The seam of the catalytic converter was cracked and I was hoping for a cheap fix, but realistically my truck probably needs a new Y-pipe with both cats. I chose Marty's Muffler based on some good Yelp reviews. I called Marty to get an opinion over the phone and he told me they would be glad to take a look at my issue to see if welding it was an option. I showed up about 30 minutes later. They had me pull my truck in the shop, lifted it up and immediately noticed the coffee can shaped catalytic converter top seam was cracked all the way around. I asked about a replacement converter. They offered to try welding the seam on the converter for 25 bucks! Wait a minute... Most shops won't even look at you for under 50 bucks let alone fix anything! They were able to weld all the way around the converter while it was in place and now it sounds brand new. I gladly offered to pay double for the repair but Marty politely refused my offer and explained that's just how they do business and they never charge for looking at people's vehicles or for estimates. Please go here for all your exhaust and muffler work to help support these guys. It's not often I fell blessed to do business somewhere but I did today. We need this shop around for many more years!

Only negative I have is that his welds aren't that pretty, but who cares? They are outta sight and are solid. Lastly, he runs by first come first serve only for the most part. I needed a new cat converter. They quoted me a price over the phone and it didn't change once I got there - no extra "a woman came in by herself" fees. I appreciate that. They explained what was wrong and exactly what they were doing before starting, even showed me the new & old parts and told me in detail why my old one was having an efficiency issue. He gave me advice about what to do if I continued having issues (what a "bad" mechanic might try to offer versus what a "good" mechanic should do to diagnose the problem, which I also appreciated!) The guy was very kind and thorough. I wish I could remember his name, but the Muffler Shop has surely earned my continued business should my vehicle ever have any more problems.

So they charged her $160 for 4.5 quarts of synthetic oil and a tire rotation when the ad listed both for $59.95. I called afterward and they said there was nothing they could do becuase she didn't present the coupon. As a Dad, I would have done things differently if I worked there. They charged me for removing and replacing an alternator when they never purchased an alternator. Then when I call to talk to Kyle, he says he no longer wants to do business with me and hangs up in my face. I called the corporate office, but they stated this was locally owned and operated. They are not honest people. I asked for an itemized receipt. They sent one over and recently added a note that said, I brought in my own alternator last year. This was a blatant lie. They originally said someone from AutoZone on Camp Robinson brought the part to them. I spoke with the manager at AutoZone, and that was also false. I am a school teacher here locally, and I am enraged that someone would do this. It is completely despicable behavior.
