I've participated in two different private parties with Melanie and she doesn't disappoint. The…read morefirst party was a bachelorette party for a friend and we had a lot of fun painting together. The second party was a memorial painting to remember my dad's life. With a pending Nor'Easter we had to move the date of the paint party. Melanie was incredibly flexible and understood when we were no longer able to get everybody previously scheduled to attend the new date. To sweeten the pot, upon arrival at Wicked Illustrations, I asked if we could change the painting we originally chose and she quickly put it together so we could change. Melanie is patient and provides personal attention to each painter to provider tips and tricks and reduce perfectionist anxiety while we all try to master the art of painting. I would highly recommend Wicked Illustrations for this reason.

She comes for a weekend every few months (not nearly often enough and we have some serious Maine-envy!). We have done some awesome stuff with Catherine- art journals, mixed media canvases, shadow boxes, holiday ornaments. Her projects are always refreshingly new and involve cool techniques we haven't tried before. Catherine is energetic, funny and a really great instructor. I have not missed a single one of her classes here and I highly recommend her. She recently released a line of rubber stamps of her own art through Art Gone Wild, and they are wonderful. She even spent time teaching me how to mix my own colors which was neat. My favorite workshops have been a holiday card making one with a guest instructor, and a tiny paintings class taught by Adria. I was amazed by how much I actually created and it was lovely in this hectic life to have the space to do it. I've heard the drawing class taught by Reesa Wood is super, too.
