I booked here way in advance for our early September trip, we were seated on the open air balcony with Newquay marina as the back drop. It seemed a little chilly to be seated outside at this time of year, but lo and behold they already thought it out with plastic covers at both sides of the balcony and heaters right at every dining tables. Not only did it create a cozy ambiance but made it warm and comfortable as well. We started our dinner with salt and pepper calamari to share with a glass of Rose and I then ordered Brown crab with salad and fries on the side, while my partner ordered grilled pollock. The dishes were undoubtedly fresh and came out in timely fashion. It is beauty about traveling, discovering new places and truly enjoying it. This experience was made even more awesome due to the hospitality and great customer service from the staff. A must try if you happen to be in Newquay!

Very noisy and some loud buzzing sound coming from the kitchen. Music is on loud trying to cover the noise.. Not working lol. They had surf and turf. Surf was ok.. Turf was undercooked and no flavor. I had fish and chips. Big piece of fish and large chunks of chips. Will say I didn't try the peas. Fish was ok, flavorless batter tho. Our young server didn't seem like she wanted to wait on us, but figure that's because we are Americans. She only came to check on us once. Younger man was very friendly.

When we entered and saw the layout and interiors we had to stay. The ground floor is extremely spacious and has a relaxed atmosphere. There are the standard tables and chairs or you can grab one of the sofas and relax. We saw a fair mix of young/single as well family groups so it appears to cater to and popular with all. Both the food and drink menu is extensive and have a number of options but we went for the Tapas. A good selection of Tapas dishes which are reasonably priced (£3.75 for 1 or £9 for 3). There is a kids menu as well. We loved the Pulled Chicken and Chorizo, the Haloumi and Courgette were out of the world. The wife told me that the Squid were nice too. A wide range of cocktails, mock-tails or beer/wine is available to accompany the food. A large glass of Malbec under £6 was a bargain. The cocktails were well made and reasonably priced. The place is spread over two floors and also a terrace so I am sure you will find a place. You don't have to wait to be seated and you can sit where you like. The system is to order at the bar and they bring the food over so take a note of the table number. I am sure you will find what you crave for in the extensive menu. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient and enhances the overall experience. Highly recommend you to check this place out if you are in or around Newquay.

Upon entering there is always a warm and friendly greeting from staff who obviously appreciate you being there. The menu boasts so many options to suit absolutely every person regardless of dietary preference. During our first visit we ordered a lovely latte and milkshake, which was undoubtedly the best we had ever tasted! From a coffee lovers point of view, it outweighed all competition tasting so fresh you'd think they grew the beans in the back garden! The milkshakes are equally as awesome and straight away you can tell its made from only the freshest of ingredients while you wait. I pretty much lived on the strawberry and mango milkshake for my weeks holiday and im definitely feeling withdrawal symptoms now im back home! We also tried several of the food options during our stay, which included some amazing bacon sarnies and what had to be the best plate of nachos we could ever dream of! Unlike many of the other cafe's and restaurants the prices are also extremely modest for what you get. This cafe's absolutely faultless, and I promise anyone visiting it will love bopping to Bob Marley while consuming some of the finest food and drink in the country! We cant wait to return once the uni terms over!! Very best of luck you guys, was amazing meeting you all! Take care :] Joe and Han x (P.s we managed to get back to the Midlands without the M25 in the end!!)

I went for two starters, so 2nd one was: whelks on sourdough bread. Yes. With the right amount of chewiness, watercress on the side...I cannot express how much I loved it. Didn't eat bread as am not a bread person but shell fish....yum. The menu didn't have dairy-free desserts so they made me dairy-free pavlova which was so absolutely perfect - I'm taking off my imaginary hat. Service was good - attentive and making me feel very welcome. If you're ever in Newquay - go for it.

The only thing she could eat here was chips. I had the mixed fish linguini, my partner had some chips and my daughter had the children's tomato linguini. The Fish was very special; freshly cooked prawns and lovely mussels. The linguini in both dishes was cooked to perfection. Service was quick and polite. The chips were amazing which was brilliant for my partner as all holiday she has seen everyone around her eat lovely food while all she could eat was the most basic things. The restaurant still has an old charm to it, it hasn't been polished into a chic modern restaurant, and I love it more for this.

We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner on Friday night and everything was packed. We walked over to their door and were immediately greeted by the owner. We relaxed with drinks and soon enough, brought inside. The food...OMG. I had braised beef and my husband has the 3 fish trio. The food was by far some of the best we have had during our trip, We wanted the dessert but no way could we eat it. They looked so amazing too. It's pretty easy to find and is probably one of the nicer looking restaurants around in Newquay. The staff are really friendly and professional - our waiter offered to take our picture, and was generally a very nice man. We didn't have a starter, but for mains we had a sort of seafood soup, which seemed pretty good value for money, considering the amount of seafood it contained (various types of fish, three large tiger prawns, some smaller prawns, mussels, cockles and two crab claws) - it's messy, but the staff are prepared and put out all the various utensils required, including a finger bowl and antibacterial gel! (That's a first for me...!) Hubby had the steak and scallops - these are some of the freshest, sweetest scallops I've ever had. If you're feeling adventurous, I would try the Cornish mead (I had strawberry flavour) - it's very drinkable, and (in my opinion) pretty strong! But very enjoyable. Butchers' is well worth a visit if you're around Newquay.
