When you hire an attorney you have to trust that they will be an honest and decent human being. Not so with Mr. McNamara. This guy is dishonest as the day is long. My primary concerns were responsiveness, timeliness, and preparedness. On multiple occasions, I had to follow up for work or information that I expected to receive without repeated prompting. At one point, I specifically confirmed in advance that materials I had provided would be reviewed before a scheduled meeting, but I came away from the meeting concerned that the necessary preparation had not occurred. The representation ultimately ended when Rebecca decided to terminate the attorney-client relationship. Even after that decision, I experienced delays with the transition to replacement counsel and had to repeatedly follow up regarding my file and work product. Most frustratingly, after Rebecca and I had spent considerable time reviewing a settlement agreement provision by provision and discussing proposed changes, the marked-up document reflecting that work was not included in the file initially transferred to my new attorney, requiring yet another follow-up. Divorce matters are already stressful, and I believe clients should be able to expect timely communication, careful preparation, and an orderly transition if representation ends.
