I'd been recently fussing over my hair and she persuaded me to give Chris a visit. I was delighted to be able to schedule my appointment online. You can select your appointment time from half hour increments when Chris is available. He does have 2 barber chairs but currently he's the only one holding down the fort. He was incredibly welcoming and friendly as was his current customer getting his hair done. It's a wee place but cozy and comfortable. $25 for a haircut, less for kids cuts and beard trims. Chris is very good at what he does and he worked with me to come up with a style I would be happy with, and could grow into if I wanted to change it. (I brought photos of what I was looking for) He also told me that I have great hair and could pretty much do whatever I wanted with it---and no hair stylist has ever told me that. I've heard "your hair won't ever look like that picture". So, I found a new barber and I'm thrilled. Check him out.

His new-ish business partner, Dave, has also added to the experience. He's newer but he's just as kind, helpful, and capable as Nick. The Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry between them is friendly, fun, and with plenty of rapport. They also both give a great haircut, and have managed to keep the cuts under 20 bucks, which makes a difference! They take appointments every day, and have talked about opening up on an occasional saturday, but they are one of the few shops open till later in the evening. I'll keep going back. PS: When you look online for Nick's Barber Shop in Avon, it's the shop that's been there in the 'hood since, 2001, not the brand new tiny one-barber shop that opened a couple doors down.
