Rude ladies that work at FiFi's apparel consignment shop. Left 3 items for consignment. Found another consignment shop with much better clothing in Nokomis. I picked up the 2 Patricia Nash purses. My friend and I went thrifting and stopped at Fifi's new store. The store was very clean and organized. I like certain brands and was able to find a couple good buys. The discount for items over 30 days is 50% and 10% off everything else. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I will be checking in more frequently! read more

Beware of this scam store. They should be ashamed of themselves. But then I guess it falls on me....I guess I should of read All the small print before signing anything. Especially when they sell to Miami and other locations for more of a profit. Sold brand new ... literally brand new... coach-purse, 2 Dooney & Burke purses new ... yes once again new. With multiple outfits.. high end jewelry and received $100 in compensation. Yep... even the clerk said it was terrible. I have gone to Fifis many times and was surprised to see the place have only two stars ... I now know why. I brought in some items for consignment and i had the unfortunate experience of having a woman preview my clothes - two beautiful St. John outfits, a Donna Karan black dress, a new red Kate spade purse, etc - who deemed herself a fashionista (not!) with a running commentary on what she thought of the clothes! The ones she accepted, I decided not to leave there. she was rude and offensive - not necessary!!! read more

Prices are a bit steep on everyday items like lamps and pictures. Furniture is reasonable, but accessories and tables are not. I like going in weekly because they switch the store around a bit every day. A bit cluttery, I feel for as much as the guy " helper" in the store is constantly moving around and always seems to be in my way, the cluttered appearance could be improved. I'm disgusted with this place. It's a fraud they give your items "away" claiming they called you first and that's just not true. I lost a lot of money as I brought them very good quality items for consignment but only got one check for a small amount. After that it was total baloney and many items were brand new that I didn't get back or paid for. read more

My boyfriend and I were strolling down Venice Avenue, just out for a nice day. When we decided to go into Fifi's. As we walked in the Sales Associate (about in her 60's) she proceeded to say "You do know were a high end thrift shop?" I looked at my boyfriend then at the lady again and said uhm yes, we do. Turned off by her rude and condensending comment my boyfriend and I decided to take our business else where. My boyfriend and I are only 21 and 24 years old... I guess she thought we were some kind of hoodlums, yet looking at us were just an average young couple. Suggestion for the owner find nicer Sales Associates who won't judge people by their looks. Will not return to Fifi's.. Well at least until Im at the appropriate considered age. read more

Really well organized, older styles, but that's to be expected considering the population they pull from, FL. When checking out I brought the items I didn't want to the counter, with 3 women standing around to help, no one offers! All stood there empty handed watching me. I realize its consignment/thrift but you kinda want to make for a pleasant easy memorable shopping experience so customers are loyal and return again and again. I was a consigner at Fifi's in Venice until today. I've never had a problem here until today. The sales lady was very rude from the beginning. As a result things didn't go well and didn't end well either. As a professional she actually had the nerve to tell me I had problems and need help, then proceeded to laugh at me when I got upset. What kind of human being does this? They have no people skills and are so unprofessional and rude. Can't believe someone would say such an insulting comment to another person. I was not perfect in this situation as I got very offended and upset. Regardless of my review and terrible experience, you can see by the other reviews that they have a bad rating and reputation for being rude. read more

I've been a customer and consigner at the Venice Fifi's for many years, til today. It was a busy day, but I waited in line for my turn to ask how much money I had on account for what I'd already consigned. I was informed $7.20, and I was set to shop around and spend much more than that, until I heard the miserable rude witch with the British accent (and face frozen in a permanent scowl) apologize to the person in back of me for having to wait on me first! I guess I'm worth nothing to them as a customer or as a person ("Am I a potted plant??") and I asked for my money in cash and told her why. Witch told me to never consign there again -- no problem. Not only will I never provide you with my high end inventory again, I won't spend my money either. This woman has been rude to too many customers for far too long -- if she's an employee she should be sacked, and if she's the owner, I hope she goes broke. There are other Fifi's franchises in the area with way nicer owners! Further, because they do not offer consigners the paperwork to show what's sold and for how much (maybe you have to ask for it now?), consigners have no way of knowing if what they"re being paid is accurate...which, if not unlawful, is still not right. read more

Fifi's has 3 locations, this one on Venice Avenue and two others on Miami Avenue. I was in all three, although I didn't buy anything, though not for lack of trying. The stars are for the helpfulness of the staff. This is the first one I went into. My wallet is getting old and tattered and I'm looking for a replacement. The selection here was the largest and the staff were most helpful. There was one black leather wallet that was almost perfect. If it had had more spots for credit and other sorts of cards it would have gone home w/ me, but unfortunately there were spots for only 4 cards plus my driver's license and that would mean hunting for my Kaiser card or my AAA card when I needed them. One of the ladies who worked there showed us the way to get out the back door of the store and across the parking lot to the shops on Miami and we walked over. The next shop we went into was the one in the middle of the block. I asked where the wallets were and was shown their assortment in the back room. Another one was almost perfect but had the same deficiency and I didn't like its beige as well as the black one. I walked down the block to the last store. The woman behind the counter showed me a couple of Coach wallets, but neither one appealed to me. The configurations were good, but one was white leather and the other was fabric w/leather accents. STAY AWAY!!! The owner of this store is unbelievably rude and obnoxious!!! I had been taking items here for consignment and had made several purchases also. Then, they changed their policy and will only take clothes if you bring them in on hangers! When I took some household items in last week, I inquired about this new policy and when it was confirmed to me, I POLITELY stated that I just wanted to let them know, that I would no longer bring in clothes if I had to hang them first. I was speaking to a saleswoman at the time who works there. The owner, a very large, loud-mouthed, boorish man, interrupted our conversation and said, "Fine! Don't bring anything in! In fact, you can take back your table!" - pointing to a table I had brought in that day that they were going to keep for consignment. My husband was with me and we were both utterly shocked! This was the OWNER and he was yelling at me that he didn't care if I ever came into his store again??!!! Of course, the conversation only degraded from there. He has absolutely no customer service skills, not to mention, just plain basic "people skills". I simply didn't feel I should have to bring clothes in on hangers. I had stated this very politely - basically letting them know that I didn't agree with their new policy. A reasonable person would have responded with something such as, "I'm sorry to hear that. Let me explain to you why we have this new policy, yada, yada, yada. I hope you will reconsider, yada, yada, yada" Nope, not this jerk!! With businesses closing left and right in this weak economy, and with an owner who treats his customers in this completely unacceptable manner, Fifi's deserves to be the next business to fold. read more

Went to Fifi's today like we always do when we are in Venice. We wont go back after our horrific experience today. My daughter who is 13 wanted to try on a formal dress for an upcoming event. She went into one of the fitting rooms and I was standing to the side looking through a rack. All of a sudden one of the sales girls comes to her dressing room and flings the curtain open asking how she was doing! She wasnt even done dressing and there she was with her under clothes showing. I came over and kind of tried to be polite (not sure why I feel the need to be polite even to people so rude) and kind of covered her back over with the curtain and started helping her with the straps. The sales lady was still talking and then turns to me and asks if I am with her. Ummmmmm what if I wasnt? How horrible for my daughter to have to feel her privacy was invaded like that.....and it was. I will never ever go back there. Over priced for second hand Khols clothes anyway. read more

The sales staff at Fifi's seems to think they are doing you a favor to let you look in their store. Rather than greeting people with a friendly attitude they usually say "we are a high end consignment store" or "all of our clothing is carefully selected" which puts people off. The staff stand around carefully watching people shop and rarely offering any help. They need to remember that it's the customers that keep them in business and skip the haughty attitude - they still just selling used clothes! read more

Okay, I get the comments from the last (but pretty old) posts. Here is the skinny on my experience with these stores. Fifi's are consignment stores franchised throughout the south. The male owner? of these 3 stores is abrasive...talking loud and not so nice to workers when customers are in the store. This was at the furniture store. That made me feel uncomfortable. But I haven't experienced that in the Miami store....maybe I've just had the good fortune of him not being in there. The owner? woman is nice enough though. The clothing stores....there are two, one on Venice Ave. very nice, well organized store with helpful staff. My fav was the one on Miami Ave but that has moved to 652 Tamiami Trail by the Goodwill. Location is not as sweet/chic as the other but parking is easier. Seems like the same staff from the Miami store. The gals there are great at helping you find things that truly compliment your body type, coloring and style. They are always willing to help you find that just right item or leave you to find your own. Ask their opinion when you try something on...there are a couple that give honest feedback. One helped me to see how an item I liked was not the best choice for my body type. I have not tried consigning anything yet so I can't comment on that. Prices are a little higher than the Goodwill or other thrift stores but then the quality of the clothing is way above. You can find lots of high end/designer type clothing for a fraction of the original price and they do have a markdown section that makes for an even better bargain. read more
