Us being a military family this really hit home. We are new to CC and were in search of an amazing veterinarian clinic for our 11 year old sphinx Legend. Poor Business and Unprofessional Service at Animal Medical Corpus Christi…read more 1-Star Review - Animal Medical Corpus Christi Extremely Unprofessional and Disorganized Conductive of Business. I called on Wednesday to schedule a reproductive/insemination exam for my dog and clearly explained what I needed. I was given a Friday 8:00 AM appointment and even received an email confirmation the next day verifying it. I showed up on time, only to be met with zero professionalism. No greeting. No courtesy. Just a cold "What can I help you with?" After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes, I was finally told they "don't do that here but instead I can "be referred to a Vet Clinic in San Antonio". Why not ? Is it because I'm the only Mexican in the Lobby with a Dog that looks like a Drug Dealer would Own? Or because I'm not your Average Joe with a Typical American Household Dog sitting in your lobby waiting for services. So why was I allowed to schedule it? Why confirm it? Why wait until I'm physically sitting in the lobby to say you don't provide that service? I took off work and lost a day's wages for this appointment. That's time and money I don't get back. And instead of owning their mistake, no apology was offered. Instead, I was told they could still do a quick exam -- but I'd have to pay the exam fee -- or I could "be Referred to San Antonio to find someone else" Charging someone after YOUR office scheduled the wrong service is unacceptable. That is poor management, poor communication, and a complete disregard for clients' time. Offering a different service while still charging the exam fee does not correct the original mistake. I did not schedule a general exam -- I scheduled a specific reproductive service that your office infact confirmed would be completed. If this is how they handle basic scheduling, I would strongly question how they handle more serious matters. Do better.

My dog recently passed at their Visalia location (4240 W Mineral King Ave). It's clear this…read morelocation takes after corporate as it cares more about profits than any living being that enters its doors. While I don't blame this clinic for her death since she went septic after surgery, I absolutely blame the overnight staff for how cold and uncaring they were in her final hours. The communication was inconsistent at best and misleading at worst. I was told by a vet tech that she would likely die before any tests were finalized, only for the actual Vet to give a more hopeful update after a glucose treatment and discussion of transferring her to a 24/7 hospital in Fresno. Meanwhile, her actual medical record listed her prognosis as "guarded to poor." Despite knowing how serious her condition was, they refused to allow me to stay with her or figure out a way I could be present if she passed, despite me being the only customer they had in the building at that time. Being given false hope while being kept at a distance during her final moments is something I will never forgive and would warn anyone bringing their pet here this may also be done to you and your beloved pet. When she did pass, the lack of basic compassion became even more obvious. I was given barely any time with her, less than a minute, before being asked, whether I wanted cremation or to take her body. I am assuming something they were rushing since they were nearing their closing time. Again, they spent more time with me discussing payment than they allowed for me to grieve with my dog. Thankfully, I decided to take her body to her regular vet to allow me time to say goodbye. Additionally, what made it worse was the staff in the back laughing and making comments while this was happening. The walls are thin, and with no one else in the building, it was very easy to hear. Hearing that kind of behavior while your dog is dying isn't just unacceptable, it's disturbing. This wasn't my first experience here, and there has consistently been a noticeable focus on pushing expensive treatment plans as my previous time here I overheard one of the workers trying to swindle a man who's cat was sick into paying for any service under the sun. I would strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to question everything and not blindly agree to what's recommended. Losing a pet is devastating on its own. The way this clinic handled it made an already painful experience feel callous, impersonal, and unnecessarily traumatic. Compassion should be the bare minimum in this field, and based on my experience, it was completely absent here.

In my 29 years of being a…read morepet owner, I can honestly say he is the best veterinarian I have ever had the privilege of trusting with my animals. Dr. Cuica is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the well-being of every pet he treats. He has cared for all four of my fur babies, as well as three of my childhood family pets, and every single visit has shown us just how deeply he cares. He doesn't treat animals like appointments on a schedule--he treats them like family. One of the things that sets him apart is the time he spends with his patients and their families. At many veterinary clinics, you may only see the veterinarian for a few minutes before the rest of your visit is handled by technicians. With Dr. Cuica, he is present throughout the entire appointment alongside his amazing staff. He personally performs thorough examinations, takes the time to explain everything in detail, answers every question without rushing, and teaches you how to prevent illness and provide the best possible care for your pet. You leave feeling informed, reassured, and confident. Over the years, he has been there for us during both joyful and heartbreaking moments. We recently had to say goodbye to two of our oldest family pets after they developed health conditions that unfortunately could not be treated. Dr. Cuica guided us through one of the most difficult experiences a pet owner can face with incredible compassion, patience, and kindness. His support during that transition meant more to our family than words can express. He has also gone above and beyond in emergencies. He once cleared his schedule to perform an emergency surgery on one of our pets, something I will never forget. Most recently, all four of our babies were affected by a nasty parasite, and he remained available every step of the way to ensure they received prompt treatment and recovered as quickly as possible. Knowing we had someone so dedicated in our corner gave us tremendous peace of mind. Beyond the exceptional medical care, his clinic is spotless and beautifully maintained. His office staff is always warm, welcoming, and compassionate, and his wife, Mrs. Cuica, is truly one of the sweetest, most caring people you could ever meet. They have created an environment where both pets and their owners feel genuinely cared for. They also offer payment plans through Cherry Financing, which can be an incredible help for families facing unexpected veterinary expenses. Dr. Cuica is also reasonably priced, especially considering the extraordinary level of care and attention he provides. He is a skilled local surgeon, and the quality of his work speaks for itself. Our family is forever grateful for Dr. Cuica and everyone at Lion of Judah Animal Services. Thank you for being a source of comfort, hope, and compassion during both the happiest moments and the hardest days. Thank you for always being there to care for our babies, no matter the time or circumstance. I recommend Dr. Cuica and Lion of Judah Animal Services to every friend and family member I know without hesitation. The level of compassion, dedication, expertise, and personal care you receive here is something you simply won't find anywhere else. They have earned our trust for life. Pictures of our babies added
