Coming from a land locked state in the US, it's a must! Our Air B n B owner recommended her good friend Scott K and he took us out for the BEST day! We had our own private boat just us and him which is the only way to go. Don't hassle with the crowds on the tour guide boats, go private! He said, "it's your boat, I just drive where you tell me to". However, he knows ALL the best places to go since he was born and raised here. We started at 6:30am headed off dock (both we were early and he was prepared early) and within 5 minutes of departure, we see Orcas! He follows the law and respects the distance required which we appreciate but we got close enough to see their full beauty. He shuts his engine off for both whale and human enjoyment. Spent plenty of time in sever places for Orcas then headed off to Salmon fish for Chinook. (He has us get our fishing license before we met him) There were many other boats in the area also fishing but he had the best equipment so we caught our fish right away! 27lb and a 22lb chinook! We went for Coho after that but didn't catch anything big enough to keep so we headed to see Sea Lions. After that we cruised the shore of Quadra and saw many Bald Eagles. Scott really knows his stuff, is personable, professional and polite. We had great conversations with him and he is super down to earth. Worth every penny for a great day on the ocean in CR and would absolutely use him again!

Zack took an incredible amount of time for our tour and gave us a personalized adventure.  We were also blessed to see whales, porpoise, urchins, starfish,  seals, sea lions. He knew all the places to go and gave such an amazing insight of the different islands and mountains. He also gave us snacks and beverages from locally sourced places. Literally we could not have asked for better and it was even more amazing than we could have imagined.  When we come back we will ONLY book here.

From…read morethe moment we walked on the dock, Captain Zach welcomed us on board, and made is feel comfortable and safe, he even had a scavenger hunt game prepared for our toddler! Once we were on our way, the learning began! Did you know that oysters are one of the most sustainable forms of aquaculture? Or that one little oyster filters a bathtub of water per day, keeping our oceans clean, pristine, fresh and beautiful? We learned so many incredible facts about his family oyster farm, the innovation they are adding to the industry, oysters as a species and the local aquaculture. The boat has both inside cabin space and outside deck space, making it great to enjoy the sea breeze and spray, but also shade from the hot sun. Captain Zach has an incredibly deep knowledge of the Discovery Islands and Desolation Sound, pointing out mountains, islands, bays and even rock formations, and added a depth of history to everything he shared. His passion to share this area of Vancouver Island is contagious! We saw a pod of dolphins, sea lions, eagles, all sorts of waterfowl. At no moment did we feel rushed, it was a beautiful leisurely day on the water - that also kept at 3 year old happy and engaged all day - and ended with the a delicious feast of oysters. We all had a blast and can't wait to be back.

The tour was an extra 30-45 minutes as we had spotted the whale's blow hole misting water off in the distance towards the tail end. It was nice the guide let us spend time trying to see it up close. Our skipper/tour guide Jack was great! The covered boat is quite comfy. Lots of leg room. I wish they had some sort of speaker system for the guide as the motors are obviously very loud. Love the top deck viewing and the fact that there's plenty of room to move around the boat so you aren't seated in one spot for the entire tour. This is a great tourist activity. Highly recommend!

Our guide Ron was very knowledgeable and friendly with 35 years of charter experience. The 25' Commander boat was clean and comfortable. The owner Kathy was able to accommodate us last minute on our last day at Campbell River. This was our first visit to this great town. We'll definitely come again. Maybe next time we'll try halibut fishing and set traps for crab and prawns!

We saw Pacific White Sided Dolphins in a group of 150+, Sea Lions feeding on salmon, Humpback Whale mother and calf, black bear and incredible tidal whirlpools. Everday is different when you go out. Today's tour took us through Discovery Passage and around Sonora with dockside lunch on Stuart Island at Big Bay. Jos and Rentia are incredibly kind, courteous and experienced. Very safety oriented and well connected with the local guiding and business community. Their Ikaika enclosed boat was very clean, quiet, fast and accesible for all abilities. Highly recommend Eagle Eye. If your fortunate to get Jos, he'll share some great life stories, photography and deep ethic for protecting the Pacific coast, its wildlife, and our planet.

He was able to teach and encourage our mostly novice group of five about how to stay safe on the water, how to find the fish and most importantly how to set the hook, fight the fish and successfully land the fish in the boat. He was so patient with my 87 yo father in law with dementia! Diane has such a bubbly personality and quickly made everyone comfortable. She gave us great tourist tips including Oyster River Potholes for swimming and Willow Point Reef for viewing starfish, anemone and urchin at low tide. Diane kept us well fed and hydrated with her tasty home smoked salmon, salmon salad sandwiches and a cooler full of drinks. During our five hour trip, we were able to quickly catch our limit of chinook and then enjoy fishing for coho and ling cod. Our cooler was full and dinner that night was delicious! We will definitely be returning!!
