Angie was an attentive and welcoming host, and her country breakfast could not be beat for miles around. A little whimsical as far as decorations and interior design, but extremely charming and cozy. My wife and I would absolutely stay here if we were were in the area again. Book here expecting to be taken care of and have a good "home base" for whatever you'd like to do near Palmerton and the surrounding towns.

Angie is one of the kindest, most hospitable bed and breakfast hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She would check in, ask if we needed anything, but without hovering. The Roth House itself is a country house. I think it is advertised as "your Grandma's house in the country" so you shouldn't expect 5 star amenities, but everything is clean, maintained, and well decorated to suit the "grandma's house in the country" aesthetic. I think they said it used to be a boarding house. We would absolutely stay again just for Angie's kind hospitality and delicious breakfast. I don't know if they are still doing this, but if you pay cash, they'll give you a slight discount. I would recommend if you're a sensitive sleeper bringing a noise machine or using your phone for white noise to help block out the street traffic, but even that was pretty minimal. Also, don't worry about the sulfur smell in the water when taking a shower, the water is piped in from an underground well, but it is 100% safe to use. Loved the Roth House!

Absolutely AMAZING!!!! We celebrated our end of summer family vacation at St Lukes B & B for 5 day…read moreand wish weI could have stayed another 2 weeks. The house is incredible!!! The rooms were amazing with so many options for the 10 of us to decide in which room we would sleep. LOVED the Jade room at the top of the house with private balcony overlooking the lake. The main hall was over the top gourgous letting us enjoy an aperitif, set the beautiful table which sat 10 and playing the piano while watching the chefs create and play in what we called the dueling kitchen. We're in the restaurant business and the kitchen was stocked equally as well as my kitchen which serves 200pp. Felt Blessed!! Every night was game night!!! OMG even my parents stayed out to 1am planning pool, poker, blackjack and shuffleboard in the game room. The wrap around deck was our go to lunch spot with the convenience of being attached to the kitchen and the view of 3 lakes. We also enjoyed the outdoor corn hole, ping pong and making s'mores at the fire pit!! Also included was a canoe and peddle boat which we used on the lake and actually caught a few fish each day. Valeri and Ross we're amazing and their attention to detail surpasses many!!! Thank you for a wonderful week!!! Will be booking again!!!! Cheers Shelly

The suite was spotless and beautifully furnished and had a very comfortable king-size bed. We received a gracious and warm welcome from the host when we arrived. First, let me start from the outside going in. The street that the Inn is located is so quaint and charming, we weren't even inside yet, and I knew it was going to be wonderful. Diane and Chris were fantastic hosts, gave us tips on where to eat and things to do. The Inn has a fireplace in the common area along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Our suite was a great size, and I was very impressed with how clean it was. The mattress was very comfortable, and so was the couch in the sitting room. The in room breakfast was perfect! Stocked juices in the mini fridge, fresh yogurt with honey and berries, and ready on our table were granola, fruits, scones, muffins, biscotti and the most delicious cakes. We did not get into our car at all as everything was less than a 10 min walk away. We did the train ride, a show at the opera house, Big Creek tasting room, Myst, Molly Maguires, and shopping. When we come back to Jim Thorpe, and we will be back, Times House will be our place to stay! I'm already trying to arrange a friends trip for next fall!

We didn't have to hunt for parking, as they have designated spots for the bed and breakfast. Chris (one of the innkeepers) greeted us after we parked to offer assistance with luggage and show us to our room. We were staying in Serenity which was located on the third floor. The room was beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. A small table was already set with dishes for breakfast the next morning. Fresh baked goods, courtesy of Diane (the other innkeeper), as well as fresh fruit, homemade granola, and a refrigerator stocked with orange juice, apples juice, bottled water, creamers for coffee and yogurt were all provided for us to enjoy for breakfast at our convenience. Down in the main parlor there was also a side table set up with coffee, tea and hot cocoa. When housekeeping visited our room the next afternoon, everything was tidied up and the items we consumed were replenished. The room had a television with streaming ability. The location of Times House was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We did not have to visit our car again until our departure. My husband and I have already recommended Times House to several friends and plan to visit here again ourselves.

What a stunning inn!!! We came up for a long weekend to celebrate a family member's birthday, and…read moreit could not have been more perfect. The Glassburn Inn, located in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania, is a beautiful historic hotel, and you can truly feel its charm and character the moment you arrive. When we first pulled in, there was no snow, and the entrance looked absolutely picturesque and welcoming. From the start, the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The next morning was pure magic -- we woke up to freshly fallen snow and the most gorgeous winter view from our room. It honestly felt like something out of a postcard. The combination of the historic charm and the snowy landscape made it even more special. Our stay included a continental breakfast, but don't let that description fool you -- this was anything but ordinary. They offered made-to-order omelettes, eggs cooked any style you like, crispy bacon, home fries... it was a full, hot, delicious breakfast and such a treat! The birthday party was held in another building on the property called The Dairy, and it is absolutely beautiful. The Dairy can accommodate up to six guest rooms and features a large living area, a spacious dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, along with an outdoor deck. It's perfect for gatherings and special celebrations -- private, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. With all the snow, my car just wasn't cooperating. Although the grounds were well plowed, I couldn't make it up the hill. Once again, the staff went above and beyond -- they graciously drove us up to The Dairy so we wouldn't miss a thing. That level of service really stood out. If you're in the area and looking for a relaxing getaway at a beautiful historic inn with outstanding staff, the Glassburn Inn in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania is absolutely the place to stay. The pictures truly don't do it justice

Unfortunately, for a special anniversary stay separate from any party, it was not the relaxing getaway we had hoped to have. The property is indeed beautiful. We walked around a bit hoping to enjoy the "trails" on their property map, but they weren't well marked. When we thought we were on a trail, it would abruptly end in lawn. The staff is friendly, but seemed a little disorganized. We called to confirm our reservation earlier that day and they couldn't find it, so we made another one for a more expensive room since our original choice wasn't available. But when we checked in they gave us our original, smaller room under a reservation that was still there. To their credit, they did fix it so we were not charged for two reservations, and we chose the larger room after all. Our room was in the Pack House. It was airy with a high ceiling and comfortable bed, a mini fridge, and a balcony shared with the room next door. The DirectTV and A/C wall unit were a little clunky to operate, but workable. The main issue for us was the noise because there was a party room downstairs. There are quiet hours posted from 11 pm to 7 am - and not long after 7 am (on a Saturday morning!) there was loud music that ruined our morning. My guess is it was early morning wedding prep, and it was technically not breaking quiet hours, but unwelcome for us "outsiders" nonetheless. On the brighter side, breakfast was included in our rate and was very good. In addition to light fare of pastries, fruit, and yogurt in a small buffet, we got to pick an entree from a large menu of options. Our entrees were simple, but good. Check out was easy and I was asked if I wanted a printout or email. I requested email, and over 24 hours later I still haven't received it. This is a pretty good reflection of our experience: promises that were not quite delivered, leaving us mostly disappointed, especially for the cost. If you are not part of a wedding or event, I would not stay here unless you are okay with disruptions.

My partner and I was on a day visit to Jim Thorpe and saw this lodge and since we moved from Arizona aptly thought we might turn into the lodge given the reference to Flagstaff and see if we can check out the lodge for future visits. Upon turning in, we saw a sign that indicates that only guest of the lodge may enter. The sign honestly was not noticeable until the point of turning in. Given that, we immediately made a turn into the lot to back out and leave but as we were headed towards the exit heard a very loud shout with a man running towards our car indicating for us to stop. We did and a man wearing a shirt with flagstaff lodge printed on it shouted at us for coming in and asked us if we thought it was ok to enter if we were not guests. My partner indicated that we might be interested in the future and he retorted with a oh I don't think so and to leave right away. That was our plan from the very first place anyway and can honestly is funny on hindsight for someone to take such an effort to chase us out when that was our plan anyway. We will never find out if this lodge lives up yo its 5 star review as we don't ever plan to book but our experience is that we were treated very rudely and disrespectfully.

So I wanted to check it out and then I read that they have a bar in the house open to the public. The house is very cool looking from the outside. It's lit up pretty nice and there's a parking lot half a block away. When you walk in you notice it is a huge old school house like hundreds of years old. And there's a little bar set up in a corner. After you get your drink, you can find a seat somewhere in the house and enjoy your drink. There's also a little board games, a fireplace , and a piano if you choose to play it. I had a great time at this mansion. I think we had about three drinks so I got a nice little buzz on. Also, the bartender was very nice, I do not remember her name but I told her I would be writing a review and she got really happy with that. She also told me a spooky ghost story from one of the rooms in the house. I won't spoil it but it was a good story. I would definitely return to this house for a drink and possibly to stay for the weekend because it is also a bed and breakfast. Also they do a murder mystery weekend there but I did not experience that.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.
