I began freaking out before the procedure, but Dr. Foreman took the time to explain to me various aspects of the treatment and talked me into proceeding. My pain was addressed at various times during the procedure, and my suffering was quite minimal, as the old amalgam was quickly and completely removed, the gaping tooth hole sterilized, and a perfect state of the art ceramic cap was created in house and bonded to the tooth. Now I have a perfect, beautiful tooth with a modern restoration that may last the remaining decades of my life. Hours later, I am experiencing NO pain. Even though the cavity was deep and almost exposing the tooth nerve. Yikes!

The dentist was running behind and asked to reschedule me because the dentist was not available. I never received ANY service -- no exam, no cleaning, nothing. I even signed a form at checkout confirming I owed nothing. Despite that, the office deliberately slipped my "bill" onto my husband's account and charged him for both his real treatment and my nonexistent visit. My husband had no idea they combined our charges until AFTER we left the office and talked about what happened. That is deceitful, dishonest, and unethical. When I confronted them, they admitted they were wrong. But the truth is simple: if I hadn't spoken up, they would've happily kept the money they stole. This is not a mistake -- this is shady business practice. This office has zero integrity and cannot be trusted with your health OR your wallet. If you don't want to be lied to, overcharged, and taken advantage of, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. This place is a disgrace to the dental profession.

When I first arrived, I was politely greeted by the receptionist. It was obvious that she knew what she was doing and was very courteous in getting me situated. Not too long after, I was in the dental chair awaiting my thorough cleaning! The hygienist/aid that I met at first was very to herself and didn't seem to be too happy. Regardless, she did a great job at getting everything situated from her end. There were a lot of X-Rays and some had to be retaken, but she knew what she was doing every step of the way. Just smile a little more next time! When I met Dr. Chauvin, she was a very happy individual, that's for sure. She made me feel like I was more than just a patient. I felt like I was her friend that way she interacted with me. Great personality for a dentist, and by far the best personality I've come across compared to my other dentists. She was very quick and precise with her "operations" and I was done with my mouth cleaning in a matter of minutes. Did I mention again how good of a dentist she was? Regardless, I'll be come back to Dr. Chauvin for my dental needs. I'm glad that I chose Dr. Chauvin out of all of the Lafayette dentists that accept my dental insurance. Highly recommended!

Took her ten minutes and I asked why she wasn't doing what I was told and quoted for and she said she didn't want to mess with the entire tooth and suggested to just fix inky corner. Her concern was to make sure that I didn't experience any pain during the procedure With her expertise she was able to remove all teeth without incisions or stitches She would say you might feel a pinch and some pressure Honestly I didn't feel a blazing thing absolutely nada She was very reassuring, knowledgeable and pleasant Her assistant Morgan was Awesome also, she made me feel at ease and explained everything in detail It was a seemingly painless experience Now I am healing remarkably well Bleeding stopped after 30 minutes No bruising nor swelling whatsoever Have not had the need to take anything for pain The healing process is going smooth and quickly I have included before and after photos showing the condition of my teeth before The teeth that were extracted and finally the finished result As you can see how well the healing is taking place Dr McIver is definitely a keeper! I went here late last year for major dental work on a tooth. While there, they ignored my…read moreinstructions for numbing me properly (even though their website says they specialize in hard-to-numb patients), resulting in me becoming lucid during sedation in intense pain. Because of that, they weren't even able to adjust the bite on the crown I had done because my pain was so intense (I have had two root canals/crowns put on *without* sedation before this, and I had never had that happen- nor have I ever been in as much pain previously). I had to go to a different dentist to fix the bite because I was still in pain for a week after visiting Theriot. While walking out, they didn't even offer me a Tylenol until my driver asked for one. I asked for a refund just for the sedation (due to the fact that 1) sedation was the only reason I went to this dentist, and 2) the direct actions of their staff counteracted/made the sedation useless for preventing this visit from being traumatizing. When I called about this, their HR member was very dismissive and rude towards me. She acted like she had no idea why I was calling/upset each time she spoke with me, as if she'd forgotten what I'd previously reached out to talk about. I would describe it as medical gaslighting, because they repeatedly ignored my testimony about my own experiences to say I was actually "comfortable during the procedure". It felt more like I was talking to an automated voice citing their policies over and over than a person who actually cared about my experience. It didn't feel like they cared about me as a person at all, like they cared that a real person who'd come to them to specifically have a dental experience without trauma had left in pain and upset. I specifically went here because I have trauma and medical anxiety from going to the dentist, but I would not say they use a trauma-informed approach at all. Also, if you're neurodivergent in any way, and you don't "show" symptoms of pain in the "typical" way, I would suggest finding another dentist. Because, like I said, they repeatedly ignored what I was saying my own experience to be to say that they had "decided I was comfortable." Apparently, as I was told, the dentist who did my procedure spoke to the owner and they came to that conclusion on their own without ever bothering to speak to me about it. The HR woman I spoke with did actually admit to me that "communication between their staff members during my visit was lacking" when I asked why they ignored my instructions, so go somewhere else if you value clear communication to prevent your pain. Overall, it seems they're more interested in throwing sections of their policies at you than actually engaging in good customer service.
