2022 will probably go down in (recent) history as the year the world officially opened back up. As such, I have been traveling a good bit. Before I go into any details, I will preface this review by making it clear that I love my dogs, unconditionally. They are my children. When I started vetting dog sitters at the beginning of the year, I knew I had to go with someone I could trust to come and go as I needed and take really good care of my boys. After calling and asking around, I eventually met with Fred & company at my house. I knew right away I was in great hands. I have used FidoSit's service more times than I have cared to keep count this year, and I could not be happier. They are easy to use, take great care of your pets, and are trustworthy good people! read more

Fred and his team cared for our birds and crew for nearly 9 years. They were there for us through thick and thin, even sometimes on short notice. When our doorbell camera caught kids up to mischief, Fred went over right away and checked the entire perimeter of our house. When i needed someone to help me medicate a bird, Fred was there. We could always rely on Fidosit and miss them very much now that we have relocated. Great. I used them previously and was very happy with the personal service and care they showed my cats and me. I was a happy customer this time around as well. Fred was very attentive to my needs and requests, but my cat was a snob and wouldn't socialize. Still, he tried and cared well for her. He doesn't take it personally. LOL read more

Fred and Janet were absolutely fantastic with our cats on two separate occasions. Fred came to our home prior to our first sitting arrangement and met our cats and talked with my husband and I in depth about our pets needs. He even suggested some veterinary options for us as we were new to the area. During each visit, Fred (or Janet) would send updates and pictures of our cats. They also leave an "in" and "out" log detailing what they did each visit. Our cats fared much better staying and home with visits from Fred and Janet than they ever did being boarded. We would absolutely continue working with them if we were still living in the area. I highly recommend! read more

Wonderful! Fred was great in taking care of our two dogs and cat while we were out of the country. He emailed us after very visit to let us know our critters and house were doing fine which made us feel so much better while we were away. I'll be recommending him to anyone I know looking for a pet sitter! read more

Disappointed - Not What Was Promised…read more The training at Sit Means Sit started off fun and engaging, and we had high hopes. But once the contract period ended, we were told our dog is "reactive" and would need additional (and expensive) training beyond what we already paid for. This was never mentioned when we signed up. In fact, the owner assured us that whatever his own dog could do, ours would eventually be able to do too--and that they wouldn't stop training until we got there. That promise was not kept. Despite signs early on that our dog had some reactivity, they waited until the original program ended to inform us that we'd need to pay more. We feel misled and disappointed, especially after spending a significant amount upfront. Be sure to read the fine print and ask direct questions about what happens if your dog is considered "reactive." Otherwise, you may end up in the same situation--having to pay another trainer to finish the job.

On the night of July 15, 2026, we brought our beloved 15-year-old dog, Maile, to VCA Oso Creek for…read morehumane euthanasia due to acute respiratory distress caused by lung cancer. The staff insisted on removing her from our arms to place an IV catheter in the back. Before taking her, the staff explicitly and verbally assured us that she would not be given any medications or sedatives while separated from us. Predictably, separating a fragile, terminal dog from her owners in a crisis caused her panic and respiratory symptoms to escalate. Instead of returning her to our care to calm her, the clinic chose operational efficiency.Upon requesting Maile's official medical logs, we discovered a shocking contradiction. While out of our sight, Dr. Allred immediately administered 0.2 ml of IV Acepromazine--a potent tranquilizer--without our knowledge or consent. When she was finally returned to the room, she was completely unresponsive and profoundly sedated. We actually thought she might already be dead. Because the clinic lied to us about the medication, my wife and I were stripped of our final conscious moments and a shared goodbye with our companion of 15 years.They managed the clinical side of her transition, but completely failed the human side of it. If you choose this facility for end-of-life care, be aware that their backend workflow takes priority over honest communication and your final peace of mind.

I begged please just come outside and tell me if she's dying on me. Do I need to take her to OSO. I'm not rich and everyone knows OSO is insanely expensive. The lady in the front went to ask the vet and I could see them talking. The look on her face was just annoyed and I could see her say no. The lady referred me to the urgent care down the street but they didn't open until 11am. I went and waited in the parking lot for them to open. She died right there next to me about an hour later. If she would have looked at her I'm sure could have at least been able to tell me she's dying and saved her the pain of choking on her own fluids for the next hour. I obviously will be taking my other two elsewhere for now on.

I called on Wednesday to schedule a reproductive/insemination exam for my dog and clearly explained what I needed. I was given a Friday 8:00 AM appointment and even received an email confirmation the next day verifying it. I showed up on time, only to be met with zero professionalism. No greeting. No courtesy. Just a cold "What can I help you with?" After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes, I was finally told they "don't do that here but instead I can "be referred to a Vet Clinic in San Antonio". Why not ? Is it because I'm the only Mexican in the Lobby with a Dog that looks like a Drug Dealer would Own? Or because I'm not your Average Joe with a Typical American Household Dog sitting in your lobby waiting for services. So why was I allowed to schedule it? Why confirm it? Why wait until I'm physically sitting in the lobby to say you don't provide that service? I took off work and lost a day's wages for this appointment. That's time and money I don't get back. And instead of owning their mistake, no apology was offered. Instead, I was told they could still do a quick exam -- but I'd have to pay the exam fee -- or I could "be Referred to San Antonio to find someone else" Charging someone after YOUR office scheduled the wrong service is unacceptable. That is poor management, poor communication, and a complete disregard for clients' time. Offering a different service while still charging the exam fee does not correct the original mistake. I did not schedule a general exam -- I scheduled a specific reproductive service that your office infact confirmed would be completed. If this is how they handle basic scheduling, I would strongly question how they handle more serious matters. Do better.

We had an excellent experience with Fido Sit while we were traveling. Leaving our pets behind is never easy, but knowing they were being cared for by someone reliable and attentive gave us tremendous peace of mind. Our cats were well cared for, and we appreciated the updates, photos, and communication throughout our trip. It was obvious that our pets were treated with kindness and genuine affection rather than simply being checked on and rushed through a visit. Professional, dependable, and caring are the words that best describe our experience. We returned home to happy pets and a home that was just as we left it.
