My existing therapist had recently moved to this company. I didn't know how much changing a company would ultimately result in termination of my treatment and the year of trust built with my therapist. I felt loyal to my therapist and trusted her (this was the 3rd move I made with her). She never had issues with our schedule before she moved to this company. She pushed me several times to meet weekly when I explained that wouldn't be feasible for me at the moment. Our last session was an ultimatum of weekly sessions or termination. I was shocked as this was never an issue until she was employed here. It felt like a sales pitch. I felt betrayed by someone who I trusted and thought truly cared about me. It was very unprofessional. They only want your money and they want it weekly or not at all. read more

My job switched insurance carriers and Fig Tree didn't take the new carrier. They let me keep paying the deductible for 4 more sessions before they expressed they no longer took my new insurance and had to pay in full for the sessions. So now I'm paying not to get therapy. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone I care about. read more

1. My therapist was judgmental and money oriented, lacking empathy and understanding for patients. 2. The therapy center force you to see them once a week even when you make it clear you do not feel like to. They act like they know you better than yourself which is ridiculous. I am not interested in disrespecting my own feelings to pay someone's bills. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

This review is overdue for Spencer Figuerora. He's a compassionate healthcare provider whose integrity and service are beyond compare. I had a difficult time finding the right provider for the past several months but when I found Fig Tree Therapy Center, my search was over. I can't thank you enough for being someone I can count on read more

After publicizing my discontent with a specific provider, the director of the establishment personally reached out to me to hear me out. I was very impressed by the professionalism, empathy, and timeliness of the director's response. He then offered me options to continue my therapy with a different provider, which was very appreciated. I would hope that moving forward Fig Tree implements a means of providing internal feedback about providers so others like me don't have to resort to Yelp. read more

Fig Tree Therapy Center is a great option for anyone looking for support in Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The building has accessible parking for those driving and is a short minute walk from the Metro station as well. Booking with Fig Tree is a private and smooth process. The location has a wide range of licensed and experienced therapists, dedicated to helping their clients. Therapists are well-versed in a variety of areas. read more

They have no sympathy and empathy at all. One provider whose name is Mary O'Connor(https://www.marycatherinelcsw.com/) does not have any sympathy to a Chinese student. She always wants to pass the time and she did not try to help me during the therapy time. Also she did not want to receive any feedback from me. All my feedback she thought was embarassing her but she never thought there is anything wrong she has done. Also, I don't think she is confident because she kinda of does not try to understand a foreigner's situation. I think as a therapist, she should have inclusiveness to the patients with the different nationality, culture, habits. read more

I made a few attempts with the office coordinator to make an appointment and not responsive. I made an appointment, and I did not get a confirmation email; and I inquired billing information and that part was not answered. I sent an email that I didn't get a phone call or email for the appointment, never responded. Look for another mental health center. I found another one, and they responded quickly. read more

Spencer Figeuroa is an amazing, conscious brilliant man. He has sourced together an amazing team around him, filled with care, heart, presence and an amazing wealth of tools. I absolutely trust him and his team, and have seen firsthand the life altering work they do. Thank you for all the amazing care you bring! read more

Giving this 5 stars because of my therapist Cristina Demarti. She is fantastic and I'm so happy I found her.

Nice office.. Parking is impossible. I recommend that you take an Uber because it is extremely difficult to find local parking. On the weekends a lot of the lots are close so be prepared to walk some distance to arrive. read more

THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT! On my last day of being treated for 5 months they told me my copay was 6 times the amount I signed for on my first visit. They said that my insurance agreeee to 10%, that's what they told me on the phone. Then tell me at the last moment, it was wrong and I owe hundreds of dollars. They say they are just as frustrated BUT IM THE ONE WHO HAS TO PAY. THEY'LL GET THERE MONEY NO MATTER WHAT. Crooks!!! Find another company o work with because this billing department is selfish, lazy, and could careless about their patients. They couldn't even contact me about the issues they had. I could have at least stopped the session because I couldn't afford then but no. read more

It was super easy to get connected to someone, which is great. Unfortunately the therapist I worked with wasn't someone who I felt was totally professional. I was in pretty terrible shape when I started going and, when my therapist tried to assign "homework" to me, I had a really hard time doing it during the week. Cause, you know, depression and suicide stuff. Nbd. Anyways, he always made me feel really bad about not being able to do the assignments - kind of like a high school PE teacher who gets pissed at his students for not doing their homework. Like bro, you're a PE teacher. Other than that, he talked about himself a lot, didn't really ask insightful questions, passed judgment on situations/people in my life, made grand, blanket statements re: women and the LGBT community, etc. Unsure what the other therapists are like and I'm about to write a scathing Yelp review at a pizza place, so they get 2 stars. read more

Pretty ridiculous the barrier to entry at this therapy center. I submitted an appointment request weeks ago. Followed up with a call over a week later. Got a voicemail days later; and just got a call letting me know there were no available appointments for their dozens of specialists. Suggest this place update their website with availability instead of making people wait to hear back about help they may really need. Fortunately I'm not in a poor mental state and was doing this for self improvement but can't imagine how discouraging and traumatizing this could be for someone in desperate need. read more

Spencer and the team are great people. Fig Tree offers wonderful support with a diverse group of therapists to match anyone's needs.

This place is a glorified money operation. Dr. Lance stated that he was having "trouble" being accepted as a provider with my health insurance. So I paid him 200$ out of pocket. I stopped seeing him because I returned to work and was too busy to have appointments with him. The practice will only let you go there if you go every week at the same time. I've never seen any doctor that frequently for anything nor is that how you should have to see your psychologist. Maybe in certain phases of life but really it's garbage when your amount of care is predetermined not based on a personal care plan. read more

Good job trying to delete my review. Do you also have fake accounts and employees writing good reviews ? Checks out... I will still give you my review, because this is the whole purpose of yelp. I was going though a really hard time... I decided to give therapy a chance. I thought this place look decent. The guy that answers the phone was very polite. Ashley Ellis the "psychologist" seemed so nice over the phone, but in person was a different story...since the moment I walked in she gave me so much sass and attitude. She was very interested in the forms of payment... During the whole session she looked very uninterested and 0% empathy from her side. At some point I started crying, she didn't even offer a Kleenex and cut me off to rush the session to end. It already takes a lot of courage to accept you need "help"and then you have these people re-traumatizing you and making the world look a darker place. Luckily I found help somewhere else. Now Im fine, but Im definetly not over the bad experience and I am here warning you to avoid this place. Peace read more

I have struggled with depression for a long time now, and I decided to give therapy a try. A friend recommended Fig Tree - my experience there has been nothing short of life-changing. First of all, they took care to match me with a therapist who was a good fit. I liked that there were options. Then my therapist has given me amazing support and helped me alleviate my depression without the use of pharmaceutical drugs. I couldn't recommend this place enough. My therapist has been fantastic and all of the staff I've met are caring, genuine people. read more

Therapist Cynthia Siadat charged me $85.64 for a no show when I was too sick for the session. It was unethical because this amount is what Fig Tree charges my insurance (blue cross). I always pay $20. I called blue cross and they said it's against the insurance policy to do this to patience. This is my first time missing an appointment but again I was sick. It is very upsetting that this is how they treat their patience who are seeking help. I will no longer be their patient. read more

I have been seeing Sarah P. at Fig Tree for over a year now & it has been an amazing experience! I've never had any issues with scheduling or billing. Sarah is super knowledgeable and I really appreciate everything she has helped me during our time together. If you ever have an unpleasant experience with counseling/therapy, don't give up! It takes the right person to gel with your needs and expectations, just like any relationship. I've had some negative experiences with other therapists in the past and am glad I didn't let it ruin my perspective of finding the right person/place. I highly recommend this facility and would recommend them to anyone I know seeking this type of help! read more

I will change my rating because my therapist is so awesome. I have never had an issue with him. Nor have I had any issues with billing. I hope the practice fixed the issues they had when I first came to them. read more

I tried to schedule an appointment to start couples therapy with my boyfriend and I. Someone called me back but they only work by appointment only in the sense that, each therapist has specific time slots available and that is your assigned time slot every week. I am a nurse who works nights, so my schedule always different week to week. My boyfriend works nights as well and his weekends fall from Sunday-Tuesday. They were unable to work with our schedules saying this is how it works and the appointment can not be changed week to week. This is unfortunate for people like us who don't work "normal" 9-5 Monday-Friday schedules. If this organization really wanted to work with people and help people, they would be more flexible with their appointment policy and allowing freedom of appointment scheduling week by week. Oh well.... onto the next... read more

Completely unprofessional. I started off on a good note with them and had a great therapist, however when it came down to a simple request of receiving receipts for my visits to submit to insurance they were impossible to get. After leaving several voice messages and emails, the staff has still yet to respond. And this is just for a damn receipt! If you're looking for a flaky, unprofessional Therapy group then this is the place for you. Otherwise I suggest you look for a more reliable source. read more

I met Diana and had a horrible experience. No disrespect to her personally, but professionally, she's just not good at what she does. Just with the phone calls we had leading up to my first appointment, my instinct told me to find someone else, as she cannot put together a coherent sentence. Every sentence of hers trails off with "so..." and every question ends with "or..?". It's actually frustrating to listen to her mumble. I met with her to discuss a serious topic, and she made me feel like I was wasting time with someone who was so slow. I had to teach her about the topic, because she kept getting confused. She couldn't even make small talk without getting painfully awkward. I gave her 20 minutes, and couldn't do any longer. On top of that, I paid $105 for it out of pocket. I never knew there was such thing as a bad therapist. read more

I was recommended by a friend to come here. I was very hesitant and procrastinated for a while. Until I finally made may first appointment in July and haven't regretted any session ever since. Laura Omar is simply amazing! Every session has been a weight off my shoulders. Laura gives such a welcoming and non judgmental aura that makes you feel like you have known her for a while. She's helping me deal with painful events from my past that I struggled with for many years. I will continue going with her and strongly recommend you research all the therapist Fig Tree has to offer. Therapy is not for everyone but maybe it will help you. read more

There is so much I appreciate about this practice! Anyone who has gone looking for a professional to support them, or their child, knows how difficult it is to find a quality practitioner and person. In my experience, it takes a tremendous amount of research and countless phone calls - and the vast majority of the time, I have found the person to be poorly suited for conversation let alone guiding my family towards something more. I am also often shocked at the poor execution of websites (or any available information) when looking for a practice. The information provided generally reveals all the wrong kind of messaging and does not instill confidence. Which leads me to Fig Tree... From the first moment on their website, I knew this place was special. Not only did I get to see the faces of the entire practice (all of whom appear to be happy, healthy individuals), but I was able to see each of their backgrounds, education and specialties. How nice! What I found very generous, was the addition of a number of really thoughtful resources. It was clear to me right away that this practice is driven by a passion for service, empowerment and education. In my mind, that is what therapy should be. The backgrounds and specialties seem to be well rounded and perhaps intentional so that there is someone for everyone. I spoke with Spencer Figueroa and was immediately impressed by the way he listens. He is very clear and confident when he talks, but I am always appreciative of what a great listener he is. I get the impression that the most important person is always the one that is in front him. And he has the skill set and guidance to back up his kind presence. That is something special. I feel confident recommending this practice to anyone. read more

This is a remarkable practice. In my case, I worked directly with the owner of the practice (Mr. Figueroa) but also had occasion to meet a couple of the other practitioners and patients. One word to describe this practice: flaky. I called for an appointment and it took several days for someone to return the call. Then, they called in the evening, left a different number and when I returned it it was a Google voice mailbox. Definitely an unprofessional practice, to say the least. Can't imagine what their therapists are like given the unprofessional process of trying to book a session. read more

I cannot describe how amazing this place is. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful therapist (Katie) who truly cares about me. I have been trying for years to find a great therapist who I really feel comfortable with and Katie has just been a blessing to find. I can call or text her at any time and she is really great at responding back. It's usually really hard to find an office that has appointments in the evenings or on weekends but fortunately, Fig Tree does. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the horrible parking around the office. Sometimes it takes up to 15 minutes to find somewhere to park. read more
