I have several years of experience doing reformer Pilates and am so grateful for my affordable weekly private lessons by Shasta. She is so patient, understanding, kind and intelligent - I've learned a lot of new movements and the exercises have really helped me with my posture and core strength. The equipment is all top-notch, clean and cared for. Shasta also does group mat Pilates classes and barre classes too which are at a lower price point. Street parking is usually available in front of the studio, and if not, the parking garage is right around the corner!

Then stated she thought it was a conflict. She was very odd and seemed to think that because I go to another studio in town (that frankly is awesome - Southern Oregon Pilates) that I could not as a consumer attend a session with another studio. My instructor of 3 years is on vacation this week so I thought I might be fun to try another studio in town. I travel a lot and attend studios in other cities and states and have never had anyone be so unprofessional and frankly weird. Run and go to Southern Oregon Pilates.

Dr. Cassie has really helped me not only reduce and eliminate my chronic back pain but has taught me how to move and function better in everything I do. I am stronger and wiser about how I sit, stand, lift, drive, work, and even sleep. She was able to not only help me understand my own unhealthy patterns and posture in a very precise but accessible way but is constantly encouraging and positive about my progress, giving me tips and tools that allow me to help myself on my own time. This is the single BEST practice I have done for myself. I have tried a lot of other things to deal with my pain and all of them I would only find relief at the time of the therapy and a little after, but I would have to keep going for the rest of my life, and not actually heal. Sessions with Cassie are so fulfilling and thorough I walk away feeling taller and stronger every time, but knowing that I am making a long term investment in my own health and preventing further injury is absolutely priceless for me. The studio in Jacksonville is really comfortable and intimate, very cute! I've done both private sessions and small classes and both are fun and challenging and personalized. My condition has improved so much that I no longer am in pain but Dr. Cassie is such a wealth of knowledge I haven't wanted to stop going even though I feel so empowered and don't need physical therapy anymore to be OK. Her workouts are the best part of my week. I can't rave enough about JWell. We are blessed to have this unique studio in our small town in southern Oregon!

Some of my favorite classes are Vanessa's 9am-10:30 Saturday morning flow class, Manpreet's 9am-10:30 Kundalini yoga class, and Carlos's 9am Monday morning Flow yoga class as well as Carlos's Wednesday evening 5:30pm Yin classes. The studio owner Natalie is also a great teacher, as well. The studio has a nice bright energy, and the people who come to the classes are friendly and welcoming to new people. In addition to yoga, there are also often sound baths on certain weekends held during full moons and other celestial events. Those are excellent! Definitely recommend checking one out for deep relaxation. Other offerings I've checked out and enjoyed include a Tai Chi class Carlos taught as well as some yoga workshops and teacher training. They also offer retreats to Italy, Portugal, and more. I highly recommend this studio and the people running it and teaching here. Sign up for classes in advance on their website. There are props and mats you can borrow, and there is free street parking.

He is deeply knowledgeable not only about yoga but movement in its many forms including tai chi. I appreciate detailed explanations of poses and muscle groups and how they impact the body. Carlos, and the other instructors at AYC, are very good at this. Perhaps having a yoga center that offers a teacher training program attracts highly skilled and effective instructors.

I recently moved to Ashland, and am looking for a place to develop a standing massage appointment…read more Recently, I have had to work from an office again, which as we know is counterintuitive to our biology. At present, I felt a (for me) special need to receive massage therapy. I communicated prior in consultation my body's needs, and also early during our session that I needed a deeper, more systemic massage, but my communication did not impact the modality. The response I received was, "We'll see." I was not listened to. I wanted to wait a few days to monitor my biofeedback before formulating an opinion, and as some time has passed, I feel no therapeutic benefit was received. There was no felt toxin release or muscular physiological shift. My body just needs a modality that utilizes deeper pressure for systemic benefit. This would be a fine experience simply within the context of a relaxing afternoon, or if the cost was not aligned with local market rate, which is well above national averages. Unfortunately, I am going to have to continue searching for a massage therapy nearby. I only hope that this was simply an isolated experience, and not representative of the school, otherwise I feel a need to seek external influence in finding a massage therapy of value. I will not be returning to Ashland Institute of Massage, as I received no value for what I paid, which is disheartening coming from the region's education center.

Finally was able to get a massage (from RoseAnn) and I am so much better! She made the time to extend my 60 minute massage appointment to a 90 minute one in order to work on my body pain as needed. Expect it will come back, but I have already scheduled more massages with Chrysalis Massage Clinic and RoseAnn!
