The fresh water eel is very good and comes with grapes, bean sprout salad a small portion of sukiaki pork with miso soup. This not a fancy restaurant by any means. So, we were craving Chinese food after a few nights of pasta, panini, more pasta... looked up Chinatown and walked around. It was a Sunday... and there was a street fair... lots of little stalls selling treats... I had fishballs, egg waffles... and we landed here at Jin Yong for dinner. We got a bunch of food: -oysters... I didn't have any... but friends had it.. it was questionable. Not sure why they ordered oysters in a Chinese restaurant lol -braised bamboo shoots - love this!!! -snails (teeny tiny... can't even really enjoy it)... please add stronger green long peppers and more sliced ginger. -sliced beef w/ chives... please sautéed the beef with fried garlic, and season w/ oyster & sweet soy then toss the chives for 5 seconds! Otherwise it will be like this watery mess you served us. -Ong-Choy - this one is ok, maybe add sliced chili and fermented bean curd -the noodle (think this was a Taiwanese dish) needs rehab... it was awful. No flavor whatsoever, sautéed the ground pork! Then toss with sauce! Please -clams... This was a confusing dish.. either make it as dry sautéed in black bean sauce or in broth... no semi-brothy. Not good flavors. -the fried rice... was so sad... the flavors were fighting each other... too oily. No "wok hay" whatsoever. It's a very sad dish. Overall... the food is about 2.5-3 stars, I feel like the chef lacked passion for the food. Or perhaps... that's what Italians want for Chinese cuisine. Just like Americans want their chicken broccoli... who knows. Being generous with 3 stars bc of the bamboo shoots. Ciao.

We had spent the day in Milan and we were dressed casual. The "doorman" REFUSED to let us in. I could CLEARLY tell this was because of what we were wearing. They had about 10 tables outside on the patio. I explained to the doorman that we visit Nobu's all around the world and this is our 20TH Nobu location. He still refused to even let me step inside to take a picture. He waived a waiter over, I explained that this is the 20TH Nobu we are trying to visit, and somehow, magically, they had a table right away!! IMAGINE THAT!! I have NEVER, EVER, EVER, experienced this type of HORRIBLE service at any location around the world. I was appalled at the lack of service this Nobu showed. Extremely embarrassing for the brand. I will NEVER recommend this location to ANYONE.

We did not make a reservation because we weren't sure what time we could get there after a full day in Milan. So we were just planning on getting drinks & appetizers at the bar. Even though the bar was EMPTY, the "doorman" would not let us inside because of how we looked. You MUST be young & beautiful to enter this establishment. Luckily, a waiter overheard us saying we go to all of the Nobus around the world and found us a table outside. At this point, we didn't want to give them any of our money (which would have been a lot) so we just got drinks but no food. Our waiter was great but the doorman needs to be fired!

The restaurant exhibits the Milan elegance and high bar for quality of service which is a pleasant sight to see. (Amuse Buche: A+) - The best part of the meal, featuring a salted meringue with immense yuzu dashi flavors; a classic takoyaki, very crispy and fresh; and yuzu jelly, fresh and refreshing. (Forest Mocktail: B) - The aesthetic is a bit mundane, but I do like the tropical and citron notes coming through. (Ravioli in Broth: C) - This take on pork dumplings uses an unpleasanty thick dough and a very rough version of pork that is not pleasant in texture. I do like the flavors coming through with the cardamom in broth and spiciness from the dumpling though. (Yakisoba: F) - The conception of this dish is promising with a varied number of vegetables providing different textural elements, but the overall dish needs to be much more dry and cooked on a grill to not have a residual gravy. Furthermore, it is far too salty. Food: E Presentation: +1 Price: -1 Atmosphere: +1 Service: E Menu: +2 Overall: 4 stars Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats
