I am so happy to see that Ann is still the owner. We made an appointment online, and on the day of our appointment Carol took care of us. I was able to bring 3 of my closest friends with me to my appointment, and there was seating provided for them while they waited to see the gowns. We were directed where to look for gowns my size, and were given so many wonderful options. Overall I tried on 6-7 dresses, and never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. The appointment lasts for 90 minutes total. Carol took care of us by listening to comments and observations, and then made suggestions and recommendations to try. I put my full trust in Carol, because thanks to her recommendations I found a dress that made me FEEL like a bride! I was there to try on different silhouettes, and while I did not say yes to the dress (yet), I believe they serve champagne once you purchase a gown. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will ask you for your budget so that they can direct you where to look on the racks and make realistic recommendations. If your budget is $5,000 or less, then this shop has the selection for you! I cannot wait to come back to check out their other options (mother-of-the bride gowns, especially), and take another look through their gorgeous gowns.

So when i came, i did show some inspo photos of maybe dresses that i might like and Vanessa was so knowledgeable. She gave me choices of dresses to wear and then she made me comment on what i liked/disliked about the dress then found me something else to try on until i found the one! And that really helped narrow down what I wanted for myself. I'm so pleased with my experience here.

They have all the elements to create any costume you could imagine as well as fully prepared costumes for rental and for sale. I've used Bittner's to find my wig when I was Princess Lolly. I came when I needed prizes for my Sweet Transvestite Party (a tiara and a wand). I bought rainbow colored fake eyelashes for some party I don't even remember, but I do remember my friend gluing my eye shut during application. In short, you can rely on Bittner's for all of your costume needs however simple or elaborate.

Its awkwardness is obvious, there's something about the idea of going to the same place that you found your Halloween costume to rent a tux thats unsettling. Yet it makes sense - why not, its all just clothing, and arguably isn't formal wear a costume of a different kind? (ooo I'm deep hah!) I've never actually purchased or rented either type of costume here, partly because I'm a firm believer in creating my own Halloween costumes and partly because, well I'm female and don't generally come across an event where I would need to be decked out in a tuxedo. I have, however, spent many an hour here over the years perusing the merchandise. Its a great place just to get some ideas, or even just pick up some accessories. The staff here is friendly and helpful and its location on West End makes it incredibly convenient. I can't really say anything about their prices as I don't really know what the clothing rental market is like, but their quality seems to be right on and I've known anyone to have a bad experience here. Obviously there are certain times of the year when they are more popular, so if you're shopping for something at those times, I'd suggest getting the jump on it early or you might find yourself with some limited options.

As a casual guy in my twenties, I don't currently own a suit, so I figured a wedding was a good excuse to buy one. I went over to their Tuxedo Avenue desk and, when they couldn't find me in the system, told me they couldn't help me since I wasn't registered with them. No help in getting registered initially. No help in asking me what type of suit I was looking for. Just, nope, not in the system we can't help you. They gave me a little booklet of styles and color swatches and sent me on my way. How does one register with them? I don't know, and apparently they're not going to explain it. A little research tells me they do sell suits (opposed to just renting), but I'm not sure what a person has to do to buy from them. Afterwards I went to find my fiancée who was busy looking at dresses. She was surprised that I had finished so quickly, and I mentioned what had happened. The associate who was helping my fiancée took me over to the tuxedo desk and asked the two associates why they wouldn't help me find a suit that I liked. They had a short conversation where they explained their policy about not fitting or helping people that weren't already registered with them. Meanwhile I stood there feeling a bit awkward at the whole situation. I've been in customer service for five years and I know how rough it can be. It's completely changed my view of people who work in service jobs, and I try to go out of my way to be the type of customer that I would like to help at my job. That being said, this was really shoddy customer service all around. I came away feeling frustrated and a little embarrassed as I tried to get somebody to help me. Later that day I went to Joseph A Banks and had a wonderful experience. They fit me right away, gave me my measurements on a card, answered my questions, and showed me several styles which are going to look fantastic on my wedding day. Seriously, avoid these guys if you can.
