I saw Dr Finley for a concern I had about my receding gum line. Deep scaling and root planing were recommended to clean under the gum line. A local anesthetic was used and this procedure took two separate office visits. First I want to say that this was a pretty uncomfortable experience. I don't think the assistant was especially adept at giving shots. Just overall messy and stressful. I went in subsequently for recommended regular cleanings. I assumed that these cleanings would be more thorough than at a general dentists office, but this is not so. I found it a very cursory cleaning, but a deep cleaning of my pocketbook. There was really nothing Dr Finley could do for me after all was said and done. Sure I got a scaling I may have needed but quite honestly unless I keep up with regular scalings I don't see how anything has really changed for me going forward. I can't afford the time or expense of it, so I'm not sure how much the pain of this helped. It's nothing "wrong" that Dr Finley did, so much as there wasn't much of a point to it. read more
