NEVER EAT AT THE FIELDHOUSE. It's a huge ripoff and they could care less about customer service because they have a captive audience. Even though I've been a loyal customer, the one time I forgot my 5-year old daughter's water, they wouldn't give me a cup for water because I didn't have a $1 to pay for the disposable cup that cost them 1 cent or less. They take in an innumerable amount of money from this community and literally don't give a sh$& about the people in it. Im not from Texas but my son recently had a taekwando competition at Fieldhouse USA in Grapevine Mills. The location was super convenient, only minutes outside DFW airport. The mall had safe and plentiful parking. I wish we had these kind of indoor spaces back home in Maryland because its a vast space with room for all kinds of sporting. The customer service was friendly. I highly recommemd Fieldhouse USA to families. read more

The facility sports 9 full size basketball/volleyball courts, court-side bleachers on each court and table side seating in the baseline in one end. Site does not allow outside food but does offer vending machines and limited snack bar. There are plenty of restrooms. Location is in the Grapevine Mall where JC Penny's used to be. Mall access is available so you can shop before after or during games. Visited this past weekend during my daughter's Big South games in the area. First off, it was packed. They did, however, seem to have a good grasp at keeping lines flowing. They did check the temperature and required masks. Totally fine with that as long as our kids get a chance to get out there and play. Facility was clean, bathrooms remained clean and always stock with paper and soap. All in all, not a bad experience. read more

So my son had two basketball games to play here this weekend and this place is pretty cool. They have about ten different courts tightly packed into this place. There is seating around the courts and counter height seating along the back of the courts. They have a snack stand a the restrooms are pretty clean. The courts are a tad smaller than the normal size but are great to get some good practice in and fun for the kiddos. I like that this place leads directly into the mall as well so we shopped around while we waited on the next game to start. The absolute best part about this was the zero dollar admission fee, #Winning! read more

Left RYA because the Refs let kids foul like crazy and the people on the board choose favorites and don't care about the other kids. But we are experiencing the same thing here. Refs make unfair calls and seem to always favor one team. Kids are constantly putting down other kids. Like saying really mean things. Refs also make calls that are completely wrong like blaming one team for getting a ball out of bounds when everyone in the stands saw it was the other team. I understand that these games are not that serious but to the kids they are. When they constantly get belittled and get unfair rulings, it makes the game not fun anymore. I know lots of kids that love basketball but no longer play because it is no longer about having fun and learning the basics of basketball. It's really sad and Refs and 'bullying' kids should be reprimanded. read more

Fieldhouse USA is the newest indoor Sports facility in Grapevine. It is located in the old JCPenney's store at the Grapevine Mills Mall. I believe it has about 9 courts which can be converted from basketball to volleyball and perhaps more because I know that they also offer Futsal. They did a pretty good job designing the facility. There are also a few vending machines, bleachers and I believe a small concessions area. A con is that the courts are very close to each other and it is a bit inconvenient to walk to the courts farthest from the entry point. They could have perhaps tried to make it a little more roomy or at least with a few more designated walking paths in order to avoid confusion from people walking on courts during game time. All in all it serves its purpose and is a nice place for kids to play organized sports indoors. read more

BEWARE REC TEAMS! Don't waste your time or money. Youth basketball leagues advertised as "competitive rec" include multiple club teams with paid coaches, splashy websites, and college recruiting videos - not sure why this is allowed in a "competitive rec" league. Beware if you are a true rec team. This results in ridiculously mismatched games/blowouts that nobody benefits from. The summer season was so poorly matched from an ability level standpoint that coaches requested refunds to no avail. No benefit here for true rec and developing players. Go elsewhere. read more

Today was my daughter's first basketball game with her new team. I'm a single parent of 2. A 4 year old boy and a 15 year old girl. The manager at the time Travis told me I can't watch my daughter play cause she have my 4 year old son. Only one spectator. Mind you there are other kids there with BOTH their parents. Yet the choice that was given to me was either you go outside and leave my FOUR year old in the gym or leave him in the CAR AND WATCH MY DAUGHTER PLAY. I can't believe what choice I was given and I'm very very hurt by it. My husband died and so its just us and for that man to even give me that option I will not dear step foot in that building! Y'all are a disgrace! read more

Interesting and lucrative business concept. Poor strategic planning with the consumer in mind because of the lack of adequate seating. On any given tournament weekend, 1/3 of parents and players can sit while 2/3 are left standing for hours, hunting down any open bleacher seat to rest legs or sitting on the uncomfortable concrete floors. It would not be so terrible if they allowed lawn chairs to be brought into the facility and/or if the tournament hosting company did charge an arm and a leg for entry. Ted E's, the concession style restaurant has great food choices with prices one can expect from a sit down eating establishment. read more

This is our four season with this event center, and my review is based on a lot of patience with Fieldhouse. This company claims to pride themselves on high standards and good atmosphere for the growing generation to play a sport. Fieldhouse, in fact has a program that allows children to sign up for teams, but unless your child is already affiliated with a coach and team that is "well established" at their facility, the child is placed on a team with all the children who are also unaffiliated. In my specific case, my son ended up on what can only be described as a "leftovers" team of 6 children, barely enough to even play a game, not to mention making practice near impossible. After losing the first game, one of the dissatisfied mothers approached the manager, and had her son moved to another team, leaving our team incapacitated and down to 5 players. The following game was lost, and after that 2 more games forfeited because Fieldhouse did not add to our team, and we did not have enough players. At a recent game, we found 2 boys that wanted to play but were not on the roster and asked if they could be added to the team for this game, otherwise we would have to forfeit for a third time. They allowed us to add the boys to the roster so the game could in fact occur. The following day we received a notice from the manager at Grapevine Fieldhouse with the threat of suspension of our team and disallowing the added players, unless we paid an addition $195 to complete a team fee. Looking at other affiliated established teams, there are at least a half dozen children that sit on the bench during games, some of whom that never get to play, while in our circumstance, when a child is out sick with pneumonia, we are forced to forfeit a game. The true character of this company shows through, the corporate greed as well as the complete unprofessionalism and all around lack of creating a fair playing field and consistent atmosphere is quite apparent. read more

WARNING!!!! THIS IS NOT A REC LEAGUE!!!!! I signed up for a rec league, but this is not a rec league!!!!! The rec league is actually a league with select/club/elite teams who have played together all year (or many years). Our basketball league with kindergartners and first graders were losing every game 55-3, 44-3, etc..... The other teams did not even have kindergartners on them. There are only a few pool leagues players and they get put on the few "pool" teams. They were getting killed every game 55-2, 44-3, etc... DON'T sign up here if you are not a select/club player who has joined as a team. This league is not for individuals who don't already have a team. THIS IS NOT A REC LEAGUE, despite what they say. read more

I'm reviewing this facility from the standpoint of a coach of several competitive basketball teams that played in a recent tournament here. First, the courts are shorter than your normal court. This is common in field house settings, but these seem even shorter than most. Then, there is so little space between courts, that players on the bench literally have their feet on the playing court. I've never seen anything like it. There is 20 feet of walk way on all sides of the facility beside the courts. It isn't understandable why they wouldn't have extended the courts some. As is true with most field houses, there is nothing to block the sound. Teams are constantly stopping play as they hear whistles from other courts. There is no real food court in this facility. They have a DocPopcorn stand on one side selling popcorn, chips, candy and sodas. I bought 2 bags of chips and 2 sodas for $9 at this stand. I've been to many field houses with our teams. This one is BY FAR the worst we've been too. The same company runs the one in Mansfield, and it's 10 times better. I guess the City of Grapevine was desperate to have one, so the wedged it in an old JCPenney. I will definitely think twice before entering our teams in tournaments here. read more
