This credit union has provisions in place that would "seem" to advocate and protect their aged…read moremembers but what I witnessed first hand is untrained representatives who are suspicious and overly controlling. One example is when we were at my mothers doctors office, she called due to her account being locked. her account automatically locked when she used her card in nashville. She called to ask the branch to unlock her card. When I heard my mother say "how much is the transfer?" It prompted me to say "oh no, tell them you don't want to transfer, you can do that fee free, you just want them to unlock your card." My mother said pls talk to my daughter, the rep said " No, I can't I have to speak to you." When I did get on the phone the representative went bonkers, told me " I cannot talk to you, I have to hang up or put the member back on the phone!" I was confused and worried. These agents need to be more like agents and stop acting like unappointed guardian litems! I took my mother from Michigan and relocated her with me in Tennessee. She is aged and cannot see as good as she used to and is not familiar with using smart phones as well as someone a bit younger than her. The management is unresponsive, disrespectful to family members. The staff at the pontiac branch are argumentative and unempathetic. They actually make you feel like they are accusing you of trying to take advantage of or fraud your loved ones. Retraining the staff at this branch and the branch manager would be my suggestion. My last issue was when I went to print my mothers statements off of Michigan Legacy website; she has a case manager visit on July 1. I called June 26th, 27th asked to speak to the branch manager Charlie, with no success. My mother called over a year ago and asked the rep to change her number due to her disconnecting her landline and keeping her cell. Instead of the rep changing her number she "notated my mother called and put the number in a note vs changing it on her profile (Once you access your account with your password you have to do a multi factor authentication code where a code is sent to your phone, not friendly for someone that is aged) so I let her know I wanted to speak with Charlie to make him aware that someone did not do their job and avoid any instances with the reps like the last time. Jennifer was the first rep I spoke to and who confirmed she sees the note in the file when my mother called, they documented the number she called from but because she did not come in to do a change of phone number request form they never changed it. She wanted to call my mother and I told her go ahead but she is having trouble using her smartphone due to the touch sensitivity and for that reason, "I" talk to her through the camera at home. Jennifer (or Jessica) said she would send Charlie a message and have him call me AND she would take care of this issue. Then I spoke to Amanda who stated she was next to Jennifer when I called the day before and she would send Charlie a message as well. Then I spoke to Chantal who said Charlie had just went unavailable after 1pm (2pm in tennessee), then Lindsey called me back to say Charlie was unavailable, she never told me what her position or title was just that he was unavailable and she wanted to help but she needed to call my mother and verify she needs her phone number changed. I was tired at this point, so I asked Lindsey, "wouldnt it be professional to go into the system and look at the note and then complete the task that was asked of you, over a year ago?" she insisted on calling my mother and I told her go ahead she may be able to answer or she may not. These people on each occasion had me under the impression they thought "I" was requesting information for my mothers account or for them to perform some kind of request. I never asked for anything, I was following up on a request my mother had already made. Someone really needs to look into this credit union, the training it is providing for the employees and its practices.

I canceled my debit card and more charges posted after it was canceled. They wouldn't cash my shit cause of it, now I can't pay power bill or car insurance cause of it oh and not mention I can't buy food for our kids cause they won't cash our work checks. As soon as this gets fixed they can fuck off, I'm closing my account and going somewhere else

If I could give this financial institution a zero I would. I went to the ATM last night after work…read moreto deposit $230, the ATM malfunctioned and spit back $15 at me and kept the rest. $215 that I made at work that day. I needed it in my account to pay bills the following day (today). I was unable to contact anyone since it was 8:23pm. I woke up at 845am so I could be the first to call when headquarters opened at 9am. Basically long story short, they are not crediting me my $215 and I have to wait 10 business days to see if I even get MY money! I spoke with a supervisor and then a manager and no one was of any sort of help to me. The only positive note is a very nice woman at the Howell location who was advocating for me to get my money to the customer service workers. I WILL be closing my account once the dispute is settled. I have banked with Lake Trust for over 5 years and this is the most absurd thing.
