It is now an absolutely gorgeous carvery with stunning decor and great service. There is an opulent luxury feel when you step into the entrance and this is carried on throughout the pub with expensive chandaliers, fireplaces, etc. The pub has a standard menu, but is more famous for the carvery menu, which is always gorgeous. It can get a little busy at the weekends and then the service is a little slow, but on the whole you always have a great experience here. It is definitely highly recommended.

I am sure the rest of the food is lovely, it looks good from what i see as they serve people near me, the chips just werent for me, also no skimmed milk on my last visit, just whole milk so had to have a cup of tea rather than a latte. being picky really.. it really is a nice place :-)

The pub is part of an attractive clutch of old buildings next to the church, and is Grade II Listed, although unfortunately there's a large Sainsbury's plonked opposite. Inside, it feels more like a country pub than a town pub: lots of tucked away seating areas (ideal for family or social groups) give it a cosy feel, with some old beams on the ceiling providing the right atmosphere. Real ale fans are well catered for with two regulars and three guest ales, although one of the latter was off on our visit. The food menu is extensive and features traditional pub grub, with main meals, baguettes, sandwiches and baked potatoes. There's a good vegetarian selection, too, and staff were friendly and helpful. The 10 minute walk to the pub from Warrington Town Centre passes several other old pubs, also serving real ale, on Buttermarket Street and Church Street, which would make for a perfect real ale pub crawl, ending at the Ring O'Bells. The beers are the usual national brews with the addition of three handpumps dispensing from the Hydes set of ales. Today's wasa choice of Hydes Original Bitter, Hydes Finest and O'Finnegan's Stout. All of these were extremely tasty and beautifully kept and served the cellarman is to be complimented! For those who need to know, this is on the bus routes numbered 17, 18 and 18A The 18A actually turns around near to the pub for its return journey. The beers served are all the usual; Guinness, 1664 lager, Strongbow etc. but, as it is a Holt's pub, there is quite a selection of real ales with four handpumps, all different ales. There are also two large Holt's dispensers which appear to be for keg Holt's. The wines and spirits selection seems to be quite comprehensive. From 12 noon until 8pm food is served from a select, but interesting menu at very reasonable prices. During these times, also, children are allowed in, provided they are supervised the few in during our visit were very well behaved. The furniture and decor is impressively welcoming, clean and fairly new-looking with some different pictures rural landscapes and similar, rather than the usual fake antiques. The bar has a large screen tv with Sky Sports available and there is a partially separate pool room. The beer garden is quite a size, with plenty of seating at picnic tables and is mostly paved, but with a small grassed area. The car park is large enough to cater for almost the whole area and has a dedicated row of spaces for disabled next to the entrance doors. For those, like myself, who prefer not to have to drive, three local bus routes stop very close (Shetland Close bus-stop).

Really quaint and some lovely features and touches (real fire, piano,seperate bar and lounge) Think the staff said they do 25 draught beers and real ale and cider, one was erdinger a german wheat beer..unusual. Amazing prices too on beer and food cheaper than weatherspoons. A place for couples or friends but they dont allow children (which is fine with me as its a cozy small place) If you havent tried it do give it a go, I will be back for sure in fact going tomorrow

It's a friendly pub, with alcoves and areas where you can gather a group of friends to talk and enjoy good beers and ales. The food is good, standard pub fare, served with a smile and a reasonable bill at the end. I've been here on my own, with family and as prt of a staff celebration with 30 odd people (very odd, some of them!) and the staff cope well.

It is a rather quiet English pub out in the country, with the rather charming interior that you would expect from a lot of these pubs. However, it also has a huge beer garden, which is delightful in summer, though I do have to admit that I've really only been in England during the summer so I haven't exactly experienced the worst that weather has to offer. It's set just outside the charming village of Stockton Heath and has that country pub feel without having to venture too far from civilisation. The bar stocks some good ales but I opted for Old Mout Cider, a fruity little number that was perhaps a bit too easy to drink, hence a sore head this morning. There's a lovely beer garden out the back with picnic tables, parasols and plenty of grass space for kids to run around. Staff are friendly and the locals seem like decent folk ( I certainly didn't spot any track suits, which is always a good sign). Food wise, we were treated to a delicious buffet of Thai fish cakes, chicken wings, salad and pulled pork, which was delicious. So judging by this, I would imagine their everyday food menu is pretty good too.

Be prepared for lots of jumping about and dancing. Bar prices are standard for Warrington but i'd recommend avoiding drinking wine in here, it's not really the place for it, the choice is limited and from experience tastes pretty vile. I stick to spirits and mixers or bottles usually. It is £2-£3 for entry which in my opinion is steep but since you have to pay for entry to most pubs in Warrington town centre now a days you may aswell pay for one of the better ones, you receive a stamp on your hand allowing you to leave and re-enter as you wish. There is a decent sized courtyard with benches outside making it a popular choice in the summer and giving smokers somewhere decent to sit outside. The pub typically shuts around 3am on a Fri and Sat night.
