Salsa is excellent with a taste of cilantro. Food is regular Tex Mex. Very acceptable but nothing special.

Choose between Appetizers, Tacos and Entrees and the kitchen will serve up dishes that are brought to you at intervals. Standout items we tried are, ranked from best-to-least, were: 1) Steak & Eggs 2) Papas Chorizo Skillet 3) Chicken & Waffle 4) Breakfast Taco 5) Al Pastor Taco 6) Biscuit & Gravy The biscuit I loved, she didn't. It's very thick and dense, so will depend on your preference. Some of the tastiest overall Mexican-style breakfast's we've har! DRINKS: The all-you-can-drink option adds $$ (I think $20-25/person), so it isn't cheap... but is worthwhile if your group loves Mimosa's, Vodka's, Bloody Mary's and fresh Fruit Juices. To their credit, Federales' service staff POURS THE DRINKS CONSTANTLY lol. They brought out bottle after bottle, esp for the Mimosa's. We enjoyed it and felt this was part of the experience there - chill out, sink into the vibe, enjoy live music and loosen up while sitting in a modern open-air concept with everyone around smiling and feeling good ... In conclusion, this rivals Adele's for my favorite Nashville brunch spot. The two have very different vibes, and I highly recommend checking out Federales!

Most importantly, they have free validated parking behind the restaurant which is a rarity in 12 South! We highly recommend the swordfish sashimi and the guac (add crickets for a fun crunch!). Everything we tried though was something we agreed we'd both get again. They also have taco boards that a table beside us got that looked awesome! The strawberry colada mocktail was our favorite mocktail we tried. Sadly we went during a sober week so didn't try their margs.... But they have a "famous" frozen pomegranate marg that I want to try next time!

It was a quick walk through an apartment hallway and leads you out right to the front door. Once walking in the door everyone was so nice and inviting. This was a late lunch hour so it wasn't busy and basically got sat immediately. But I would think lunch hour and weekends can get pretty busy. I knew what I was craving so we ordered pretty much as soon as we sat down. Omg the food was soo good and the perfect size for what I wanted. The taquitos were soooo good! The perfect flavors and texture. I would definitely get these again! The birria tacos were just as equally good! Next time you're in the area make sure you check them out!

Everything was a hit - all of the plates went back empty except for the broccolini, and that was our fault for ordering a vegetable on accident, lol. Service was friendly and quick and helped us order. Restaurant is small inside and you may be seated with other guests, especially if you are a party of 2. Also Beware - parking is only validated for 90 minutes, and gets quite expensive after that!

From the warm greeting by everyone to the genuine hospitality you fell all around, as soon as you enter ypu can tell it will be a special experience. The tequila and mezcal selection isn't walls and walls, but it definitely a nice small well curated list. Plus the bartender could speak to every single bottle, amended well. They even have a small batch ensemble from 5 sentidos that they went to Oaxaca and had a hand in blending. Amazing stuff. All that to say that the bar and the service are not even the stars of the show here, it's definitely the food. Get out of here with the idea that Mexican menus need to be 12 pages and cheap, focus on specific dishes results in everything being better amd good food costs money and time. Excellent sourcing, good techniques and thoughtfully menu cultivation. Means every meal I've had here has been nothing short of amazing!

I've been looking for good Mexican/Latin grilled chicken since I left southern California, and…read moreLittle Rey nails it. Tacos are excellent (and thank you for the choice of corn tortillas), meats are flavorful, the drink choices hit the spot, and the service and laid-back ambiance are spot-on. (A big shout out to the more obscure classic rock and blues that they play.) The salsa bar provides a nice variety of flavors to add to the meal. The only problem? They don't have a location closer to West Nashville. Alas.

Little Rey - Nashville, Tennessee…read more Overall Rating: 4.6 Little Rey in Nashville delivers a casual, approachable take on the taqueria experience, with some impressive flavors, a few noticeable misses, and a welcoming atmosphere. During my visit, I ordered the #1 Chicken al Carbón and #3 Steak al Carbón, both prepared Costra Style, along with Cilantro Lime Rice, a small Chile con Queso with chips, and a small Soft Serve Ice Cream topped with Chocolate Syrup. #1 Chicken al Carbón - 3.2/5 The chicken was well-seasoned and flavorful, but unfortunately, the texture didn't quite deliver. The meat was noticeably dry and slightly tough, taking away from what otherwise could have been an excellent taco. The Costra Style preparation added a nice dimension, but the chicken itself needed a little more attention. #3 Steak al Carbón - 4.6/5 The steak was the stronger of the two tacos, delivering excellent flavor and a satisfying overall experience. However, both tacos would have benefited from a more generous portion of fresh onions and cilantro. Another noticeable omission was the lack of lime wedges. That fresh squeeze of lime is a simple but important finishing touch that helps bring together the flavors of a great taco. Cilantro Lime Rice - 4.9/5 One of the highlights of the meal. The rice was flavorful, with an enjoyable texture and a well-balanced combination of cilantro and lime. A simple side dish executed exceptionally well. Chile con Queso - 4.9/5 Another standout. The queso delivered excellent flavor and a satisfying texture. Rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best parts of the meal. Tortilla Chips - 2/5 Unfortunately, the chips were the biggest disappointment. They tasted stale, lacked any noticeable salt, and were excessively greasy. Considering how good the queso was, the poor quality of the chips was particularly disappointing. Fresh, properly seasoned chips would have made a significant difference. Soft Serve Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup - 5/5 An excellent way to finish the meal. The soft serve was sweet, creamy, and delicious on its own, but the chocolate syrup was the real game changer. Sometimes the simplest desserts are the most satisfying, and this one certainly delivered. Service & Atmosphere Service was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. The interior dining space reminded me quite a bit of Chipotle, with a clean, functional, fast-casual layout. While perfectly comfortable, it didn't offer much in the way of a distinctive taqueria atmosphere. The real ambiance comes from the patio at the front of the restaurant. That outdoor space captures the relaxed, inviting feel of a neighborhood taqueria and gives Little Rey much of its personality. Final Thoughts - 4.7/5 Little Rey has a lot going for it, particularly its bold flavors, excellent sides, friendly staff, and inviting patio. The steak taco, cilantro lime rice, queso, and soft serve were all enjoyable, but the dry chicken, disappointing chips, limited taco garnishes, and missing lime wedges kept the overall experience from reaching its full potential. Would I return? Absolutely. There is enough here to warrant another visit, and with a little more attention to consistency and the small details, Little Rey could deliver an even better dining experience. Overall: 4.8 out of 5 -- Good food, great potential, and a few opportunities for improvement.
