I opened a Hawaiiusa account a long time ago because they were doing a promotion for teachers. I like that they offer things for teachers. This branch particularly has very nice tellers. The line can sometimes get long, but the tellers are fast and they're so friendly. They all seem to enjoy working here. I like the parking lot. I've never had to wait for a space. I don't have to pull a ticket like at the other downtown Hawaiiusa location, and I don't have to walk so far from my car to get to the doors like at the Ward location. I've never had issues with keeping my money here. I use the online site to check balances and transfer to other accounts. It's been a 10/10 experience using this bank and I would prefer to come to this location as opposed to all the other locations any day. They even have popcorn sometimes. I love popcorn.

It all started with my father suggesting that I'd better get started with saving up for retirement early. He came across Ms. Pagay from a google search and he called her to see if she was taking in any new members, which she was at the time. We drove to her office the following week which is conveniently located on South Beretania and Keeaumoku. Like I've mentioned in my tip, there are many visitor parking stalls, nearly half of them are in the shade. We then went up to her office located on the third floor in Suite 304. It's a pretty small, yet spacious, office. The receptionist greeted us as we walked in and kindly asked us to fill out some paperwork while we wait for her to finish off her meeting with another client. The atmosphere is really relaxing and calm. There is a small water fountain that sits across the receptionist's desk that sounds very soothing. Once we were able to meet with Ms. Pagay, she sat us down in her office and asked me a bunch of questions to really get to know what type of lifestyle I have and what kind of goals I have for later in life. At the time I was working full time and going to school part time. She's a very good listener and also thoroughly explained different types of IRA and cash accounts I can put my money in, as well explained the aggression levels of each account. What I appreciate about Ms. Pagay is how she talks about investing for retirement; she makes investing sound exciting and really easy to understand. Since our first meeting, my account has increased about $3000. If you are considering on beginning to save for your retirement, please consider Rhodora Pagay. The staff here has always been very friendly & professional... they're also very efficient, and can handle numerous transactions very quickly. Last but not least, I really appreciate having face-to-face tellers here, as opposed to the remote / upstairs tellers at their 2 downtown locations. Despite the fact that everyone is still wearing masks, it just seems more personable, and it's nice to have that live interaction...perhaps now more than ever! The only 2 downsides to this location are the very limited parking--which is rarely a problem, because everyone gets in & out so quickly--and no shared branching, even for members. That 2nd issue is sometimes a problem for me, as I belong to a couple of different credit unions, most of whom offer shared branch transactions at all of their locations. Great location, hours & customer service... doesn't get much better than that (though it would be 5 stars all the way if they had shared branching)!

While sitting in the waiting area while he was with his client before me, I found a property online and texted it to my realtor asking about it. We toured the property that same evening, and made an offer the next day. All done within 24 hours, and all thanks to Matt, Rowena and Jay. With their guidance, we submitted an offer and even beat out a higher offer. Our offer got accepted in the following week. Some call it crazy, but I say it's all in God's perfect timing. Matt, Rowena and Jay made it happen for us. I mean it when I say we couldn't have done it without them. They went above and beyond to make sure our first home buying process went quickly (really really quickly) and smoothly. Matt sure we had all our sh*t together, and our transaction was perfect! I was super nervous that it wouldn't happen, but he reassured me that we would get through the transaction without a hitch. One of my favorite things is that he is easy to talk to and relatable. He even gave me some financial advice to alleviate my debts which made a big difference in my monthly bills. And that big difference is the huge downsize. The previous location was big and spacious with many tellers available. Sure it feels like the 70s when you go inside, but that gave it charm! The current location is immensely smaller with only 2-3 tellers available, so it does get busy with a line out the door, especially during times like now. I've been here a few times, and similar to the most recent visit, there were still only a few tellers with a line out the door. The service was slow going, but I noticed there a LOT of processing and certain steps going on that seems inefficient. Compared to my experiences at other banks, anyway. Overall, this is a very nice and clean bank, which feels like a small office than a bank. The tellers are friendly and courteous, and all work extra carefully. There's ample parking around and very conveniently located in the shopping center.

Why haven't I been to this branch!?!…read more I just love Manoa and personally it is a slight drive for me but this First Hawaiian Bank branch is definitely worth that effort as by the time I'm done here I'd still be in line with some of the town location. Probably the smallest lobby I've ever seen with podium type of service counters the service here is just supreme with four working station even the guests are just the sweetest not creeping in my personal space, even offering me to go ahead with my simple transaction the vibe here is just so calming. Parking is very small in the back with access direct into the back with both stairs and ramp for disable including automated door button I just love this location as this little mini bank has a great flow.
