What a lovely spot. Staff are incredibly friendly. Food is super tasty with big portions and nice variety. Wine is also lovely and cheap.

The restaurant is located in a residential area in Zone 2. Made a reservation and my seat was ready upon arrival. The restaurant seems to be a mix of communal tables along with a kitchen counter. The view from the kitchen counter was stunning. The daily menu is written on the blackboard and appears to change dialy. Started off with the leeks small plate and it was excellent. The leeks were soft, flavorful and topped with some crispy and crunchy accoutrements. Moved on to the guinea fowl for the main and it was absolutely world class. The meat was soft and tender and the crispy skin was excellent. This was served with a bed of mashed potatoes along with some vegetables. Ended off the meal with the chocolate ganache which featured cherries with a ton of rum. Portion was gigantic and the presentation was excellent! Staff were super nice and cordial throughout the evening service.

You need to book via Twitter, though they often has space for walk-ins. The wine list is fabulous and staff so knowledgable - just ask for a recommendation and you won't be disappointed. The menu changes up to the minute according to what ingredients were fresh that day. As a vegetarian, I was worried there wouldn't be many options but it wasn't a problem. The tomatoes were some of the most flavorful I've ever had. The ambiance is almost like an impromptu dinner party at a friend's house - charmingly imperfect, casual but lovely. I will certainly be back!

I ordered the soda bread to start. O.M.G. It is SOOO good. Crispy and well-studded with raisins and served with an amazing soft dollop of salted butter. Three large pieces are served on a wooden board. This is far tastier soda bread than I got in Ireland! Next, I got the courgette ribbon and broad bean salad, ricotta and figs as a starter. It's a decent portion and the salty ricotta plays off the hearty chunks of fig well. This is a seasonal summer dish so grab it before it goes! Finally, the main: courgette linguine, pesto, wild mushrooms, rocket and parm. The rocket is sprinkled atop the tightly wound linguine. It's quite a tasty dish, with the earthy mushrooms and pesto blending well together. This a mainstay. Well-done Floyd's!

The above is an excerpt from their menu and I can attest that they live up to all of it: Let me start with a description of the restaurant: Season is located on Stroud Green Road just a short walk from Finsbury Park Station...yes, it's not a fancy neighbourhood and indeed, Season kind of stands out in its well-thought-through interior. In fact, I kind of fell in love with what the folks here have accomplished: they have really paid attention to details and thus make the dining experience a true joy for all senses! (I especially liked the overall simplicity of this place, such as using packaging paper as table "cloth" and fixing it to the table with metal clips!) From the stylish, yet very cozy interior, to the food...may I quote from the menu again: "Generally our focus is British, French and Italian but our inspiration very often comes from further afield." And indeed, the inspiration for my dish came from further away, as I enjoyed a Roast Pumpkin Curry with Spinach, Peas and Basmati Rice. The Indian touch to this dish was undeniable and I very much liked the slight tingling in my mouth after every bite...which I then extinguished with a sip from the excellent house red... Oh, before I forget to mention it: in true fine-dining manner, as amuse-bouche I was offered a couple of spicy-cheesy Parmesan Crisps. These were followed by a couple of thick slices of dense, moist and wholesome bread. (I assume the bread was home-made as it looks just like the bread that I make at home and it tasted equally well!) Also, immediately after sitting down, I received a bottle of tap water; this gesture made me extra happy, as I hate having to ask for it! Now, the waiting tandem also deserves a special mention: they were very attentive and one of them (presumably the owner?) went around the dining room to have a little chit-chat with the guests. As this place has opened rather recently, there were quite a few guests, who'd been here for the first time and simply wanted to hear more about their philosophy. Somehow he didn't chat with me that long though, but I guess since I was writing my journal, he simply didn't want to disturb me. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining-experience at Season Kitchen and if I had to sum it all up in one sentence, I'd say: Fine dining yet without the usual dent to your checking account!

A plate of two pieces of fantastic soda bread with soft butter comes gratis, which is a wonderful touch. I ordered the almond gazpacho and the artichoke, pickled walnut and goat's curd. The gazpacho is wonderful if you like almonds as much as me: smooth consistency but also slightly gritty with a mouthful of almond essence in each spoonful. Yum! The artichoke dish is light, with the creamy curd blending well with the greens. Dishes were promptly removed when I finished and the check came quickly when I asked for it. The dishes are expensive at about £7 each but I was very pleased with my experience.

The menu has different tapas-style options priced around £7-9 (recommended 2-3 per person) or big plates at £20+. It was a bit out of our price range for a quick Saturday night bite to eat to be honest so we went for the cheeseboard (decent sized portions of six cheeses) and the salami selection. This was more than enough for two, especially as we were allowed unlimited fresh bread which was much appreciated. We sat there in the sunshine for about two hours with some great wine. The service was excellent and the owner even came over to chat to us about the menu and what sort of thing we'd like to see there in the future. It was so good in fact, we made ourselves late for a friend's party by staying to try the (delicious) cocktails. Then I stumbled backwards into ex-t4 and Popworld presenter Miquita Oliver. A good night all round.

The cheese plate consisted of so little cheese it was 2D, and the meat plate was even less. The cocktails were OK, they had a good Gin Selection. We did order whiskey sours, non of which had egg white. The wine was great, if perhaps again a little slim on the amount, the glass was tiny. The tipping point was when we ordered a plate of bread, as all five of us were still hungry; the waiter arrived with 3 tiny pieces of bread no more then the size of 50 pence coin (which we then divided into five). The waiter was possibly the rudest waiter we had ever encountered, he even referred to the chef as "a crazy person" when we asked about the egg white in the whiskey sours. His exact words were "you can't reason with a crazy person". We also asked the waiter about the portion size, when referring to the meat plate he stated that "the meat was meant to be thin" as if we weren't aware of this. Needless to say the over all experience was bit like being mugged. Don't eat there if A: you are hungry and B: you don't want to pay a bill of more £200 for what seemed like table scraps.
