. read more

My first time at this new restaurant. My first impression walking in when I stepped into the dinning room was how small it was. I think my bedroom my be about the size of the dining area. Cozy to say the least. The tables are very close to each other so you kinda get to know your neighbors. They serve wine and the prices were not bad for the wine. The dining room also lacked sufficient A/C and my girlfriend and I were sweating the whole time. We did ask to turn the ceiling fan on but they could not do that with out turning the bright fluorescent lighting on so we opted for the hotter dim version of dinner. Now lets get the food. It was absolutely amazing. My neighbors sitting next to me had their special pizza which looked great. We ordered soup first and it's home made. We split the eggplant with linguine and garlic knots. Last night was my first and last experience at this restaurant! A friend and I went after hearing great things, but were very disappointed. Service was awful, save for the hostess who at least tried to acknowledge us! We ordered and an hour later, still had not received garlic rolls! Finally, our inept and unphased waiter, Josh stopped catering to his friends and told us "Someone must gave taken your rolls. Did you still want them?" when we said yes, it took another 20 minutes and asking the hostess for anything to arrive. Then, they actually tried to charge for them! No apology was offered, and Josh didn't seem to care that we were obviously unhappy customers. In the time we were there, which granted was a LONG time due to such poor service, we watched two tables wait over 10 minutes to be greeted before finally walking out. Worst part, I don't think anyone even noticed! Management should hire a more prepared and efficient wait staff, and while I understand rewarding regulars, I shouldn't see a local attorney walk in over 30 minutes after me, be served food well before my table, and leave while I'm still waiting for rolls! Maybe they are the people who "took" ours. You can have a better experience, complete with higher quality food at less expensive prices at LaBellas or Danzano's. I will NEVER return to Fiore's, and I plan to spread the word!! read more

Me and my parents came from out of town and picked this place out of random. Turned out to be a great choice! The food was obviously homemade with fresh ingredients. I shared a house salad and louis favorite pizza. The salad came with a homemade dressing that was the bomb.com. The pizza had a very flavorful dough. Pops got eggplant parmesan and loved it. I wish there was some oil and vinegar to dip my bread in, but I'm sure our waiter would have brought some if I asked. read more

Our waiter was polite and friendly, but that's about where our good experience ended. The pizza was very heavy on the cheese, which totally dominated the flavor, which is surprising for a pizza with basil on it since basil is such a strong flavor. The crust was very bready, which isn't bad, but it isn't my preference. However, the dough under the toppings seemed like it hadn't cooked - it had no solidity or resistance and totally lacked presence. Most of the pizza gave the same eating experience as eating a large ball of mozzarella. They also served us very stale coffee and cream that had gone bad. read more
