First off, let me say that it is an absolute must to go with a tour company. There's literally over 100 different wineries in the region so you definitely need someone to help bring you to the best ones. I mean... who wants to drive and follow waze when you can chill out in the back, laugh, and blast your music while someone else does the driving? I think it's a bonus that they allow you to play ur iPhone over the bus speakers so that you can jam out to your own stuff. We got Dave as our driver and he was patient, super duper friendly, and never made us feel "rushed". He was on our schedule as opposed to other tours that I been on where you're being herded like cattle. I think he kinda chuckled when my playlist when from some hardcore rap to the spice girls. What can I say? I'm well rounded. I highly recommend having a decent breakfast before setting out on a full day of wine tasting. It definitely helps get you going for the day. We went during peak travel season so it was pretty busy. But the weather was amazing and the views breathtaking. Worth every penny (and they are inexpensive!) We met this lovely couple on the tour who told us to try the winter off-season when it's less crowded so that we can have meet and chat with the winemakers themselves during our tasting. I've never done wine tours in the winter so we'll definitely be back next time and make a nice ski trip out of it as well.

In setting up our trip, he was very easy going, friendly, and prompt in our discussions. Not knowing our way around the area, we informed him that dry reds were our preference, and he took us to several wineries with outstanding reds. To eat he took us to a little hole in the wall sandwich shop that we would have never discovered on our own and it was exceptional. His recommendation was to plan a 5 hour tour, with the option to add on time if necessary at the same rate. He did a great job of being prepared as he made reservations where they were needed, and had an umbrella for us on the rainy day. Charles also did a great job of paying attention to when we were exiting the wineries and pulling right up to the door. He came prepared with water bottles in the van, and a spare box if needed to hold our purchased wine. When we come to the finger lakes again, Charles will definitely be the first driver we contact for another tour. I would highly recommend trusting Charles as your driver.

He came across as very rigid and as a know it all which set off some red flags. In In spite of first impressions I decided to overlook all of this and make a reservation. He sent me a confirmation and asked for the full 4 hour rate payed in full up front. I told him that I would not be comfortable paying in advance in cash and would be willing to pay 1/2 which he agreed. When I had a chance to reflect on spending four hours in a van with someone so rigid I decided to cancel the reservation which is within my right. His response was quote "Please do not contact my company again" What a great way to respond to a customer. My advice to anyone looking to have a nice day touring Fingerlake wine country is not to hire this guy.

I had been planning and stressing all week and Tammy immediately told me to relax and that she would take over. Tammy adjusted wineries times when needed, managed to squeeze an extra, brought us to special photo spots and entertained us all day long while still giving us space to enjoy our time together as a group . There is an area for board games and a nice sitting area as well. The owners Micah and Darcy were extremely friendly and took into consideration our food allergies and dietary restrictions for breakfast which was wonderful (pictured). The home was built in the 1700's and is part of the original settlement of the town. Such a great place to stay and the owners were more than accommodating.
