However, I want to take a moment to praise David personally for his tutelage, generosity, genuine interest in helping us, and just overall extremely lovely nature. We went to see him for an usual request. A few other dorks and myself wanted to attend the Barbarian weekend of the Renaissance Festival, but we were short on authenticity when it came to costuming. We found David who provided us exactly what we needed to strike fear into the hearts of other patrons. He went above and beyond for suggestions and supplies and our experience would not have been possible without him. At the festival we were quite the hit and numerous groups stopped us in the streets to take photos. Thanks to David, we were Renfest celebs and fashionistas. While we were at David's shop, he even took the time to educate us on parts of the process, including some of the primitive ways that native americans used to do it. He also told me that if I was interested in practicing or learning for myself he'd be happy to help, then he sent me home with a piece to play with for myself. Their customer service is awful. I sent multiple clear photos of the exact pose I wanted for my duck mount, and somehow they still managed to do something completely different. Not once did they reach out with a question, an update, or even a heads-up that they couldn't achieve the pose. They just delivered a mount that looks nothing like what I asked for. To make it worse, the quality is terrible. I have zero experience in taxidermy, and at this point I honestly feel like I could have figured out how to mount a duck in a tenth of the time it took them--and probably done it better. It even forced me to give them one star just to post this review, and honestly that feels generous. If you care about your waterfowl or want a shop that communicates and respects your instructions, save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. This place is not it.
