The service was amazing…read more This time the movers that were contracted brought a large truck with more than enough rooms (I had to abandon a large amount of belongings last time). They even informed me to not pack or do any lifting (compared to last time when the movers showed up with inadequate equipment and I also had to help lift). They were also very responsive. Previously they never responded and I had to hound them due to inactivity on their end (I got my flight booked less than three days prior to my start date). This time, they responded in a few hour and were actually helpful. The planning was much better this time. They got me my flight a month in advance and all matters such as packing and car shipping were done prior to the flight (unlike last time where there were obviously no effort or care on Altairs part). There was an issue with an accessibility attachment I requested for my rental car that Altair still claims they paid for, but the rental car agency claims was not paid for. No effort was put in to remedy it but it is what it is. Overall, massive improvements. Altair, specifically Laura, was extremely attentive, professional, and courteous.

Uninhabitable temporary living quarters? Yup - I didn't research the place they selected and woke up with a mouse in my bed. Had I checked google reviews, I would've known the place had known sanitary issues as residents previously reported bug and pest infestations. Logistical messes? Yup - at every step of the way. Insanely inflated prices? Yup - it's a ripoff. But if you've already landed on Altair's Yelp page, you've probably also experienced their infamous customer service and unique approach to relocations, so take comfort in knowing you're not the only victim of Altairrible. If you haven't agreed to have them handle your move yet, negotiate a lump sum instead and take care of everything yourself.
