I just called to inquire about a personal loan of $5000 and they treated me like they did not know but busy me, like another poor man looking for money. I have for the past four and a half years met every bill including car payments, insurance, rent etc, and have not missed a single payment anywhere. When I received the call that I was declined I was a little shocked and they gave me their lame excuses and I was not a gentleman when I got the news. They blocked my login so I cannot even check on the rest of my current loan which I owe $4500 out of $14.000. I explained that I was going to write reviews and help to educate people that there is a much better Credit Union on Borthwick Ave in Portsmouth and they were so indignant that an unimportant but busy man would have the audacity to complain in the manner that I did. This review is only meant to help poor people to avoid the embarrassment and humiliation that I encountered this morning.

The unnamed underwriter is also an absolute amateur. They have extended our closing by almost a month and we still do not have a clear to close. The continue to ask for documents and information that could have been obtained a month or more ago. A proper underwriting review would include a full list of items needed to close not a game of tag and back and forth. They won't even pick up the phone to contact the HOA or insurance companies to obtain the information, they hide behind emails. I had to call myself and get it for them. I have called Ermir several times to get this finalized and he hasn't returned even one of my calls. If you are looking for a mortgage company don't use Pinnacle.

They are rarely open, and requested call backs take many days. They locked me out of my online account for almost a week with no oncall support or any means to access the account. Lisa "the president" called me to rudely attack me and say that I spoke with 3 staff already when I only asked for a call back from the branch manager regarding their decision due to an error on my companies end. All this to say, there are plenty of better credit unions in the area, so just beware.

Arcadia is not a good choice to manage your money, they made a lot of errors. A few examples are…read moreincorrectly executing our back door Roth accounts and another employee calling me to tell me he has hours of work ahead of him to fix it and that person owes him lunch for a week. Most months I would have to email them to invest my automatic investment, it would just sit in a cash account. The last straw happened when I decided to purchase 35k worth of an artificial intelligence ETF mid-July. During the following two weeks it took a large hit. I decided to stop looking but the last time I had looked, once again, my regular automatic investment into a more conservative ETF was sitting in cash, so I emailed them asking to invest it, and deleted the Fidelity app. A week later, on August 7th 2024, my wife who almost never looks at our accounts decided to look and asked me why they sold out full position in the Artificial Intelligence ETF. I bought at the top of the market for a giant loss as well as our full position in a very long term hold of a vanguard technology ETF with significant long-term gains triggering a taxable event and put all of it into a conservative ETF a couple days prior without my knowledge or consent.  I called and emailed the owner and only heard back when my email said "I'm leaving the company". Mike, the CEO told me it was all bad luck and I must have walked under a ladder. I requested an in-person meeting, he told me he can do that after the summer with his family at his Cape Cod home and that will have to be sometime in September.  If you are looking for a hands-off experience or have little knowledge about investing I would steer clear of Arcadia Financial because you will not catch all of their errors they will consistently make , which will be detrimental to your goals. If you are like me, who have a working knowledge of investments, and think hiring someone may help you stay the course, you'll be managing the portfolio yourself anyways by telling them to fix all the mistakes they make. Quite frankly, I don't know who would be a good candidate to work Arcadia Financial. No skin off their back though. Part of my conversation with Mike when he was summering at his beach house, was to tell me he has enough portfolios where he can just coast from this point if he chooses. If you are on the fence about allowing them to manage your money, I encourage you to check out past employee reviews. Common examples include not being payed correctly, bad moral, and no leadership.
