Mark's has always been okay for general purposes. Over the years, I have purchased socks, shoes,…read moreshirts, shorts, and other sorts of things. I had never had a horrible experience there, but I have also never had a great experience. 'Tis like getting gas: it is good to know that there is a station when you need one, you are happy when you fill without getting over-gouged, and you are relieved when you are on your way. This morning, an older skinny blonde helper brought my rating down a notch.
I searched their wide selection of durable jackets/coats, from casual to industrial. I found one that seemed alright, but I was hoping to find something that was longer. The helper asked me if I wanted help. I asked her if she knew if there were any longer jackets that I may have missed.
"Well," she said, "I wouldn't know unless you put one on. Right?"
I politely pointed to a couple of jackets that were high up on the wall, and wondered aloud if either of those may be longer than the one that I was holding.
"Well," she said, "I have no idea. How would I know unless you try one on?"
So I politely said, "I was just wondering if you knew offhand whether or not you have longer styles of jackets--perhaps even something at least kind of like a trench coat."
"Well," she said, "We have mostly industrial grade stuff here. Nothing like that. You just have to try jackets on."
I get it; however, there are MANY non "industrial grade" jackets there. I wish that you did not bother asking me if I wanted help. Considering that you did ask, and I kindly accepted your offer, you could have at least just said, "You've done what you could. Settle for the jacket you have in your hand," instead of trying to make me feel stupid.
I will probably go there again someday; however, if I see the helper who knows little about customer service, I am walking out.
By the way, I did not purchase the jacket.
