While the stores/galleries help artists promote their wares, the League is also about education, so classes and workshops are offered at some locations, for those who want to learn and explore their creative sides.

We found some beautiful glass art bowls by Nathan Macomber which we bought. We also found some delightful notecards with animal photographs by Susan Lirakis. And for immediate consumption some homemade chocolate chip cookies, individually wrapped and delicious. While there, we met Dana, the owner, who was gracious and friendly. Many of the prints were beautifully matted, framed, and mounted. There are a variety of landscape prints from New Hampshire and Vermont, with majestic mountains during the various seasons. Some are unframed but we didn't want to then purchase a cheap frame and materials from a chain store. With some prints in various sizes, we finally made a choice as to what we wanted. Dana was very patient the entire time although it was after his 5:00 closing time, but it did not bother him. We would highly recommend Dana and his store because he truly knows how to take care of a customer, and that, in and of itself, is a dying art.

I stood at the checkout patiently, I know the staff saw me and after a long wait, someone finally asked me if I needed help. I had placed items for purchase on the counter. I mentioned yes I would like to shop items in the locked glass cases. While shopping apparently a lady who seemed to be in charge was busy talking phone calls (behind the counter), glanced at me as if I, as a customer, was an annoyance. Still, I waited patiently. Another issue for the staff seemed to be a pending delivery at the back door. Who should be available when the delivery person arrived. Meanwhile, I stood there apparently invisible. When I was finally helped,the lady who helped me was very nice. Checkout was slow and tedious. It seemed as if actually selling items was also a chore and a bother. Today, back home I would have enjoyed buying additional items; however, I live in Florida. I called ti inquire about online purchases. Nope came the reply with the same irrigation received in person. The website is, well, shows the amount of effort these artisans apply to selling. Perhaps they like the stuff and like to label and price by hand. Like a hobby. That's it! This is a hobby not a serious place of business. I'm sure everyone there are super nice. But nice doesn't translate to building a business that has amazing potential. Imagine a catalog. Christmas section room upstairs is fun. They have such an amazing variety. Kids toys, baby stuff, nh gear, garden ornaments, jewelry, Ossipee lake memorabilia, and on and on. Wonderful place to find a cool gift or something special for yourself. I most recently purchased a heart shaped crystal and slippers. Presents for two separate people that were loved when received. Staff are pleasant and helpful. They have gift wrapped for us in the past too if you need or want help with making things look really pretty.
