Stopped in here for Sunday lunch and frankly a little disappointed. Roast dinners were on the menu so we both had roast beef and the trimmings. The beef was overcooked, the roast potatoes were burned (almost totally inedible), my wife makes better Yorkshire puddings than were on our plate (doughy and rather flat). The broccoli in cheese sauce was actually pretty good as were the other veggies. The service was good and prompt but they were very busy and several of the young staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. With a little research we discovered they are advertising to hire a cook. That makes sense. It has a very nice pub atmosphere and I particularly liked the Royal Navy cap tallies over the bar. read more

Summary: Awesome place with super friendly service and super scrumptious pub classics. Must come if you are in Pembroke Dock or driving past/nearby. If you've got a car and wondering where to eat after a day trip in Skomer...this place is perfect for you (IMHO). We initially wanted to go somewhere else as it had 4.5 star rating on yelp but that other place was closed on a Sunday so we re-yelped and found this absolutely fabulous little hidden gem very close to the hotel we were staying at, the Cleddau Bridge Hotel. As we parked the car, we said to ourselves, wow this place is gorgeous and it seems that not too many people know about it. We were super hungry as we'd just spent a day in Skomer and so when the food came it was bliss. EVERYTHING was so delicious and I dare say it's not because we were very hungry. We had the steak and stilton pie, the Sirloin steak with creamy mushroom sauce and gloriously fried fish and chips and ended with the crumble of the day. The pie was simply perfect, the steak was a great showcase of Welsh beef and it's sauce was one of the best mushroom sauce I've had and the battered fish was perfectly fried. Crumble was lovely. Oh dear, I'm hungry just writing this review. OK - now to the visuals. The pub itself and interior is nice and cozy. Quite pretty in fact with cute decorations here and there. And then there's the outside. We would have sat outside if we hadn't been outdoors on an island with no shade for 5-6 hours as the view was just lovely. You could easily come here on a beautiful evening and have a very romantic (and as above, DELICIOUS, meal) seeing the sunset on the River Cleddau. Needless to say that we will be back here again on our next trip in Wales :) read more

Great food - and service. The seafood dishes are FABULOUS!!

Hmm not sure I should tell anyone about this little gem. Oh well, here goes. This pub is a short drive from the ferry terminal - just head for the tiny village of Pembroke Ferry which as the name suggests, provided the quickest crossing between the Medieval strong points of Pembroke and Haverfordwest. Now there's a modern bridge, more or less underneath which, on the south side of the water, you'll find the pub. If you're not keen on the food served on the ferry (and the prices), then you are bound to find something you like here from fish & chips to homemade curry. Children are catered for. The beer's good too and if the weather's fine you can sit outside and enjoy the view. Don't all arrive at once, I want to make the sailing to Rosslare! read more

I was very dissapointed when we had an evening meal at the Ferry Inn. The lasagne appeared to have been frozen and reheated. It was a mixture of burnt and undercooked. The garlic potatoes were a poor excuse for garlic potatoes! New potatoes with some garlic crushed over them and a sprinkling of dried herbs. The restaurant itself is nicely set out and in a nice location but I can't over look the mistakes made on such simple and traditional pub dishes. The service was good and the desserts, prepared by the friendly waitress, were good too. It was only the main course which was of poor quality. read more

Just been taken over by new people. Wow!!!! Great old pub with great views over the Cleddau Estuary. Has a patio area which backs right on to water. Brill place to eat on a hot day. Quite hard to find.... Thank goodness he he:) Nearly under the Cleddau bridge.... Theres a clue for you:) Great menu specialising in local seafood and fish. Must be the best in the area by a long way. The steak I had was to die for. Great chef great welcome five stars is not enough. A must for anyone looking for a place to eat. I was put onto it by the local travel lodge in Pembroke Dock where I was staying. All I can say is thank you to them :)))))) read more

lets be honest about this eatery.... The new owner has taken over and has ,within a short period of time turned it around. I have had several meals at The Ferry and can honestly say have never been dissapointed. The staff are more than friendly and helpful. i say try it you wont be dissapointed. read more

Called in to what we thought would be a great local for food and drink. Members of staff didnt speak to us just stared in an unfriendly manner. It seems that a dry white wine is unavailable there. Sadly we were sad as we noramlly go out to eat at least 3 times a week. The Ferry Inn is within walking distance to us but we didnt like the unfriendly atmosphere. read more
