Giving this 5 stars because of my therapist Cristina Demarti. She is fantastic and I'm so happy I found her.

I was willing to do whatever it took to get back on my feet after numerous attempts at therapy whether it was through my insurance provider or private practice. I was a bit skeptical at first about hypnotherapy and life coaching because of the heavy price tag attached but here's what happened. We had a counseling session to see what was going on in my life and how we could go about regaining my clarity and confidence. She helped me realize that there was a lot of past trauma that I had to forgive myself coupled with the bitter truth that my self-destructive tendencies may not have been my fault but is ultimately my responsibility to address. I'm not too sure if the hypnotherapy programmed my subconscious that allowed me to take more action in my life than floating around. The month after our sessions I made more progress in regaining my health by choosing healthier foods and cutting out smoking. I also found a new hobby of swing trading and opening myself up to diversifying and growing my wealth from my savings, severance check and Unemployment Benefits. I ended up doing extremely well as I was confident in my buying and selling stocks by reading trends in the market and a little bit of intuition in the tech industry. Even if I was an emotional wreck I didn't let it affect my decision making when it came to trading. After a year later I have made much more progress in my personal development and career. I ended up founding my own marketing business, travel extensively as well as go on to work for other major companies within my career field.

A warning to those who seek treatment here:…read more My roughly two year relationship with this company was abruptly concluded due to a DISTURBING lack of fact-checking. Just a mere two days before my appointment and monthly refill I am notified that they can not confirm any future appointments due to an insurance inconsistency. The EXACT same insurance that they accepted a year prior (BCBS PPO). Frankly, I find it deeply concerning that this practice would: accept me as a patient, confirm we are in network, allow me to receive care and prescribe me medication over two years to then abruptly deny service over email two days before your appointment. This is an EGREGIOUS oversight that harmed no one but me, the patient seeking help. I am now left to scramble to find a new provider to continue my treatment elsewhere after investing time and money with this company. Disappointed is an understatement, I wouldn't recommend. (The doctors were great by the way. The 1 star is to emphasize how greatly this administrative mistake has impacted my life, mental health, and ongoing care.)

If I could give negative stars, I would! Dr. Peggy is horrible & extremely unprofessional!!…read more My husband & I went to her for marital counseling for assistance in communicating better with one another. We didn't have any major issues, just needed better communication skills. It started off ok. We spoke to her individually & then did no more than 3 sessions together via phone due to our varying schedules. During our first 2 sessions we noticed she would get very snappy with us if we didn't completely agree with her but she didn't know us & made tons of assumptions that just didn't fit our situation. We never argued with her, just didn't always agree. At our 3rd session, my husband & I had a disagreement about finances one day so we brought it up during a session. I wanted to move into a larger/more expensive apartment, which my husband agreed to & at the last minute, changed his mind. Instead of assisting us with ways to communicate/resolve it, she tried to turn us against one another (mainly him against me) & told me "well why don't you just get it yourself". I told her because that was not the agreement & had he told me he wasn't comfortable, I wouldn't have wasted time looking for a new place, getting my hopes up, etc (we stayed in a tiny studio at the time). My husband told her he would never expect me to pay for an apartment by myself, he just wants to wait a couple more months/1 yr before we move. She didn't like that we were sticking up for one another. We kept saying we won't do anything to make the other uncomfortable, we just want ti communicate better! She became increasingly irritated & had the nerve to tell me to "SHUT UP", which I found wildly disrespectful because this wasn't the first time. She told me & my husband to be quiet during our 2nd session. I addressed her directly about it & instead of taking responsibility/apologizing, she decides to tell me I have control issues & attempted to throw things from my past in my face! It didn't work! I shared because I'm comfortable & we all have stuff from our childhood/adolescence. I thanked her & told her we would end our session early. She called my husband to bad mouth me after we got off the phone, again trying to turn me against him; which I found extremely inappropriate. My husband is military & too polite to be direct with someone his mother's age. So I sent her this text (see below) to inform her of our disappointment/plans to no longer receive services. I wouldn't use her if you're married & trying to stay that way, especially if you're having serious issues. Go to someone who believes in marriage & unifying a couple, not tearing it apart due to ego.

I had the student insurance and it covered all of my visits for things like strep throat and colds. I got my iud done by the best doctor and was able to receive anesthetic for the procedure, and that was all covered and easy to schedule about two weeks later. I highly recommend getting STI tested here as well, results come quickly and it is so convenient to stop by after class!

Title: Mixed Experience…read more My experiences at the USC Health Center have been a mixed bag, with stark differences between the treatment of physical health issues and mental health concerns. I highly recommend this facility for common, easily treatable physical illnesses like UID, flu, and COVID. The service is fast and efficient. However, my recent interactions with Mental Health Services have left much to be desired. While Dr. Y.P., whom I regularly saw before, was compassionate and wise, my recent experience with a young psychology student named T.A. was less than satisfactory. During my session with T.A., I sought to discuss recent stressors in my life. She started by asking if I had ever thought of killing myself or someone recently. I shared an incident where I was threatened with a gun by a stranger, and I reported it to the police. Luckily he didn't stop me; otherwise, I was planning to kill him to save my life. Unfortunately, T.A. misinterpreted my response, she took it out of context. She said 1 sec and retold this story to licensed psychologists at the center. Then they interrogated me about it for 1.5 hrs. I understand the need for caution in mental health evaluations, but the 1.5-hour interrogation left me feeling like a potential threat rather than a patient seeking help. Plus, it was a waste of time for everyone. It seemed the primary concern was liability rather than genuine care for my well-being. If a student comes to the center and then commits a crime, their psychologist will be held accountable. So their primary concern is to save their career, not being helpful to the students. I assume that since T.A. is a student, she was told to report anything that she might find concerning. So, she was extra cautious. I also believe that if I had talked to someone experienced, someone with common sense, I would have had a totally different experience. I don't know if my racial background was an issue, but I chose not to think that way. I believe she was just inexperienced, and young and she couldn't decide what's important and what's not. I urge others to be cautious when interacting with students or less experienced staff in mental health services at USC. Avoid T.A. or students in general. While my experience with Dr. Y.P. was positive, the same cannot be said for interactions with T.A. It's disheartening to feel like a potential threat rather than a human needing support.
