The wrap-around porch was a favorite spot for our family... perfect for morning coffee and relaxing evenings together. My family enjoyed game nights , painting and breakfast on the porch. It's ideal for large families or groups, with plenty of room so you never feel crowded. The entire space felt cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook, which made meals easy and enjoyable. A special highlight for us was the Cuban coffee machine, it truly saved us and made mornings even better! The owners have thought about everything to make sure your stay is extra enjoyable. You can tell that every detail was considered to make guests feel at home. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely come back again.

It was fun to tour 4 vineyards in one day all with delicious local wines. The cabins are fully made of log which gives it a true country feel and the views from the wraparound deck are surreal. You can rent a cabin or a room in the small inn, most of which have a whirlpool tub. We actually lucked out and got the last available room in the inn. The kitchenette is a great addition and we did make use of it! The bed was comfortable and the flat screen TV was very adequate for it's size. The heater is a bit noisy when it turns on, but that would be the only thing I found even remotely unpleasant. What I love about this wonderful place is all the personal touches in the rooms. I felt so much at home with all the decorations, and loved the whimsy of those outside and on the porch. I love that each room has an old screen door, and yes, it will slam if you forget to hold onto it when you walk in and out of the room!! We couldn't be more pleased with our stay here! We look forward to returning soon!!

The fairway is probably 60-70 feet below you and stretches out towards the tree line. The par 3 2nd comes back a little to your left, and then you see the third hole as it wraps around water just below. Absolutely stunning. It's a tough track and I would say is fun from every set of tees (black, blue, white, gold, and even the red tees). Water comes into play on about a dozen holes. Highlights are the first tee box/first hole (it's a reachable par 5), the third as it wraps around a pond, the second half of the par 5 5th hole, the eighth hole looks like it's on top of the world, the views from the 10th tee box, the thirteenth hole (a brute of a par 5), and some of the best par 4s in Virginia (holes 15, 16, and 18). I stayed in the smaller of the two lodges that overlook the 18th green. We had a suite with a master with a king and another room with two double beds. Lots of space, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a porch. It was also the cleanest room I may have ever stayed in. Some of the nicest views were from the porch that included the storm that rolled through at night and the fog that followed in the morning. There is only one restaurant on property and the food was excellent. Love that the dessert menu was never fixed. I had an ice cream cookie sandwich that was excellent. The people here truly make this place special. Whoever cleaned our room deserves a raise. Bo (the head pro) and Sherrie in the pro shop are maybe the nicest people I have met playing golf, and that is saying something. The wait staff and grounds crew were all extremely nice as well. I know there is a 5-star resort down the road that I visited for a bit, but I would much rather be here every day of the week. (Not saying I wouldn't turn down a free stay and play at the other place.) Needless to say this is now on my list for places to have a relaxing weekend getaway filled with great golf.

The site we had booked wasn't enough for our 39 foot Forest River, so Tony graciously placed us at site 43, one of the most requested, for our one night stay. We are absolutely brand new to camping and had just purchased our camper out of state the day before our stay. They gifted us a water hose (because the one we discovered in our used camper was used for winterizing) and blocks to help level us up. Without them I don't know how our stay would have been anywhere close to what it was. The bathhouse was immaculate and laundry was reasonably priced at 1.25/1.50 per load. We had hoped to attend worship on Sunday morning but didn't get packed up in time. This campground is home to many sites that house full time or seasonal residents.
