For the past 1-2 years I have been uncertain about this pub. The menu has constantly been changing from a classic pub menu to a medieval style menu, along with live music to go along with it, to a tapas menu.
Every time I visit I hesitantly and hopefully return for a classic pub lunch. For one, the cheeseburger was made with brie cheese. The thing that's wrong with this is I expect cheddar or american cheese when going to a pub for a burger, not brie, making it clear they're trying to make if fancier but it's not working and it's not what I want or was expecting from a classic British pub. Another example is the 'Warm Chocolate Brownie', which was exactly how it was advertised. I asked the server if it came with ice cream and she said yes. I was expecting a soft, warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream on top. However, I received a dry, not very warm slice of brownie with a lot of raspberry jam poured on top of it and a scoop of ice cream plopped on top. In short, it was not good. This is just another example of how the Filly Inn is trying to make their menu fancy and more upmarket, however not advertising it well, nor executing it to a good standard either. The menu is not very big and what is on the menu is not very good.
Although the food is not good, they have a large seating area, indoor and outdoor, and dogs are allowed. read more
