Located a few miles from the AZ state line, the price for regular gas w credit card went from $5.40 CA to $2.30 AZ. Damn!! The Wendy's inside was busy but they ran a well oiled operation. In their main shop, there were many packaged grab & go options; sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc. Numerous coffee creamer options, tea, etc. Central bathrooms were clean & well stocked.

I am always too late to get their soups at 12-3AM unfortunately (I keep thinking about that pot pie soup to this day!). Their snack and candy aisle is always prepared with some tasty treats. Staff always seem buff and pleasant. Never tried their public restrooms so I can't share how they are here for being such a high traffic stop. At 2am- no teslas at the charging stations so it's a big contrast to during the day when the charging stations are usually a line a few cars back.

AAA was a joke, after 1.5 hrs, they sent a small truck with Walmart jumper cables for our huge diesel, but I regress. After spending the night in the Chevron parking lot because our truck (pulling a 33' trailer) would not start. Some kind gentleman and his grown sons stopped and ran a test on the engine and said it may be the sensors failed or a coil or ?...diesel engine troubles. Bottom line was, we weren't getting home until it was fixed. Looking for Automotive repair places in Blythe (yikes), I noted the great reviews (dismissing the one some idiot wrote about an estimate). Called Mead Automotive and spoke with a gentleman who said "yes" his wife would handle our extended diesel drive-train warranty paperwork (which Lorie is excellent at doing) and to have it towed in and he would take a look. AAA towed our trailed and truck (thank you Bobbie) and Hamp began working on it. He drove my husband to an auto supply shop for two new batteries (gave Hamp a good deal too), then returned and continued to troubleshoot. A friend drove to Blythe from Cucamonga and drove us to Ontario Airport to rent a car and drive home to Fallbrook, in San Diego. The truck and trailer stayed with Hamp. They kept our trailer for several days on their locked lot, free of charge and made sure the batteries were charged (awesome!). The next day (Friday), Hamp called and said he was home thinking about it and the answer came to him (diligence). He went in Monday morning and ordered the parts and bam, he was now able to repair it (when all the parts arrived...yay). Turned out the a/c condenser froze up and caused the engine sensors to do the same (a wife's version). The a/c had gone out on our way to Sedona (boo). The truth is that Hamp and Lorie were a true blessing for us. We were in the middle of nowhere and very vulnerable. I doubt we could have found anyone in San Diego that could have done a better job at such a fair price. Lorie billed our insurance and our share was about $800 for everything. He had our truck for 5 days and a lot of labor, not to mention keeping our trailer safe. I wish they were closer, we could always use an honest diesel mechanic out our way. Thanks again! We pull into an AutoZone and after checking a few things when he turn over the engine it catches on fire! The AutoZone people (also great) put out the fire and of course I decide to have the vehicle looked at. Walter not only gave me a extremely reasonable price, the engine ran better than it ever had. Now I am going to bring the van from Arizona again to have him do the air conditioning and brought a truck from San Pedro to rebuild. It is worth bringing a vehicle all the way out to Blythe from Arizona, that is how good DC Auto is.

He quickly changed the tire to our donut and very nice. We called ahead to Joe's and they were so nice checking for our tire size in stock. Luckily the employee was able to plug the tire. He didn't stop there, he dunked it to make sure it wasn't leaking. Helped us put the donut back in truck after he filled it with air, and aired up all four tire. All this for $25.
