This is a tiny sandwich shop on The Broadway in Haywards Heath. It always has a queue out the door at lunchtimes, and is ideally placed near several office blocks.
It serves a range of sandwiches and baps which are made to order in front of you. Popular options often run thin by 1.30pm so get there early. So pick your bread type, and bap or sandwich, then choose from the array of fillings laid out in front of you. My favourite is the meatballs, but they aren't always there. There is a large range of chicken fillings such as coronation chicken, chicken tikka, chicken and bacon, as well as several vegetarian options.
Portions are pretty generous, and price is reasonable. £2.70 for a sandwich, ranging to about £3.30 for a big bap or roll. Additional charges for extras. Salad is always free.
Service ranges greatly depending on who is serving! But in the main it's very efficient and friendly.
In a street that is aplenty with choice of places to eat, this tiny place has done remarkably well over the years as I've seen many other places come and go. The key being its a great little sandwich shop that gives the buyer choice, and offers reasonable priced and a hearty decent sandwich. read more
