You have to check the food for the dates especially the meat, The meat is out of date a lot of the time.

Hesitated- but still, went ahead with the purchase, along with other Dominican finds that were more impressive. Placita De Washington Heights sells specific Dominican goods i.e., Tamarind, Pink flesh Guavas, Dominican avocados, Guanabana, Dominican cheese, plenty of sweets as well as Dominican starches: plantains, yuca and maduros. It's a little shop carrying really nice Dominican goods that I can't purchase up in White Plains. Aside for the rotten berries, I'm glad to mention all of their other goods, fared out perfectly fine and La Placita was great, for all those hard to find, Dominican items. It was the only obvious bad sign. $1? I should've gone with my instinct and knew, it was too good to be true. However, if you need to buy non-Dominican produce, go to your local supermarket and skip the Dominican specialty store.

Great market for daily groceries and produce - much better than the supermarkets in the area in my…read moreopinion. Everything is fresh and at low prices. The lines can be long sometimes as they only have 2 cashiers but they work fast. Staff is friendly and always readily available to help. They are also open 24/7 which is pretty convenient.
