    The ruff of my rife.

Peewee's at first can sometimes seem a like a difficult place to adopt an animal, but it is because they people sincerely care about the correct placement of their animals. I don't know if he was still adopting out to people here in Corpus Christi or if they are sending out of state but either way peewee's adoption has done SO MUCH to save and help animals. I found the love of my life at Peewee's about five years ago. Words cannot describe my love for my chihuahua. I have also taken several animals I have found off the streets to Peewee's (I contribute $100-$200 donation of course since it's the right thing to do when I do). Peewees has never declined to take an animal that I have found off of the streets, and I love them for this.

Red hanging out in her treehouse while her friend Buttercup keeps an eye on her.

Ernie is big-hearted and makes sure her sweet creatures will be safe and sound in their new homes before permitting adoption. Before the animals in her care leave Peewee's they are lovingly cared for by attentive & capable staff. The cleanliness is impressive as well. Most of all, Ernie and her staff really know their innocent occupants, speak to them by name and can tell you about each animal's personality. My two cats were handed over to me healthy and thriving. Thank you Ernie for loving these innocent homeless pets and putting them on a track for kind 'forever' homes.

Pee Wees was generous enough to give me photo of him when they got him. He just needed a great home and is handsome and healthy again.

My husband and I adopted a poodle mix last month. My husband has terrible allergies so we looked into finding a hypoallergenic dog. Pee Wees was able to help us find a poodle who is smart, friendly and healthy. My husband responded well to our new furry friend and we couldn't be more happy. Screening process was easy for us since we have good qualifications. I enjoyed talking to the staff. Ps. My husband and I did visit the original location which is understandably exhausted due to the amount of dogs and short staff. But they do the best they can and I applaud them for being a NO-KILL shelter. Understandably, they have many animals and limited resources. Despite other reviews on Pee Wees, I definitely recommend this place since I was able to find my "diamond in the rough."

We went to Peewee's and had a very nice experience. The lady in charge was very informative and caring. I highly recommend this place.

Without it, there would be a many stray cat and dog without any chance of going on to have a better quality of life. Firstly, the Humane Society: The Humane Society is a non-profit organization with a mission of helping neglected and abused animals. They have a good cause, and for that, I support them as a whole. I have looked into their mission, and they are pretty straightforward, without any weird ideological angle or catch. I am very biased towards the Humane Society, as that is where I adopted my household firstborn, Pinto (my English/American Bulldog / Dogue De Bordeaux mix). I will give you some backstory on him, just to give you an idea of the lengths they will go to for their rescues. Pinto was found at about 10 weeks of age by a construction worker in Southeast Houston. He was emaciated, worm-riddled and covered with mange. The kindhearted man brought him to the Houston Humane Society, where they diligently treated his skin condition, and brought him to great health. Now, the GCHS is just as great a branch as any Humane Society location. However, you must understand that Corpus has a real problem with neglected, homeless, and roaming pets. Not that this is a problem exclusive to this city, but if you lived here, you would notice that it is pronounced. There are many ways to support the Humane Society. You can volunteer, donate pet food (try to make sure it is "grain free" please) or blankets to your local one, or you can also donate directly to them. They make it very easy to setup one-time or recurring donations directly from your bank account if you wish to do that. It is the time of year to be thoughtful and considerate. Perhaps you want to give to a good cause. This would be one of them, IMO. Also, if you are in the market for a new companion, consider adopting one from here. Adopt, don't shop!

I messaged Mary and she was so nice and informative letting me know that the bunny was receiving medical care but she would let me know when she would be available. Rescueing animals is one of the hardest jobs to do. It's a difficult balancing act most of the time. Many times rescues are overcrowded and having to turn away animals because they dont have room or funds for medical cost. The work is endless feeding, cleaning, and medical needs are just the beginning. Yet, this woman has devoted her life to caring for so many animals that people have discarded or abandoned. Thank you so much Mary for everything you do for these precious animals. Violet will be well taken care of for the rest of her life.

I am mirroring AND agree that this operation is not at all what it seems. **** see below**** I would encourage people to look at the real reviews on Yelp before you consider this place. It all appears on Google, as if it's a loving adoption and foster business that loves cats. I do not believe the positive reviews to be legitimate or even real, here, on Google for several reasons. Friends and acquitances are unfortunately all too common, misleading the public. This is common, and taking a positive review or a series of them, need to be weighed by the negatives and the failure to respond to negative reviews, speaks volumes There is something nefarious with the reviews and their "Director". The reviews on Yelp mirror my experience. Rude. intentional avoidance, phone number never answered. It would be better in my view to just do something else if you're unable or unwilling to fulfill your alleged mission or mission statement. It is their desire, it seems, to discourage those seeking to bring a homeless feline, to save a precious life, from doing so. In onc instace, I've read the review was scathing and concerning, especially where immediate danger to some kittens, attacked by dogs, was allegedly ignored. This is believable, based upon my experience. If it is a matter of underfunding, that is understandable. But it doesn't negate or excuse the hostility toward potential clients and avoidance. Nevertheless, ignoring contact and multiple complaints about the director being "rude" should be of concern to anyone seeking their assistance. This was my experience as well. Use discernment because we all know that action speaks louder than words. ***DO NOT RISK YOUR ANIMALS LIFE, HEALTH, OR TRUST THIS ORGANIZATION.
